Only If You Know

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Everything was blurry when Olivia opened her eyes. Her head was a little dizzy, and she was suffering

from a severe headache. However, when her vision cleared after about five minutes, she saw that she

was surrounded by Ella, David, and, surprisingly, Caleb.

“How are you doing, my dear?” Ella asked her.

“Fine, I guess.” She shrugged as if it was nothing. She had previously fainted but had no one to care

for her. So she had always woken up alone, having to take care of herself and tend to herself.

After David checked her, Ella went downstairs to cook something for her.

“How did I get here?” She wondered to herself.

Caleb’s voice startled her. “We got you here. You were unconscious back at that old house.”

Oh my goodness!! Ella and David would have undoubtedly discovered her there. How could she have

been so oblivious? So much for her escape plan.

“I should have looked for a better place.” She thought to herself.

“And get me in more trouble?” Caleb listened, even though he wasn't supposed to.

'What is it with this guy, startling me over and over?' Olivia pondered.

“I did not get you into any trouble. I did what needed to be done.”

“Really? By disappearing and scaring the crap out of me... Um, everyone here.”

“I did what you said. You should be grateful that I was doing both of us a favour.” Olivia was now

staring at him.

This was new to him. Till now, he had never seen her glaring at anyone.

“Excuse me! But if I had told you to jump off the bridge, would you have done it?”

“That wouldn't have been such a bad idea!” She murmured to herself again. This made Caleb lose all

his senses.

“What did you say?” He asked her.

“Nothing,” she said nervously, scared of the words she said.

“No, you said something.”

“It's none of your business what I say or do.” She said firmly to him.

“Look, I just wanted to apologize for my behaviour that night. I should not have been so harsh with

you.” Caleb ran his hand nervously through his hair, ignoring her previous statement because he

clearly heard her.

“It's okay. You were right in a way.”

He was about to interrupt her, but she stopped him. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

“It's fine, Caleb. Anyway, how did you find out I was missing in the first place?” She asked.

“I had my doubts when you didn't show up the other day. But I just assumed you were upset, so I didn't

bother you. Then today, mom and dad showed up early. Then I saw the pizza I got for you earlier was

kept exactly as it is.”

She interrupted him once more.

“I got the rest.” She said, sighing.

Caleb was about to leave the room when he became curious about something.

“You never asked me how we knew you were at that old house.”

“I suppose you have a right to know. That’s my parents’ house. So, Ella and David must have guessed

I’d go there.”

Olivia’s response piqued Caleb. He had a long list of questions he wanted to ask her. But he knew it

wasn’t the right time.

Day by day, it was making Caleb realize that maybe he had assumed too much about her and had

gotten her all wrong somewhere along the way.
