Oops, I’ve Been Exposed

Chapter 29 by Lorelei Thunder

Mindy went up to Dickson and stopped him. “Let’s talk things out. There’s no need for violence.”

“Get out of the way, you old beggar!” Dickson pushed Mindy to the ground and continued rushing toward Woody with his fists in the air. Woody kicked him in the stomach and caused him to fly several feet away. He fell on his face.

“How dare you hit my husband. I’ll kill you!” Trudy rushed over.

Woody frowned. Then, he yelled, “Get out!”

Trudy was terrified. Her legs gave way, and she slumped to the ground. Dickson was scared, too. Both of them helped each other up and ran away with their tails between their legs.

Only after they were out of the house did they start to feel at ease.

As she was running away, Trudy yelled, “Woody, you freeloading scum. Just wait. I’ll definitely crush you!”Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Shane helped Mindy up and sighed. ” Woody, couldn’t you just talk things out with them? Why did you have to escalate things like that? There’s no turning back from this.”

“It is what it is.”

Woody smiled. “Let’s forget about them. You’re the one who taught me not to dwell on the past or worry about the future but cherish the present.”

Shane smiled bitterly. “I just think it’s a pity. Pamela Never mind. Let’s not talk about that anymore. It doesn’t matter what happened. Your return is still a happy occasion!

“Honey, stop standing around. Let’s get some groceries. Don’t be afraid to spend some money. Buy all the things that Woody loves to eat. Buy the expensive ones!”

Mindy was delighted. She nodded and said, “Sure thing. I’ll wash my hands and set out immediately after.”

After a while, Mindy was back with all sorts of ingredients. It was everything that Woody used to love. She sat in the yard as she prepped the ingredients.

Shane was asking Woody all sorts of questions in the living room.

At that moment, a young woman in a beige windbreaker arrived on an electric scooter and stopped at the gate.

She was tall and slender. She wasn’t voluptuous, but her figure was well- defined. Her facial features were exquisite. She had her hair in a simple ponytail, and she exuded the youthfulness of a young lady.

“Wow, what am I seeing?”

The young woman saw the ingredients that her mother was holding and yelled in surprise, “It’s sea bass, ribs, and shrimp. They’re all my favorites!

“What’s the occasion, Mom? You never want to spend money on these. Also How did you know I would be home today?

“Did you expect the arrival of your cute, smart, and pretty daughter and made preparations in advance? I have good news. My company is making me a full-time employee. I’m here to get a copy of my graduation certificate.”

The young woman was Sasha Evans, the daughter of Shane and Mindy. She graduated from university that summer and had just joined the workforce.

“Someone’s here today, Sasha. You’ll never guess who it is,” Mindy said mysteriously.

Woody stood up and walked outside when he heard Mindy and Sasha talking. Complicated emotions bubbled up within him as he looked at this young woman who seemed a little familiar.

“Look who it is, Sasha,” Shane said with a smile.

Sasha was taken aback. She exclaimed, “Woody!”

Then, she started to run toward him.

Woody smiled. Sasha used to run toward him like that after school every time back in middle school. She would dive into his embrace and refuse to get off him. He would have to carry her home in the end.

Those were the days. Woody opened his arms reflexively.

But then, when Sasha stood before him, she gave him a resounding slap.
