Pampered By The Ruthless Underground Boss

Chapter 490

Chapter 490:

The other man, who had been watching, froze. Fear flashed in his eyes as he started to speak, but before he could get a word out, Henrik turned, pressed a gun to his temple, and pulled the trigger without so much as a pause.

Bang!

The man’s head practically exploded, spraying blood and bits all over Felix. His wide-eyed defiance vanished in an instant, replaced by a blank, horrified stare.

“Think very carefully before you answer. If you lie, I’ll make it worse for you.” Henrik’s stare was ice-cold, sharp enough to send chills down Felix’s spine. Felix was shaking now, his voice trembling as he stuttered, “I-I don’t know! My boss set it all up. He said the person only ever called—they’ve never met!”

“Do you know how they got in touch?” Khloe’s voice was sharp and cold.noveldrama

Felix nodded frantically, terrified that a second’s hesitation might cost him his life.

Khloe leaned against the wall, trying to stand up, but Henrik was by her side instantly, steadying her. Once she found her balance, she reached for her necklace, pulling out a tiny USB-like device and passing it to Henrik.

“It’s a tracking device I designed. If we make the call now, they’ll answer, and we can trace them,” Khloe explained.

She had carried this device with her after the Douglas family’s banquet, where she had needed serious tech backup to save someone. She had brought it to the conference, just in case, and now it was proving its worth.

Henrik nodded, grabbed a phone from the scarred man’s pocket, plugged in Khloe’s device, and handed it to Felix. “Make the call.”

Felix didn’t dare argue. With trembling hands, he opened the phone, launched a mysterious app, and typed in a series of codes before placing the call.

“Is it finished?” a voice demanded from the other end, and Khloe froze in place. That voice was Artist’s, the very person who had gone head-to-head with her at the medical conference.

But today was the first time Khloe had actually met Artist. What could possibly spark such hatred that Artist would go to these lengths to harm her?

It was clear now—Artist wasn’t just a rival but a bitter enemy.

Khloe’s expression hardened. She gestured for Felix to continue, hoping to buy enough time for the tracker to lock onto Artist’s exact location.

Felix caught on quickly and stammered, “N-not yet. There was a complication. The guy with the woman is too skilled. A few of my men are dead, and we couldn’t take them down.”

A furious growl echoed from the phone. “Useless bastards! You can’t even handle something this simple. Where are you?”

“We’re in the sewer tunnels, but…”

Before he could finish, Artist cut him off sharply. “Why are you reporting instead of your boss?”

Felix froze, his eyes darting toward Henrik. But before he could respond, Artist hung up.

Henrik’s brows furrowed as he checked the screen. It only revealed that Artist was somewhere in an old factory on the outskirts of the city.

The area was too large to narrow down, making it nearly impossible to pinpoint Artist’s exact location.

Realizing that Artist hadn’t fallen for the trick, Felix panicked. He dropped to his knees, bowing frantically. “I’m sorry. I never should’ve hurt anyone. Please don’t kill me!”

He groveled completely, even reaching out to grab Henrik’s leg in a desperate attempt to beg for forgiveness. But as his hand moved closer, Henrik’s sharp eyes caught the glint of deceit in Felix’s expression. His other hand, tucked inside his sleeve, was making a sneaky motion.

Henrik’s expression turned icy. Acting without a moment’s hesitation, he delivered a powerful kick to Felix’s chest.
