Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies

Chapter 1387

Chapter 1387

Beth sat by the bed, while Marshall stood next to her

Jeremy hurried back and saw Ashlynn lying in bed. “Did Corentin hit you? I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have provoked him.” Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Beth turned to stare at him. “What did you do?”

Jeremy looked away

Marshall scowled. “Your mom is asking you a question.”

“I kissed Ashlynn on the forehead in front of Corentin on purpose, Jeremy confessed.

“Corentin is far too arrogant and I understand the urge to challenge him, but you should not have gotten Ashlynn involved. What were you thinking?” Beth said mercilessly

“I won’t do it again…” Jeremy said sheepishly. “What did Corentin do, though? Are

you hurt?”

Marshall explained what happened earlier and Jeremy blurted out, “Mom, that didn’t happen because of me! It was you!”

“Shut it!” Marshall roared, silencing Jeremy effectively.

Beth turned to look at Ashlynn worriedly. “You shouldn’t have gotten in the middle of that. What am I supposed to do if you took damage to the bones? Can you tell me why you did that?”

“I…I don’t know either I wasn’t thinking…” Ashlynn said.

“I know. I know…” Beth’s tears threatened to fall.

Ashlynn did not understand what Beth meant, since neither Ashlynn herself could understand why she did such a thing.

“Rest and recover here.” Marshall said. “Let us know if you need anything and we will buy them for you.”

“1. I’m fine.” Ashlynn’s back hurt, but since her bones were not damaged, she figured that she would recover even if she did not rest.

“No. Rest. Stop making me feel more guilty than I already am,” Beth said sorrowfully with a sniffle.

Okay Ashlynn was amazed by how kind they were toward her, and still could not fully comprehend the situation even after Beth and Marshall left the room.

They seemed overly kind to her and Beth’s reaction when she collapsed onto the ground still lingered in

her mind.

“What are you thinking about?” Jeremy waved his hand in front of her.

Ashlynn sobered and said, “Your parents are too kind to me.”

“You’ve protected her and I’m sure that she’s deeply touched by it,” Jeremy said. “You’ve practically saved her life.”

“That’s an overstatement.”

“Not at all. In any case, you are going to be my parents’ favorite from now on. By the way, what’s with this ring?” Jeremy had spotted the diamond ring on Ashlynn’s finger.

She pursed her lips. “Corentin and I have been married for a while, actually.”

She could not tell if Jeremy was romantically interested in her, but realized that informing him about it would help prevent further misunderstanding.

“What?!” Jeremy shouted. “For how long?”

“Three months ago.”

“So we haven’t even met at the time?” Jeremy thought about it and said, “Which means he organized that engagement party with Meredith despite being married to you? Is he insane?”

“He is,” Ashlynn said.

Jeremy shot her a confused and troubled look. “Who exactly does he see you as? Are you not angry at all? Oh, right, you don’t get to be angry. So you’ve been his wife all along, huh? What do you plan to do now? Go back and keep being his wife?”

“It’s my fate. I’ve come to accept it.” Ashlynn lowered her gaze.

Jeremy could tell that Ashlynn was forced into the marriage and was frustrated to learn how complicated the situation was.
