Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies

Chapter 1398

Chapter 1398

Not to mention the part where Ashlynn was entitled to ten percent of the company’s earnings each year, considering how tremendous the amount would be.

Meredith could not bear it any longer. “What do you mean? Ashlynn is going to get all that money by just doing nothing? Did Grandpa mention any condition to this?”

“No.” Mr. Cooper said with confidence.

“I don’t believe you!” Meredith darted up and grabbed the paperwork in his hands. When she noticed that there were indeed no conditions mentioned, she tossed them onto the floor. “Who is she to get that? Why?! Just because the Hiltons owe her? She is doing just fine! She’s married to Corentin Lloyd, and she will never have to worry about money again! She’s married and is no longer a Hilton, so what was Grandpa thinking? You get to have everything, while my dad and I get nothing?” She broke down in tears out of

devastation.

Disappointed, Eddie sighed heavily.

Beth and Marshall shot one another a look.

“Meredith, don’t get upset. I will give you my bonus for each year. We will take responsibility for your expenses from now on as well, so don’t you worry. Eddie, we are brothers and you know that I don’t care about these sorts of things. You can have half of my share.”

“And how much will you have left for yourself if you just give them out to everyone?” Eddie muttered. “We are just not capable enough in Dad’s eyes and Beth earns what she gets. I accept Dad’s decision,” Eddie said as he stood. “Meredith, let’s go.”

“Brother…” Beth stood up. “Meredith…”

Eddie left and Meredith ignored her, before leaving as well.

Beth sat on the couch helplessly with one hand to support her sore back.

Seeing how pale she was, Marshall asked, “are you in pain?”

Beth shook her head. “I didn’t expect Dad to do such a thing. I’m just his daughter-in-law and this isn’t fair to you or your brother…” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

“Eddie must have already guessed it long before this. You might be Dad’s daughter-in-law, but he’s always seen you as his one. You are talented, so it’s only normal that he would pick you. Don’t feel guilty over it and do what you must. I will always have your back,” Marshall said.

Ashlynn listened to their conversation and felt envious, even when they were her parents. It was not easy to find a couple so supportive of one another, and the fact that such a loving couple were her parents filled her heart with pride.

At the same time, Ashlynn noticed that Beth looked paler and after Mr. Cooper announced the will, it almost looked as though Beth could barely sit up straight.

“Crescent, are you staying?” Marshall asked.

Before Ashlynn could answer, Corentin said, “No.”

Displeased, she retorted, “You said I can go to the Hiltons’ whenever I want, are you breaking your promise now?”

He shot her a stern look with a dark expression.

“I will go back tomorrow. I’m only staying one night.” Ashlynn was worried that he might not agree and that he might take her away forcefully in front of her parents.

Corentin stood. “I will pick you up tomorrow.” He nodded at Beth and Marshall. “Goodbye for now.” Before turning to leave.

Ashlynn sighed a breath of relief, glad that it did not end in conflict, though she did not know what prompted Corentin to agree.

Ashlynn followed Beth and Marshall back to their mansion and Marshall helped Beth back to the bedroom, while Ashlynn waited outside on the couch.

Inside the car, Beth had been talking to her about the company and its share, but was leaning against Marshall the entire time as though she was feeling unwell.

Ashlynn hesitated, before heading up the stairs. When she arrived at the bedroom, the door was half- open and she went inside to find Beth lying with her back facing up on the bed, revealing the wounds on her back.
