Purchased A Mr. Right

Chapter 1981

Chapter 1981

Shelton crossed his legs and teased Desmond. "She's already gone. Why are you still watching?"

The people next to him also laughed and echoed, "Don't worry. This floor has only exclusive VIP rooms. The bathroom is a few steps away on the right side of the door. She won't get lost!"

Then, there was a burst of laughter.

Someone said with a smile, "Hey? Desmond was forced to marry, right?"

Shelton looked at Desmond and teased. "I can testify for this. His father had been diagnosed with intermediate-stage cancer. The doctor said that there were only two years left for him. So, his grandpa threatened Desmond to get married. He had no choice but to agree."

"At that time, he planned to get married first and divorce when his grandfather passed away. Desmond, am I right?"

Desmond smiled.

He shook the red wine glass in his hand and nodded. "Yes."

It was his plan at the beginning.

Shelton was his closest friend, so he didn't hide his thoughts from him.

However, as the forced marriage began, his feelings toward Mia had quietly started to change...

The corners of Desmond's mouth twitched slightly. Just before he spoke up again, he noticed the weird looks on Shelton and the people beside him. They looked at someone behind him in embarrassment.

Desmond sat at the outer side of the group, his back facing the door.

He stiffened at the thought of something.

He turned around and saw Mia at the door, her face pale.

Mia just came back from the bathroom. When she pushed the door open and came in, she heard all the conversation between Shelton and him.

His words hit her in the head.

She knew that they got married before knowing each other well.

She also knew that Desmond married her because of the elders' arrangements. However, she didn't realize that Desmond had the idea of divorcing her in two years when his family no longer needed it.

Once a couple becomes a husband and wife, they should never be suspicious of their love.

Mia believed in it, but it turned out that they treated their marriage in totally different ways.

Mia's usually bright and pure eyes darkened. All of a sudden, sadness and frustration surged inside her heart.

The second before she lost control, she turned around and escaped.

Shelton slapped his mouth hard for saying something so mean.

He was extremely annoyed. "Damn. She must have misunderstood us!"

Everyone present knew very well that although Desmond was forced to get married, he loved his wife. They had seen them together after his marriage. Desmond would always talk about his wife in a sweet tone and show off their love every time they gathered.

Desmond's attitude toward the marriage changed so much that Shelton intended to tease him on purpose. Yet, he did not expect to jeopardize their relationship!

"I'm sorry, bro!" His face was full of guilt.

As Mia's pale face emerged in his mind, Desmond clenched his hands and nearly crushed the red wine glass in his hand.

His heart ached so much.

The next second, he remembered Dan's question: do you want to know why she married you?

Dan also said that Mr. Chadwick taught Mia well, so she was grateful and sympathetic.

Desmond understood the hidden meaning behind his words.

Mia married him not only because of the sick Mr. Borbon but also because she was compassionate and grateful.

Otherwise, she might not marry him.

She could be free.

He put down his wine cup and clenched his fist as if he was forcing himself to make a decision.

He twitched the corner of his mouth but did not smile. "It's okay. I should thank you instead."

When Shelton heard his words, he was stunned and confused. He urged him anxiously, "Go to chase her and explain everything to her!"

Desmond didn't say anything. He picked up his coat and left.

The bright neon lights shone into the window.

They were silent all the way.

After getting in the car, Desmond looked at Mia, sitting on one side in silence with her head down.

She was good-tempered and didn't get angry with him.

Desmond didn't know that Mia was trying hard to hold back her tears.

Mia went upstairs after returning to the villa, and Desmond grabbed her from behind.

Mia stopped.

Desmond sighed and took the initiative to ask, "Don't you have anything to ask me?"

Mia looked into his eyes and clenched her hands. "Just now in the club, what Shelton said..."

She thought it was a misunderstanding, just like what had happened in Tina's house.

...

But before she could finish, Desmond said, "It's true."

Mia's throat tightened. "Won't you explain it to me?"

Unable to meet her gaze, Desmond looked aside. "No. There is no need to explain it."

Mia felt a lump in her throat.

Desmond still didn't dare to look at

her. His face was grave, and his voice was distant, like empty and indifferent echoes from a distant valley. "Shelton was right. I married to make my grandpa happy. I'l divorce after he's gone. However, I've changed my mind now. I don't want to wait for two more years. I want to end it now."

to

Her feelings fluctuated between excitement and fear as if she were on a roller coaster.

Hearing the last few words, she was stunned with frustration.

Mia stared at him in a daze, her eyes misty and flustered. She said in a panic, "Are you kidding? And your grandfather..."

He said, "I'll take care of it."

He glanced at her and hurriedly avoided her eyes. "It's getting late. Let's rest first. I'll sleep in the guest room today."

Before Mia could say anything, she saw him mercilessly close the guest-room door before her.

The next day, Mia got dark circles under her eyes.

She stayed up all night.

Desmond's request for a divorce was like a clap of thunder to her. Her eyes were wide open the whole night, and it was only near dawn that she tookContent rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

a nap.

She walked out after washing up and found the door of the guest room was open.

The quilt had been laid there neatly, but no one was inside.

She went downstairs and asked Sabine, "Where's Desmond?"

Before Sabine entered the kitchen, Before Sabine she replied with a smile, "He left early in the morning without having breakfast. He left with a suitcase, saying that he was away in a few days, and asked me to take good care of you!"

Sabine didn't know what had happened between the couple. She thought that Desmond had gone on a business trip just like before.

But Mia knew it was not like that.

She went upstairs like a wandering ghost and sat languidly down on the bed.

Her dull eyes suddenly regained their focus.

She looked at the bedside table and found a document on it.

It was the divorce agreement.

She was sure that Desmond was not joking last night.

He was serious.

She scrunched her arms around her knees in pain and felt suffocated as if an iron cone had pierced through her chest.

She did not know how many times

her phone had rung before she mechanically picked it up and put it next to her ear. "What are you doing? It's time for us to fight for Josiah's birthday banquet tickets! I called you many times, but you didn't answer!"

But Mia just looked blankly at the document in her hand. She opened her mouth and burst into tears. "I may divorce soon..."
