Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 41

Meanwhile, Dean and Donna both busied themselves with washing the fruits in the pantry area so they could stay out of the room while Scott was there. They finally returned to the room after seeing Scott leave, but none of them dared to utter a word to Naomi.

They did not know the exact reason behind Naomi’s divorce. Even though after the divorce, Naomi did not appear to be sad, they knew she had to be upset to some degree, since she was married to Scott for three years,

Therefore, they were worried that Scott’s appearance would rip open the bandage on Naomi’s wound.

To their surprise, Naomi did not look at all disturbed after Scott’s visit. On the contrary, both her parents appeared more anxious than she did. Knowing exactly what they were thinking, Naomi could not help chuckling. “Dad, Mom, I’m fine.”

Donna pursed her lips at this and sat down next to Naomi, then, she held Naomi’s hand in hers and said, “My dear, you can cry if you feel sad. Your father and I won’t judge you for that.” Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Naomi stiffened at this. Cry? What was there to cry about?

Donna, on the other hand, had tears brimming in her eyes as she stared at her daughter. Dean, too, had his brows furrowed. Naomi did not know whether to be amused by this or not. “I’m fine, Mom-

really.”

“My love, you shouldn’t keep your feelings cooped up inside you. Your father and I both know how you feel; you’ve been keeping everything to yourself because you don’t want to worry us, but we’re

a family. Your father and I both love you more than anything, and we want to help share your burdens. Don’t hide your feelings any longer, Naomi.”

not want

Donna kept thinking that Naomi refused to share her devastation with them because she did not them to worry, and she was convinced that Naomi would develop a mental health condition if she continued hiding her true feelings.

Naomi sighed. She knew that she had to say something about this, otherwise, her parents would continue to worry about her. “Dad, Mom, I left Scott because I didn’t think my life with him was what I wanted. He’s always busy with work and always away on a business trip, and we rarely ever see each other. Initially, I thought we could get by with a marriage like this, but as time passed, I didn’t feel it was sustainable anymore.

“This isn’t the married life I want. I want to be with someone who’ll be by my side through thick and thin, who’ll be present, understanding, and involved in my life. I want to have children with a man who makes home feel like home.

“I’ve been married to Scott for three years now, but I’ve never felt at home with him, which was why I filed for divorce.”

“You were the one who wanted the divorce?” Dean and Donna finally realized that the divorce happened on Naomi’s terms and not Scott’s.

Naomi smiled and nodded. “Yes. I was the one who filed for divorce, and it had nothing to do with him at all. He’s a good person; we’re just not compatible.”

It was that simple.

Dean and Donna were awestruck by this. This was the entire opposite of what they initially imagined at all.

Naomi stared at them with a look of amusement. “I’m fine, Mom and Dad. I haven’t lost hope in love just because of this failed marriage. I still want to get married someday, and I will continue to live every day with hope and passion. You don’t have to worry about me.”

Naomi was telling the truth, but not the whole truth. She did not admit to her parents that she loved Scott so much that she would never have filed for divorce if she did not discover he was in love with

another woman.

The truth was, as lonely as the past three years were, she was content with the snippets and glimpses of Scott that she got. The only thing that would make everything better was if they shared a child.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the door, Charles‘ heart thumped in his chest as he listened, still clutching the two bags of groceries in his hand.

He had no idea what the reason behind Naomi’s divorce was and never intended to pry, but now he finally understood.

He

e understood what he was supposed to do from here on out.

He knew he was capable of giving Naomi what he wanted–he wanted the same thing as she did.

‘Don’t worry, Naomi. We’ll take things slow and steady,‘ he thought to himself, his eyes glimmering with hope.
