Chapter 157
With two days left until her expected period, Mikayla was taken aback to find it arriving unexpectedly early this month. Uncertain of the time passing, she laid on the bed, awaiting Carlos to emerge from the bathroom.
Carlos stepped out, a towel wrapped around his lower body; he exuded a cool, composed demeanor, his expression finally returning to its usual calm state. His robust upper body unveiled, along with his healthy, attractive sun-kissed skin, perfectly toned chest and abs. Water droplets trickled down. He lifted a corner of the blanket and slipped into the bed. Mikayla felt a chill emanating from him. Obviously, he'd taken a cold shower. "Carlos, you doing okay?" Mikayla peered up at him.
"I'm good! Just get some shut-eye; I'll keep you warm." As he embraced her, she couldn't help but shiver in his arms.
Turning toward Carlos, she saw his lengthy, thick eyelashes accentuating his slender, intense eyes, resulting in a captivating profile. "Or maybe, I should help you?" Mikayla nibbled her lip, as though contemplating a huge decision. Time with Juliet had exposed her to such topics. She marveled at how Juliet discussed them with zest.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
Surprise flickered in Carlos's eyes. He gently kissed her forehead. "Just rest! How many days until your period?"
"Five days!" Mikayla met Carlos's tender gaze, a tinge of regret creeping in.
"Get some good sleep. After five days, I won't hold back! It's a date after five days, game on!" he declared.
With their faces inches apart, his warm breath caressed her face, creating uneasy warmth. Mikayla nodded at his words, signaling agreement. Over time, as Carlos flirted with her, her emotions shifted, her body harmonizing with his instinctively! She eagerly anticipated that forthcoming moment. While the timing was not perfect.
Carlos nuzzled against her neck, their breaths gradually syncing.
That very night, Mikayla delved into a dream-an intensely passionate dream with Carlos. In this reverie, he caressed her just like the night before. However, the conclusion eluded Mikayla upon waking.
When Mikayla woke up, Carlos wasn't by her side. Glancing at the clock, it was only six o'clock. Carlos was an early bird for sure! After she sit up, the silk quilt slipped off. She exclaimed inwardly, 'What in the world?' Clad in only a tiny pair of panties, she couldn't locate her bra anywhere. 'Is last night not just a dream?' She vividly recalled getting all hot and heavy with him. Rolling around under the covers, regrets swirled within her.
An hour later, dressed in her company uniform and makeup on point, Mikayla descended the stairs and spotted Carlos. There he was, in comfy home attire, seated at the dining table engrossed in the newspaper. The sunlight filtering through cast a golden halo around him. He seemed worlds apart from the man she was with last night.
"Mika!" Carlos glanced at Mikayla with a raised eyebrow, exuding an air of regal nobility. A far cry from the man from the night before.
Mikayla approached, her gait measured. "What did you do to me while I was passed out last night?" She shot him an angry look for a moment.
Carlos, his lips thin and alluring, let out a sly smile. "Don't be mad, Mika! Had some unresolved business and felt a bit unsatisfied. So..." So, while she slept, he did his thing! "Nextè time, I'll make sure you're awake for the ride! You played along quite well last night, baby!" Carlos gazed at Mikayla, his demeanor growing reserved, his voice huskier. He almost felt enchanted by her, her visage bringing back the vivid memories of their night together. Her smooth skin, her elegant shape... It felt incredible!
He always knew the right buttons to push. Indeed, last night was no dream. His claim that she willingly participated made Mikayla want to stomp her foot in frustration.
Sensing his intense gaze, she
quickly settled at the dining te
and savored the breakfast Dexter carefully crafted. "Eat up too! Company awaits. I've got a crucial board meeting and can't afford to be tardy." Mikayla stressed this, leaving no room for unnecessary thoughts.
Mikayla's words prompted Carlos to hasten his breakfast without much chatter. Little did she know his underlying motives. Once she's taken care of for these five days, on the sixth day, he'd make his move.
If Mikayla caught wind of his plan, she'd likely blow her top.
Dexter handed Mikayla water for cramps and ginger tea to ward off chills as they headed out. This gesture made Mikayla flush and shoot a glance at Carlos.
"Just filled Dexter in about your cramps, so he'll keep an eye on your diet," Carlos said, lips barely moving, his deep voice carrying. "Dexter's a women's pal around the military base, knows more about this stuff than I do."
Mikayla watched Dexter retreat empathetically, thinking, 'Poor guy. Only Carlos could describe their loyal servant that way.' To honor Dexter's care, Mikayla downed both beverages before departing with Carlos.
At the office, Mikayla tackled pending tasks, and Quinnlyn's knock signaled the gathering of board members. With her documents completed, Mikayla headed upstairs.
Striding in 6-inch heels, Mikayla exuded elegance and stature in her well-tailored company uniform.
Following with files in tow, Quinnlyn felt overshadowed by the goddess-like figure leading the way.
Upon reaching the meeting room, the board of directors had yet to arrive. Quinnlyn discreetly placed files on their desks. "Quinnlyn, skip jotting down Lauren's issue later, just remember it. And fetch me another glass of water."
"Yes, Ms. Salvatore," Quinnlyn replied.
Just as Mikayla wrapped up, the
board members' voices floated in from outside. Quinnlyn opened the door and stood respectfully to side. Efficient, proactive, and sharp-witted, Quinnlyn was godsend in her role, courtesy of

Mikayla's father.
"Seems Ms. Salvatore's marital bliss isn't too rosy! Making an entrance to ruffle us old folks' feathers right off the bat." A man's voice sounded.
