Reclaiming My Broken Luna 2

Chapter 233: Military Leader

Astrid's POVnoveldrama

The room was thick with an awkward silence as everyone processed the unexpected revelation.

Whispers of disbelief rippled through the assembly, eyes darting between Alpha Theron, Drystan, and me. The tension was palpable, a mix of surprise and concern hanging heavily in the air.

I could feel the intensity of Drytsan's scrutiny, his disbelief almost tangible. Before the ceremony, he already made his feelings clear to me.

He is not comfortable about me going back to the Silvermoon Pack and being anywhere near my ex-husband and his new wife, whom he had replaced me with.

Drystan knows more than anyone how much I had suffered because of them, and yet I'll be sent back there again with the task of helping them.

I knew Drystan wouldn't like this, I should have talked to him about this beforehand, but cowardice got the best of me.

Drystan is worried about my safety and well-being. Yet I remained focused on the task at hand, not letting his reaction sway my resolve.

Around us, the other leaders exchanged uneasy glances, their expressions reflecting with concern. They all knew the history. Although I'd be there to help, it still doesn't sit right with them—that the ex-wife would live in the same room as her ex-husband and her ex- husband's new wife.

I couldn't help but steal a glance at Killian and Giselle as I wondered their reaction.

Killian's face was set in disbelief, his brow furrowed, probably processing and contemplating the implications of my presence in their Pack.

Giselle, beside him, wore an expression of shock mixed with concern, her protective instincts flaring.

It's clear that they are both worrying about the complexities of this arrangement.

Suddenly, Asha spoke up, her voice cutting through the tension in the room. "Father, why did you choose Astrid for this role instead of Andros? This should be his job. He's trained for this, and he has the experience to lead the warriors."

Her question hung in the air as she felt that her father's decisions were unfair. In the past, Alpha Theron always chose Andros to handle all difficult and important tasks. She was surprised that the task was given to me this time.

I could already tell what she was thinking yet again. She thinks that I'm stealing everything from her and her brother, just like what she always says.

"Asha, your brother is already in charge of a lot of tasks," Alpha Theron replied, his tone calm yet firm. "That's why I chose to let Astrid handle this. She can focus solely on the Silvermoon Pack without the additional burden that Andros already carries." Asha's expression softened slightly, but her concern remained. "I just want to ensure that we're making the best decision for everyone involved. The stakes are high, and I don't want anyone to underestimate the challenges ahead."

I was surprised at Asha's immediate surrender, which was not like her at all. Asha is a stubborn person who always insists on what she wants. She wouldn't back down, even if it meant angering and going against her own father. Is this because there is a crowd watching us, which is why she didn't dare to disrespect her father?

Alpha Theron nodded, acknowledging her worry. "I understand your concerns, but I have faith in Astrid's abilities. She is more than capable of leading this mission."

Alpha Theron turned his attention to

Alpha Killian

his expression serious.

"Killian, do you have any problem

with the arrangement? I want to ensure that you would be comfortable with Astrid coming to the Silvermoon Pack to lead the training."

All eyes turned on Killian as they waited for his answer. Killian paused, visibly weighing his thoughts. The room held its breath, the tension palpable as everyone awaited his response. Before Killian could respond, Giselle spoke up, her voice steady but resolute. "I have to disagree with this arrangement, Alpha Theron. I don't think there's a need to explain why."

"As a Luna, how could you be so selfish?!" The Alpha of the Ironfang Pack snapped, his face flushed with anger. "How could you prioritize your personal affairs first before your people? This concerns the safety of

innocent people! are

uniting, and if we don't act decisively, lives could be Post."

Giselle opened her mouth to respond, but the Alpha's words left her little room for interruption.

"We need to prioritize the greater good here. Every moment we waste questioning decisions is another moment we leave our packs vulnerable," The Alpha of the Darkwood Pack spoke up as he glanced a strong gaze across Giselle.

"I appreciate your concern, Alpha

Theron," Killian finally spoke up,

directing his words to the Alpha who

was talking to him. "I trust your judgment. If you believe Astrid can help strengthen our warriors, then I'll support her presence in the Pack."

Giselle's anger simmered just beneath the surface, but she held herself back, refusing to let her frustration spill over in front of the public. She couldn't believe that her husband would agree so easily.

Even I was also caught off guard. I thought I would hear protests from him first, but he willingly supported my presence in his Pack.

Alpha Theron broke the silence, his voice steady and authoritative. "I'm glad to see that everyone took a practical approach in this situation."

He turned to Killian, his expression earnest. "I need you to promise me that you will take care of Astrid while she stays with you in the Silvermoon Pack. If you fail to protect her, I'm sure you are aware of the consequences of that."

Killian nodded, a serious look in his eyes as he disregarded his threats. "You have my word, Alpha Theron. I will ensure that she is safe and supported during this time."

Alpha Theron glanced at me after Killian spoke his sincere words. We looked at each other, our eyes silently communicating words and understanding that from now on, I wouldn't have to handle things alone.
