Chapter 315: Posessed
Astrid's POV
I rushed to Killian's side without a second thought, my only goal was to protect him. I can see he's outnumbered, pinned down beneath two wolves.
My only thought is to protect him, to fight for him. But as I rip the wolf off of him, something changes. The scent of blood hits me harder, sharper. My claws sink deeper into the flesh, and I can hear my wolf whispering in the back of my mind, 'More. Give me more.
I feel the weight of my wolf coiling inside me, urging me forward as I tear through another attacker. My teeth sink into flesh, the taste of blood filling my mouth, and the rush of power surges through me.
I can feel her - my wolf - pushing me away, clawing at the surface, wanting more.
I should be horrified, but instead, a twisted satisfaction rises within me as I rip another throat open.
This... this feeling wasn't coming from me. It was coming form the wolf who is fighting to push me back and gain full control over my body.
The scent of blood hits me harder, sharper. My claws sink deeper into the flesh, and I can hear my wolf whispering in the back of my mind. 'More. Give me more.'
I shake my head, trying to focus, but it's like wading through quicksand.
With every kill, my body grows heavier, and the sound of my wolf's hunger drowns out my own thoughts.
I feel her slipping into control, dragging me with her. "No. Stop!" I scream at myself, but it's useless.
I watch in horror as my hands-no, her claws - rip through another wolf. The scent of blood is intoxicating, blurring the lines between reason and instinct.
My vision is slipping, clouding with red. I'm trying to hold on, clinging to the last shred of myself, but it's fading, drowning beneath the bloodlust.
'I'll kill them,' my wolf growls, her voice dark and intoxicating in my mind. 'We must destroy them all.' "No," I manage to whisper to myself.
My heart pounds in panic, but my body doesn't listen. My wolf keeps going, slaughtering without hesitation.
I'm screaming inside, but I can't move. I'm locked away, shoved into the back of my own mind.
'Stop, please. This is my body. You have to stop!' But all I hear is her snarls, her unrelenting need to kill.
And then she pauses, chasing her breath, our fur splattered with blood. She had successfully killed all of them, but her thirst for blood wasn't still satisfied.
Slowly, she turned around, sensing life behind her.
And then I see him. Killian.
My heart seizes with terror, a wave of nausea twisting in my gut. The moment my wolf sets her sights on him, I know - she's not seeing Killian.
She's seeing prey.
I fight, clawing at the inside of my mind, desperate to regain control, but it's like trying to hold back a storm. My thoughts are a whirlwind of panic.
'No! Not him!' I scream again, but my voice feels small, powerless.
My body moves without me. My claws extend, my lips pull back into a snarl, and I lunge.
I want to close my eyes, but I can't. I'm forced to watch as I strike him, my claws tearing into his side.
Killian yelps, and the sound shatters
me inside
'No, no, no! Stop!' But it's
not me anymore. My wolf is
relentless, feral, and there's no
stopping her now.
I could hear Killian calling my name, trying to wake me up but I can't. It felt like a nightmare where I was trapped inside my own body.
She circles him, preparing for another attack. I try to scream, but my voice is lost beneath her growl. I'm trapped, helpless, and all I can do is watch as she goes in for the kill.
My heart races, a suffocating weight pressing down on me. I thought this would be it. I thought I was about to kill Killian.noveldrama
And then, a voice.
"Daddy!"
The word slices through the haze, sharp and piercing, cutting through my wolf's fury like a blade. My wolf falters, her body tensing mid-air. The primal instinct to kill waver, but only for a second. "Daddy!" Ryker's voice, small and fragile, echoes in my mind, a plea full of fear and confusion. Ryker.
My heart stirs beneath the crushing weight of my wolf's dominance.
It's him. It's Ryker. This the first time I've ever heard him speak.
His voice, soft and tremulous, strikes through me like a bolt of lightning.
He could speak!
But my wolf doesn't care. Her head snaps toward him, her eyes narrowing as she sizes him up, the scent of blood still thick in the air.
Ryker's eyes widen in terror as he stares at his father lying on the ground, bleeding and injured
I feel the wolf's predatory thoughts echo through my mind. 'Weak. Easy prey.'
I instantly freeze up when I heard that. Ryker is my son, technically our son. I couldn't believe she would also desire to kill him.
'No! No, you can't! Not Ryker!' I scream from within, fighting with everything I have.
But my wolf's gaze is locked on him, her muscles coiling, preparing to strike.
She takes a step back from Killian, releasing him, but her focus doesn't shift away from Ryker.
Her thoughts are dark, full of hunger
and the desire to hurt, to kill. I hear
her low growl rumbling in our chest as she eyes him like another target.
"I won't let you hurt my son."
With determination, I willed all the strength I have left to take control over her.
The wolf's attention is fractured,
distracted by Ryker, and for a split second, I see an opening. Summoning every ounce of strength, I forced myself to shift,
sending waves of pain across our
body.
