Chapter 359: Nightmare
Nova's POV
I didn't dream often, or if I did, I never remembered them. But tonight, the images
were vivid and relentless, as if the past had clawed its way into my mind and
refused to let go.
I was small again, no more than four years old, hiding behind a tree as fire consumed our Pack. The acrid smell of smoke filled my lungs, and the air was thick with the metallic tang of blood.
Wolves howled in agony, their cries echoing through the night. My tiny hands gripped the bark of the tree as I peeked out, my heart racing.
A shadow loomed over me, massive and terrifying. "Stay quiet," Liora closely whispered to my ear, her voice steady despite the panic in her eyes.
My older sister, Liora, looked young in my dream, still in her early teenage years. We were both just children, but she was forced to act brave to protect me, taking in the role of being the older sister.
I stared at her, my heart beating in fear. She crouched beside me, clutching a blade in one hand and shielding me with the other.
"Run, if I say so," she added, her tone leaving no room for argument.
I nodded, too scared to speak. Then, the shadow stepped closer, and I saw him.
A man—or at least he looked like one-stood at the edge of the clearing.
His face was shrouded in darkness, but his voice carried through the chaos, smooth and commanding.
"You brought this on yourselves," he said, addressing the Pack. "Defiance has consequences."
I didn't understand his words then, but now, years later, they sent a chill down my spine.
The dream shifted, the edges blurring and twisting.
I was older now, maybe seven or eight, sitting by a campfire in the middle of a dense forest.
Liora was there, her face shadowed by the flickering flames.
She was talking to someone-a man whose voice felt oddly familiar, though I couldn't see his face.
"You can't keep running," the man said. "You belong with us. You're wasting your potential."
"I don't belong anywhere," Liora replied sharply, her posture tense. "And I won't risk my sister for your games."
The man laughed, a sound that made my skin crawl. "You can't hide forever, Liora. You'll come back to us. They always do."
I woke up with a start, my chest heaving as if I'd been running for miles.
"Mommy, did you have a bad dream?" My daughter, stared at me worriedly.
I forced a smile on my face, not wanting to cause her any worries. I raised my hand and caressed my daughter's hair. "I think so," I answered to stop her from a
questions. "I couldn't remet

Her brows furrowed and her chubby cheeks dropped slightly upon hearing my answer. "I'm fine Leira. You don't have to worry," I assured her.
Leira, I chose to give her that name in memory of my sister Liora. Drystan and I both agreed that naming our daughter after Liora would be best.
I wish that my daughter would grow as strong and kind as my sister Liora.
"Okay, mommy. I'm going down to have breakfast. Let's eat together." I watch as Leira ran out of the room, filled with energy as she always do.
As I sat up, left alone in my room, my mind went back to the dream I just had once again. My heart pounded as it felt vivid and haunting.
That voice. I could still hear it, smooth and commanding. I just couldn't remember when I heard it and where that voice came from.
I sat on the edge of my bed, staring at my hands as I wondered why I had that dream once again.
When I was four years old, our Pack was attacked. All houses were burned and all the Pack members were killed. Liora and I were the only survivors of the attack.
I barely remember how it all happened. All I had was just fragmented memories of burning houses and werewolves fighting each other.noveldrama
The only thing that felt familiar to me was the fear and grief that enveloped my heart. In that attack, we lost everything we had, including our family.
I was too young to remember and too young to understand what had happened even had no memory of what my father and mother looked like, but it didn't matter, Liora took on the role of being both parents to me.
She made sure that I was loved and taken care of. She provided for me and made sure I was happy, giving me things I wanted. Despite the situation we were in, she made sure that grew up lacking nothing.
Without a Pack, we had to live as rogues barely going by as we wandered in the forest. Even so, my sister was able to raise me on her own even though she was also just a child herself.
I had always looked up to Liora, admired her strength and her ability to take care of me when the world seemed determined to crush us.
As I thought about it, I wonder how she did it. Every morning Liora would leave to look for food. She would be gone before I am awake, and then she would always come home with food for us to eat.
On special days she would come home with toys for me to play with, and on my birthdays which she never missed, she always made sure I had a birthday cake and a birthday present.
I have no idea where she got those things or how she was able to afford it. As a kid, I was just happy to receive things so I never asked any questions.
We only lived as rogues for four years. When I was eight, and my sister eighteen, we met Drystan who took us in when he found out that Liora was his mate.
Our lives have changed since then. Having a Pack to take care of us and a nice home to live in made our lives easier
It was also then when I stopped having nightmares about the attack that happened in our Pack.
I really don't know why after all these years, that nightmare resurfaced once
again.
