Chapter 840 Unexpected Invitation

Chapter 840 Unexpected Invitation

The old man smiled and walked over to Finn.

He sat down on the seat beside Finn and said slowly, "Are you Finn? Finn Chen?"

Finn surveyed the old man. His cheeks flushed red and he looked energetic though he was in old age

and there were some wrinkles on his face.

"Yes, but you address me too politely."

"Mr. Chen is so modest. You deserve to be highly respected considering your status in the business

world and your martial arts skills."

"But you sent such a rude man to invite me here and had him told me that you would inform Mount Tian

Sect of my whereabouts if I didn't go with him. That's your meaning, right?"

The old man did not apologize when he heard Finn's question, but just said in a calm tone, "If I didn't

say so, it might be difficult to invite you to come here. But I can guarantee that if Mr. Chen really doesn't

want to visit, I won't be able to do that rude. I have always admired Mr. Chen."

"You admire me? Are you kidding?" Finn said with surprise.

But the man looked calm and continued, "Mr. Chen, let's get down to business. I don't think you would

like to waste your time on such trivial matters since you are here."

The old man tried to muddle through, but Finn didn't want to waste more time though he didn't like the

man.

"Well, let's get down to business. I'll settle the things with you when I deal with the matters."

The old man gave a dry laugh.

"If it wasn't for Mr. Chen's 300,000, I wouldn't have known that Mr. Chen had come to this desert. That

300,000 made me do a lot more things for the desert, so I won't complain about anything." The old man

said it with a smile, so did Finn.

"I asked the red-haired man to tell you that you must haven't given enough money to Old Yang so that

he didn't agree to sell that piece of land. You can't blame me. I didn't expect that the red-haired man

would betray you for 300,000. Did they not tell you?"

The old man felt embarrassed, but still remained composed, though his tone was no longer as mild as

just now.

"Yes, but we are not as rich as Mr. Chen. For you, 300,000 is just a small amount of money, but for us,

it's hard-earned money."

"No, my money is also hard-earned money." Finn interrupted him immediately.

The old man did not dwell on this matter as the argument wouldn't yield anything useful.

"I am not arguing with Mr. Chen about this, or back to business. Since you have come here and

knowing that you are a martial artist, I have thought of a thing that you will be interested in."

"Yes?" Finn was curious.

The old man then gestured to the girl beside him to place something on the coffee table in front of Finn

and them.

The girl slowly uncovered the cloth, and it was a small box with a very delicately embroidered peony

embedded with gold silk on the outside.

"Open it up."

The girl used a small key to unlock the box when she heard the old man's order. Then box then clicked

to open.

Finn peeked at it with curiosity, but he did not see something. What was inside was a delicate pure gold

box.

Not only Finn, even Sienna was staring it.

The old man asked the girl to put the small box in front of Finn.

"What's in this?" Finn asked.

"Just a small, insignificant thing. But before it is open, I want to ask a question," said the old man.

"What do you want to ask? I'm going to lose my patience."

"It's not anything important, but if I don't ask, I won't be able to go on."

"Well, well, go ahead. I hate to go along with men like you," Finn said with dissatisfaction. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

The old man was not angry, and continued, "I don't think Mr. Chen is greedy, cunning, and inhumane

and will betray his friends and relatives as the rumor has said."

"Stop," Finn hurriedly waved his hand to stop the old man from going on, and he asked in confusion,

"What rumors? Who said I am greedy, cunning, inhumane? Who the hell spread this rumor?"

"I didn't mean that. But in the Chen family, Yanchin, and City C, they would judge you like that. But in

my mind, that wouldn't be the case. You won't go so far if you're such an evil person," the old man

chuckled.

Although the old man stood by Finn, Finn did not appreciate him.

He just didn't know he would be so notorious and infamous now.

Sienna also looked at him with a sneer.

"Well, whatever. If I teach them a lesson, they would say that I have become more powerful."

The old man still chuckled, and he continued, "I just want to ask if Mr. Chen is willing to pay another

sum of money? If we have the money, we can continue with our undertaking, if not, then we have to

stop it."

Finn looked at the old man suspiciously and asked, "How much?"

"Not much, two billion." The old man raised two fingers, on which years had left marks.

Finn looked as calm as ever, although the amount of money was large and it was enough to buy a

village.

"Two billion is a lot. If it is two hundred thousand, I can give it to you without hesitation. What are you

going to do with the money?"

"I knew Mr. Chen would not refuse me. As long as you are interested, then I am sure I can let you give

us two billion."

Finn was interested.

"I'm curious how you're going to let me give you the two billion."

The old man pointed to the small goal box in front of him and said, "The answer is in here."

He asked the girl who was standing by to open it.

The box made of gold was more gorgeous than the box just now, although the size was much smaller,

the carving on it was exquisite. The faintly visible carved patterns on the flowers were like real.

Finn, who had seen famous antiques and fine art, was amazed by the piece of product.
