Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 19

After enjoying the sight of seagulls, Gerald took Abigail and Sabrina to a restaurant where it was difficult to get a table.

"Gerald, you're quite good at taking photos, huh?" Abigail complimented him and showed Sabrina the photos. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.

"Sabrina, I should have told you before posting your photos," Gerald said.

After some hesitation, he confessed. "Actually, I have some ulterior motives. There were more than just me who liked you in the private room that day, so I did it intentionally. If you're not happy about it, I can delete them."

Sabrina wasn't exactly unhappy, but she hadn't finalized her divorce with Nelson yet and didn't want to invite unnecessary trouble.

She was contemplating how to address it with Gerald when she saw Nelson liking the post.

Abigail's expression immediately darkened.

Sabrina managed to keep herself composed, but she didn't feel good.

Whether it was getting married, divorced, or now, Nelson's actions were hurtful. It was akin to having a thorn in her finger—not intensely painful, but deeply uncomfortable.

Seeing Sabrina looking distressed, Gerald panicked. "I'll delete them right away."

Sabrina came to her senses and forced a smile. "It's okay."

She had overthought it. In Nelson's eyes, she was just a plaything. Why would he care?

Sabrina pushed aside her thoughts and focused on enjoying the food.

In the following days, Nelson didn't contact her, nor did he bother her about Pamela's endorsement.

Sabrina was relieved. She thought that when he said he wouldn't divorce her that day, it was probably just a scare tactic. In a few days, he would accompany her to get the divorce certificate and give Pamela a proper status.

On Friday night, Sabrina wanted to visit her mother, Cheryl Jenkins, at Wyatt Manor.

She had some last-minute work at the office and didn't finish until 9:00 pm.

There were several missed calls from Wyatt Manor on her phone. When Sabrina called back, she found out that Cheryl hadn't returned since the evening.

Cheryl occasionally experienced bouts of senility after Samson passed away. She was fine, as long as she wasn't stressed.

When Sabrina got home, she asked the caregiver and learned that Cheryl had gone out to look for the brooch.

"What brooch?" Wasn't it in Nelson's possession?

Sabrina's breath caught in her throat. She checked Pamela's Instagram and found out that she was wearing the brooch to film a show.

At once, Sabrina's eyes welled up with tears. How could Nelson do this?

She vaguely understood that his like on Gerald's Instagram post was a warning.

He had mentioned that he wasn't patient and wanted her to behave. So he was waiting for her here.

Did he know that the brooch was Samson's keepsake?

Sabrina sighed. These things didn't matter now. What mattered was finding Cheryl first.

Over the past two years, Cheryl's condition remained stable, and she stopped wearing the location tracker watch.

The weather in Slitton wasn't good today, with a forecasted sleet. There was no snow, but the drizzling rain was bone-chilling in the night.

Sabrina found Cheryl soaked at the cemetery on the mountain.

Cheryl wasn't very lucid. "Darling, why did you give the brooch to someone else?"

Sabrina felt terrible hearing this.

"Mom, let's go home first, okay? The brooch is at home. You forgot, didn't you?"

"Sabrina, your dad was murdered," Cheryl said again.

Sabrina knew. The person who wanted to kill the Tucker father and son back then found out that Samson saved them and came back for revenge.

"Mom, let's go home first, okay?"

On the way home, Cheryl kept talking about the brooch, saying it was her treasure.

It was already early morning when Sabrina brought Cheryl to the hospital.

Alone on a bench at the hospital, Sabrina thought for a moment before dialing Nelson's number.
