Chapter 21
"Depends on your performance." Nelson's tone was rather perfunctory.
Sabrina didn't like his answer and insisted on getting some clarity. "Be more specific. What kind of ambiguous answer is that?"
He fell silent, focusing on leaving marks on her fair and slender neck.
Sabrina understood. Since she was here, she had already lost the upper hand. There was no choice but to cooperate, unless she didn't want the brooch.
But Nelson didn't go further.
Sabrina felt both pain and numbness all over her body.
As for him, apart from slightly heavier breathing, his eyes were clear. He was completely unaffected by desire.
Just then, her tears started flowing again.
Seemingly repulsed by her tears, Nelson frowned and shook his hand before heading upstairs.
He was impeccably dressed, while she was in disarray. Sabrina quickly covered herself with a thin blanket.
She wanted to slap him, but the thought of Cheryl's condition made her swallow her anger and humiliation.
…
Nelson stood under the cold water for a long time until the flame of desire in his body was finally extinguished.
He pressed his lips into a fine line. His eyes darkened as he recalled how she had arched her body and unconsciously tilted her neck.
Leaving the bathroom, Nelson got into bed, not intending to bother with her anymore.
As he was about to fall asleep, he remembered something and went to the guest room, but she wasn't there.
He went downstairs and saw Sabrina curled up under a thin blanket, looking pitiful.
The moment he touched her forehead, he confirmed that she had a fever. He looked down at her. Her normally translucent face was now flushed.
When Nelson picked her up, Sabrina was woken up. Struggling, she said, "W-What are you doing?"
"Having my fun with you."
She turned her head away and stopped moving.
As he dropped her onto the bed in the master bedroom, Sabrina felt bitter.
He didn't have feelings for her anymore, but he still wanted to be intimate with her here. It was ridiculous.
She numbly crawled under the covers, but Nelson left.
Sabrina was rendered speechless.
She was very tired. She hadn't eaten dinner because of the meeting, and the warmth left by him in the blanket made her eyelids heavier and heavier. She didn't want to force herself to wait for him anymore.
When Nelson returned to the room with a bowl of chicken soup, he saw her lying on the pillow. Her straight nose and red lips were exposed, and her long hair was scattered across the pillow. With the faint light shining on her face, her beauty stunned him for a moment.
Sabrina was awakened and looked at him displeasingly. But she was taken aback when she saw the chicken soup he handed her.
"You want me to feed you?" Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
This situation was completely unexpected. Sabrina didn't know how to react. She took the bowl and went to the couch by the window.
She wasn't used to eating in bed.
Nelson leaned on the foot of the bed, watching her drink the chicken soup gracefully.
When the bowl was empty, he spoke up. "Take this medicine."
Sabrina hummed in acknowledgment and went to take the medicine. She was surprisingly obedient.
The moment she approached him, he grabbed her arm and pulled her into his arms. "Are you going to get sick every time I touch you?"
Last time, she fainted before they finished and even ended up in the hospital.
This time, it was even more exaggerated. She had a fever, even though nothing much had happened. How delicate.
Nelson pinched her chin again and said, "You should be called dainty damsel instead of sweetheart."
"Don't talk nonsense." Sabrina's heart trembled inexplicably. She pushed him away and took the medicine.
The atmosphere was amorous and strange.
Sabrina exhaled, warning herself not to be dazzled by this moment of warmth.
She lay back down. This time, she took off the sweater she had been wearing.
The lights went out, and Nelson's sturdy and warm body pressed against hers. His lips touched her ear as he said, "Break things off with Gerald."
