Chapter 19
REX’S POV
She stood there; her gaze fixed on me, not averting her attention from me. She took out her notebook and scribbled something before handing it to me.
Rex?
My eyes widened as I realized she had not forgotten about me, my love.
However, why is she mute? Why did Mum not state that she was mute?
I stood there, tears streaming down my cheeks. I waited for her for millennia, unable to process that. I was incapable of accepting that I had let her down. Regrets about how we met decades ago raced across my mind. We met for the first time on the day I stole her innocence. I lost her the following morning. I never learned what she liked. I learned nothing about her. I knew nothing about her except for her scent. After all these years, I find myself in front of her. I’m here after banging another woman.
Why did I have to meet her today after what I have just done with another woman who is not my Reina?
I met Reina, the love of my life. This is ludicrous. I’m still in disbelief that she’s standing just in front of me. However, she looked around and began fleeing from me. There is no way I’m ever going to lose her again. She was quick, but I was quicker. I wrapped my arms around her from behind.
“You are not going anywhere. I mumbled in her ear, “You’re not going to abandon me again. You’re coming home with me to be with me, where you belong. I dare you to flee once more. Do not force me to use my command against you.”
I could see her regaining her composure. However, she was about to flee once more. I embraced her tightly. From the back,
“Please,” I pleaded.
I have never pleaded with someone in my life, despite the tears that were streaming down my face. The last time I begged was when she abandoned me hundreds of years ago. I pleaded with my mum to return her. No, she is not permitted to leave. She turned and locked her gaze on my tear-stained eyes. Then she picked up her notebook and began writing again.
“Did he not order you to come and retrieve me?”
I locked my gaze on her and mused, “If only she could explore my heart.” However, it is pointless. She probably has no idea what she is.
How will she know I am her other half?
“I assure you that no one sent me, and I intend to take you home with me.”
She was battling me, but I was unconcerned. It’s useless to stand here and prove that I was not sent. I escorted her inside the car, locked the door, and requested that John reverse the car. I texted Marcus to request a complete overhaul of my chambers, including the artwork. Everything needs to be altered. I’m not going to let my Reina sleep in a bed where I’ve fucked women. I want our bedroom to be exclusively ours. When we returned home, we moved to my second bedroom, as I knew they would not be able to finish everything in one day. I sat her down on the couch and examined her. Her hands trembled. She lacked shoes and wore prickly clothing. Her hands were covered in scars. I examined her, attempting to determine her size. Then I took out my phone and placed an internet order for her clothing. I approached her, but she sprang from the couch and stepped back.
“Juno, baby, I promise I will not harm you; I simply wish to bathe you.” She reached for her notebook.
“Keep a safe distance from me and refrain from touching me. I will bathe myself if you show me the bathroom.”
What in the world happened to her?
“OK, the bathroom is on the right.”
I watched her enter the bathroom. I sat on the bed, bewildered as to why she appeared to have been homeless for years. I pushed open the closet door and removed one of my pajamas. I know that it will not fit, but this is better than what she was wearing.
Is it possible that someone raped my Reina? I began pacing in circles. Or was it because she was being pursued by wolves? What was the deal with those mutts chasing her? Were they attempting to rape her?Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
They’d be wise not to have intended to rape her.
But why did she write that note, and why does she appear to have lost everything? If I ask what happened to her, will she tell me?
I’ll see if I can find out what happened to her. As I sat on the couch, I noticed her emerging from the bathroom, covered in a towel. I dashed to my bed to retrieve my pajamas for her. She darted into the restroom and returned to my pajamas. I’m hoping the pajamas soothe her. She sat in front of the mirror, her face expressionless. I could see she was upset about something. I walked alongside her.
“Are you angry with me, Juno? Please, my darling. I did not know I would meet you today,” I knelt. I would go to any length for her. She is mine and whatever makes her happy, I will do it. I messed up big time, so I have to gain her trust. I’m brimming with questions about her. She isn’t pure. I’m not concerned; after all, I’ve fucked goddess mother knows how many ladies and today was unusual; my Reina was not supposed to smell anyone on me.
Did she catch a whiff of the girl?
However, I took a bath before going out. Whatever the case may be, I still owe her an apology.
“Please accept my apologies, my love. It is unlikely that anything like this will occur in our lifetime, or for the rest of our days. Please say something.”
She did nothing but look at me with teary eyes.
Is it possible that what I did had an impact on her?
I couldn’t face the sight of her sobbing, so I went to retrieve her notebook.
“Can you tell me why you’re so sad?” She studied me, took out her notepad, and began writing.
“It has nothing to do with you.”
“All right, allow me to assist you with drying your hair.”
I was blow-drying her hair when I unintentionally touched her neck, and she leaped to her feet and raced to the door, standing there panicking and grasping her chest.
What in the world happened to my Reina? Did those wolves touch her?
Honestly, I don’t think I could be of any use to Reina this time. I know I wanted to spend time with her. Maybe I should summon Greta back to the castle. She would know what to do. I don’t want to infuriate Reina any more than I already have.
My brows were wrinkled. She must be joking, right?
“You are free to ask me anything else besides that, my love. I will never, and I mean never, refer to you as anything other than that, my darling.”
She arched her brows back at me, fearful yet defiant, but I held my position. “Anything but that,” I murmured in the back of my mind. She noticed I was not grimacing at the time and continued writing. That notebook was beginning to irritate me. I went online once again and ordered her a phone. When I was finished, I moved my gaze to her and I met with another question.
Where are you planning on spending the night?
I angled the bed.
And, more importantly, where am I going to sleep?
I angled the bed.
I get the bed, while you get the floor. She penned.
I stood there horrified.
Did she want Rex, the monarch, to sleep on the floor?
“No!” I exclaimed angrily.
Floor
“No!”
That’s fine; then I’ll sleep on the floor. She penned.
“All right, I’ll sleep on the floor,” I said with a groan.
Then the silly creature began laughing at me. My first step was to enter the bathroom and take a shower when I emerged. Reina was already fast asleep; she had eaten no food. No, I am not going to let her sleep on an empty stomach.
Would it be detrimental to her health if I woke her up to eat? Let me leave her. She will eat the following day.
Can’t you see she needs to eat, you stupid moron? She’s probably too afraid to ask for food from us. When will Greta, the elderly wolf, arrive?
“The problem with you, no name, is that you speak excessively.”
At the very least, I get to sleep in your head as you’ll toss and turn on the floor.
This is the sole animal I despise. He prefers to be in control, whereas I am in control of others.
Why did my mother feel compelled to endow me with so much authority? Including this no-name, for whom I have no idea when Juno will reveal his name, as she is the only one who is aware of it, but something is wrong with my Reina. To begin, she is unaware that her wolf is not a just wolf but a Lycan. If she knew that, no one could walk all over her, Has she forgotten everything about herself? How is it that she recognizes my name but has forgotten that she is a Lycan? I want to regain my badass Reina. My naughty little stubborn Lycan. I want her back!
