Chapter 25

I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms.
"Of course, Gina" I said.
"It's Luna to you, you little brat. Got it?"
I took a deep breath "Yes Luna"
As I turned away, I could hear Gina's laughter. Back in the kitchen, I started over. My hands were shaking, and I could feel the hot tears streaming down my face.
I tried to focus on the task, but I was filled with pain and anger. I made the eggs again, praying that this time they would be acceptable. When I returned to the dining hall, I placed the new plate of eggs in front of Gina.noveldrama
She didn't even bother to look at them before throwing them across the room.
"These are terrible! Can't you do anything right?" she snapped.
I took in a deep breath, wondering what bad deed I must have done for the moon goddess to punish me like this.
"I'm waiting!" Gina screeched.
I turned back to the kitchen, feeling utterly defeated. I made the eggs one more time, putting all my effort into getting them just right.
My heart was heavy, and I felt like I was on the verge of breaking. When I
finished, I took a deep breath and carried the plate back to the dining hall. I placed the plate in front of Gina, my hands shaking. She picked up her fork and took a bite.
For a moment, there was silence. Then, she nodded. "This is good" she said.
I sighed in relief. "Thank goodness" I muttered.
I was busy in the kitchen when I heard Gina call my name again.
What did she want now? I wiped my hands on my apron and made my way to the living room. Gina was
there, sitting on the couch with an et
smirkon her face. My parents sat beside her. I stood in the doorway, unsure of what to expect.
"You called for me, Luna?" I asked. Gina's eyes gleamed "Yes, Elise. We have an announcement to make. Just watch." She pointed to the TV.
I watched it with a pounding heart, wondering what was going on. Gina grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. The screen changed to.
as I saw Jackson being interviewed by the press. Oh no. What is it now?
news broadcast. My stomach ad
"We have with us today Alpha Jackson of the Silver Crescent pack. Alpha Jackson, there have been rumors about the former Luna, Elise. Can you confirm if she has been permanently stripped of her title?"
Jackson nodded "Yes, that is correct. Elise has been permanently stripped of her title as Luna." I felt a sharp pain in my chest, but it was nothing compared to what came next.
"Can you tell us why?" the reporter asked. Jackson's expression darkened, "Elise cheated on me with a noble and committed numerous horrible crimes. Her actions were a disgrace to our pack and to me personally."
The press gasped. In that moment, I felt like the ground had been ripped out from under me.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Jackson was lying, and he was doing it so convincingly. This was the second time he was embarrassing me publicly. My parents stood up.
"It's the Lycan King, isn't it?" my mom shrieked "I knew it! *
"You betrayed your pack and your family?" my dad asked.
"No!" I cried "That isn't true! I didn't do any of those things!" My father's eyes were cold.
"You've brought shame upon us all, Elise." I tried to defend myself "I swear, I didn't do any of it! Jackson is lying!"
My mother walked forward and slapped me. I gasped in shock. "I wish you had died when you were kidnapped by the rogues," she spat.
Tears streamed down my face as I stumbled back. The pain and betrayal I felt was overwhelming. "How can you say that? I'm your daughter!"
"You're no daughter of mine," my mother hissed. "You're a disgrace." I couldn't take it anymore.
Their accusations and the lies being broadcasted for the world to see were too much. I turned and ran away with tears in my eyes.
What do you think?
