Scarred Alphas

Chapter 27

Chapter 27

The letter looks like it was

written hastily. I start reading it.

‘I will come to you soon. You

are safe. He won’t hurt you. He is too excited to have you back right now.‘

To have me back…then he

was telling the truth? Am I really that man’s daughter?

I continue to read the letter.

‘Cass, I will find a way to get

us out. Please, trust me.‘

And that is how the letter

ends.

“Trust him…of course, I trust

him.”

I don’t think I have ever

trusted anyone this much

besides Lauren and

James…Lauren and

James…oh how I wish to see

them right now.

I am afraid. I am scared. So

suddenly everything has changed.

The door abruptly opens and Poppy strides in. I

immediately hide the letter

in my jeans pocket.

“It’s time to go, princess,” she

says.

“Why are you calling me

that?” I ask.

“The Alpha told us to call you this and he has his own reasons. In his world, he is king and you are his

daughter, his successor to be Alpha of our pack.”

“Alpha? Female werewolves are not Alpha’s of packs even if they are of Alpha blood.”

“You will be the first then. He

will have no other taking

over the pack now.”

This is all so overwhelming.

Poppy sees my hesitation and she sighs. “Look, I get that suddenly everything is different. But…you need to be on your toes here. This pack is…a hard pack to be a part of and we do things differently. That is how the Alpha likes it.”

“The Alpha…my father…he is

cruel, isn’t he?”

“Beyond belief,” she says without any hesitation. “But

that is only if you are on his

bad side. Never be on his bad

side.”

I nod.

She continues. “But a word of advice for you…don’t just follow orders because you are afraid of him. Everyone

does that. I saw how he

looked at you when you

refused his command. He

seemed…intrigued. No one

ever refuses him and I don’t mean just because of his power.”

“Power, tell me about that. I keep hearing this but I don’t

understand this.” I say with

eagerness.

“I am sorry but the car is already waiting for you.”

She walks out and I follow

her. Three guards stand in the hall and as we pass by them, they follow us.

As we stand in front of the

elevator waiting for it to

come to us, I want to ask her

more but she doesn’t seem to

be in a chatty mood now.

When the elevator doors

open, Colt is there with

another man.

Goddess! All I want to do is

run into his arms and let

him hold me but I restrain

myself.

After seeing me, he averts his gaze and looks straight ahead. I stand right in front of him but we are very close

because now the elevator is

cramped.

As the elevator doors close

and the contraption starts to move, my hand pulls back and touches his hand. It is

impossible for anyone to see

this.

I honestly thought that he would pull away but he

doesn’t. He caresses my hand

back and it makes me feel so

much better. My b*dy completely relaxes and I am

sure he can see it.

I am forced to separate from him when the door opens

and we all have to move out.

We walk towards the

entrance and I am very

aware of Colt behind us.

Once outside, two black cars

stop in front of us. One of

the guards—a tall big guy

who looks more like one

with Alpha blood- opens

the door for me and I am

urged to get in. Poppy slides

next to me and then the

door is closed.

“We will ride alone?” I ask

looking back and seeing Colt get into the other car and

then I see Victor get into the

same car with him.

“Yes,” Poppy says. “Every member of the Alpha family rides separately in their own

car. This is in case there is an

attack. It makes it harder to

kill off the Alpha family.

Alpha Warrick already went on ahead.”

“I see.”

She suddenly points to the

guard that just got into the front passenger side. The one that opened my door.

“This is Serge, he will be guarding you for now.”

Serge looks back and gives me a nod. “Princess.” His

voice is so low and it almost

scares me but he doesn’t look mean. He is so big and on the chunky side that it

reminds me of a big bear

instead of a wolf.

“How long is it going to take us to get to the pack?” I ask

Poppy

“A few hours. By now the

house must have been

informed of your arrival and they will be out to greet you

when we arrive.”

The ride is longer than I thought it would be. I am quiet most of the time but that is because I am in my

head thinking about

everything that has

happened and wondering about what will happen now.

I take a look at Poppy who

seems distracted staring at

the scenery.

Such a pretty lady. She looks

so nice, poised, and calm.

“How did you end up as one of Warrick’s mates?” I gasp the moment that question leaves my lips. “I am sorry. I

shouldn’t have asked that.”

She smiles. “It’s quite alright. My real mate was a brute. He

would beat me, starve me, rape me. Alpha Warrick may be many things and a cruel man to most but he has

never mistreated his brides

in that kind of way. We may

be wall ornaments to him

but, it is better than the hell I

was living.”

Not once did she feel sorry

for herself as she said all this.

She was so open about it.

“So you willingly became

one of his mates…”

“Yes.”

“What about the others?”

“Lotus and Jasmin,” she says.

I look at her confused

because I thought Skye was one of his brides.

“I know, flower names. I don’t know why Alpha Warrick has a thing for

changing our names to the

names of flowers but I don’t

mind it to be honest.”

Oh! So one of these girls is

Skye. That’s an odd thing to

1. do.

“Lotus is nice and is the one

who has been the longest with Alpha Warrick. She is

also Victor’s mother.”

So then that means that

Jasmin must be Skye.

“Jasmin…she is young and

eager to please in all the

wrong ways.”

As she talked all this time,

she never ripped her eyes

from the scenery outside

until now when she turns to

1. me.

“I’ve heard of your mother. Dahlia…or Casseopea. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet her. She was Alpha

Warrick’s true mate. When

he felt her die…that is the

only time he acted out of

character. He retreated to his

room for weeks. He thought

you had died too.”

“You make it seem like he is

such a thoughtful man.”

“He is not. But he loved your

mother. And you are her

daughter…” she leans in and

whispers. “…use that to your

advantage.” As quickly as she

leaned in, she pulls back.

“We are here.”

I look out the window and I

am astounded.

“Uhm… what is this?”

There is a luxurious mansion

standing in front of us and

behind it, there is a field and

in the distance, there is what I am sure is a pack house.

“This is the main house.

Where the Alpha family, the

Beta family, the brides, and

the generals stay. Not the pack house.”

“This house is…”

“It is a modern mansion with

a hint of a Victorian style.”

Outside, I notice a bunch of

people standing and looking in our direction.

Serge opens the door for me and I step out where the people start greeting me. They lower their heads and

call me princess.

Warrick walks out of the

house with a big smile.

I take in a deep breath. I know I have to play this

game so I force a small smile on my lips.

“You’ve finally arrived.

Come. We are having dinner

now and tomorrow we will

have a celebration to honor

your return and to introduce you to the pack.”

He puts a hand on my back as we walk up the stairs that

lead to the front door. Once

inside, I can’t help but gape at the magnitude of this house. It is unlike anything I

have ever seen. The word

Luxurious comes short.

Two sets of stairs lead to the

upper floors, one on each

side of the wall, and in

between them, there is a hall.

“During this dinner, you will be meeting my brides, your brothers, the Beta, and my generals. Dress accordingly.” He turns to Poppy. “Show

her to her room.”

She nods at him and starts

walking up the stairs. As I

follow her, I look behind me

to where Colt now walks in.

He glances at me but quickly looks away. I am learning not

to take that personally. I

know he can’t react to me

but I still really don’t like it.

Suddenly a girl runs toward Colt and jumps on him, giving him a tight hug.

“You are back! I was so

scared! I thought I’d never see you again.” She leans back and cups his face with

her hands to look at him.

The last thing I am able to see before turning to a hall is Colt pulling back before she

almost k*sses him on the

lips.

Needless to say, I am

suddenly seething inside. I

feel like I am going to blow up like a volcano.

Poppy starts speaking bringing my attention back to her and I take this

moment to calm down as we

enter a hall on the left side of

the house. “The left wing is

the Alpha families wing and this is your room.” She stops

in front of a white door.

They are all white and they have beautiful carvings on them. It looks very regal.

She opens the door and I

have to stop for a moment to

take it all in. “This…is my

room?”

“Yes. It is your own suite.” She walks inside and goes through another door where she disappears. I start looking at everything. There is an area that is a living space with sofas and a TV and then on the other corner is my bed. Then on the wall

that is next to the door that

leads outside, there is a small

kitchenette. It is like a large studio apartment. It has soft pink sofas and white

curtains. Everything has light and pastel colors and it

looks so peaceful.

Poppy walks out with a dress in hand. It is ivory in color

and covered in rhinestones.

“This will do nicely. Put this on while I go get my makeup

kit.”

I blink at her a few times.

“Here,” she says putting the dress in my hands.

I take it and she immediately

leaves. I stare down at this

dress and then take a deep

breath. I take my clothes off and then carefully start

putting it on but I can’t seem

1. to. It has buttons on the back

and I can’t reach them so I

struggle but luckily, Poppy

comes back.

“Let me help you with that.” She moves me to the big Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

mirror in the corner and

buttons up my dress.

I am mesmerized as I look at

myself in the mirror. I have never seen my b*dy look so good before. Poppy moves the hair that covers my

shoulder as she also looks at

the mirror. “Perfect,” she

whispers. “A mermaid–style dress suits you just right.”

My scars are fully visible but somehow, they don’t bother

1. me. This dress looks too

good on me to make me care

about my scars.

I look up at her and see her looking into my eyes now. “It was your mothers.” She says. “The dress and this room

were your mothers.”
