Second Thoughts After Divorce

Chapter 93

Rose’s

POV

Two weeks had passed since we embarked on the journey to create a haven for the children coming to live at Jacob’s pack. As I stepped outside onto the newly landscaped grounds of the estate, I couldn’t help but marvel at the transformation that had taken place.

The once barren and neglected surroundings were now bursting with life and color. Vibrant flowers bloomed in every corner, while carefully manicured lawns stretched out before me. The air was filled with the sound of laughter and chatter as pack members worked tirelessly to put the finishing touches on the children’s facility – everyone wanting to help and get involved,

I think many of Jacob’s old pack members felt guilty for the crimes their Alpha committed and longed to support Sawyer as best they could now moving forward.

Sawyer had fully settled in to his role as the new Alpha and already had developed bonds with many of the pack members here.

Turning to walk through the halls of the estate, I watched as decorators hung colorful artwork on the walls and set up cozy reading nooks filled with books and toys. Every detail had been carefully thought out, from the soft, plush rugs that lined the floors to the cheerful murals that adorned the

walls.

Outside, volunteers worked to assemble playground equipment and set up outdoor play areas where the children could run and play to their heart’s content. A sense of anticipation hung in the air as we prepared to welcome the first group of children to their new home.

As I made my way to the kitchen to check on the progress of the meal preparations, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in what we had accomplished in only two weeks. It had been a labor of love, but seeing the smiles on the faces of the pack members as they worked together to create something beautiful made it all worthwhile.

In the kitchen, the scent of freshly baked cookies filled the air as volunteers bustled about, preparing a feast fit for a king. The sound of laughter and camaraderie echoed off the walls as we worked side by side, united in our mission to provide a safe and loving environment for the children.

Outside, the sun shone brightly overhead, casting a warm glow over the estate. I took a moment to pause and soak in the sight of the bustling activity around me, feeling a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of something so meaningful.

As the day wore on, the final preparations fell into place. Tables were set with colorful tablecloths and fresh flowers, ready to welcome the children to their first meal in their new home. Volunteers lined up to greet them, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation.

“Not long now, they will be here in twenty minutes!” I turn to find Ashton approaching me, wrapping his arms around me and leaving a little room between us for my bump.

Speaking of which, had now felt like it had doubled in size!

So far everything remained healthy, but as my due date grew closer, my anxiety heightened with all of the what if…

“I know, hopefully they like it here.” I sigh, feeling nervous about how they would react to living somewhere new

“Anything is an upgrade to what they’ve been through Rose, they will love it. The idea is for them to feel safe here. He calmas me with his comment, as 1 nod and chew my lip.

As the minutes ticked by, anticipation filled the air, and my nerves began to settle as I focused on the task at hand. With Ashton by my side, I took a deep breath and reminded myself of the purpose behind all the hard work we had put in. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

As the clock struck the appointed time, a commotion outside signaled the arrival of the children. Heart pounding, 1 hurried to the Ashton, where a group of pack members stood ready to welcome then off from the buses.

The children, some shy and others wideeyed with wonder, stepped tentatively onto the grounds, taking in their new surroundings with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. I smiled warmly as 1 approached them, offering gentle words of welcome and reassurance.

I pushed back the tears, looking at how young some of them were, left without families and all alone… it was heart wrenching.

“Welcome, everyone,” I said, my voice filled with warmth and sincerity. “We’re so glad you’re all here. This is your new home, and we’re all here to help you feel safe and loved. I announce, with some of their eyes twinkling in wonder as they stared at the large building before them,

The children exchanged glances, but the kindness in our eyes seemed to ease their fears. Slowly, they began to relax, their expressions softening as they Took in the rights and sounds of their new environment – being guided inside for a tour.

Ashton stepped forward, offering a reassuring smile as he knelt down some of their levels. “We’ve worked hard to make this place feel like a home for you,” he said, his voice gentle yet firm. There’s plenty to explore and discover, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.”

With that, the children began to venture further into the estate, their curiosity overcoming their initial hesitation. Volunteers led them on tours of the facilities, showing them the bedrooms where they would sleep, the classrooms where they would learn, and the play areas where they would have fun and make friends.

Watching them explore their new home filled me with a profound sense of joy and fulfillment. This was what we had worked so hard for to create a safe haven where these children could heal, grow, and thrive.

As the day drew to a close, the children gathered in the dining hall for their first meal together. Laughter and chatter filled the room as they shared stories and exchanged smiles, their spirits lifted by the sense of camaraderie and belonging that surrounded them.

Ashton and I watched from the sidelines, our hearts full as we witnessed the impact of our efforts. It was a moment of triumph, a testament to the power of love and community to bring about positive change in the world.

As the children settled in for the night, their laughter fading into the quiet hum of contentment, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. Despite the challenges that lay ahead, I knew that we had made a difference- and that was all that mattered.
