Chapter 12 ~Nearly Impressed~
Chapter 12 ~Nearly Impressed~
~~ THEME SONG OF THIS CHAPTER ~~
IRIS'S POV ~~
His hooded eyes were still on me as I struggled to keep my momentum nonchalant under his
intoxicated gaze. As my task was done, I didn't want to spend a second with this scary man.
His presence surprisingly troubled me a lot as if I would go drown under the hypnotising gaze. Tidying
my lawn skirt uncomfortably, I waited for his permission to run out from here but unfortunately he didn't
make a single noise.
Before I could gather up the courage to ask for his permission, his cellphone rang loudly breaking the
stiff atmosphere between us.
His hooded eyes were finally pulled away from me before falling down over the flushed screen gently.
Pressing on the receive button, he hauled up from his spot before drifting further away from me
reaching near the transparent window slowly.
I didn't had enough time to watch over him as my troubled eyes didn't shift away from the location over
the screen. Biting down my lower lips, I cursed the man behind the screen viciously and felt enlarged.
Lucky that he wasn't present in front of me or else I could have chopped him to death.
How dare he meddle in my business?
Once I pulled down the screen, I turned back to take glimpse of his figure. He was standing still in front
of the transparent glass wall as if he was reminiscing in deep thoughts.
I didn't wish to stay a minute thus moving out from my spot, I walked over to him cautiously.
Maintaining a safe distance, I asked nervously,
" Mr President, I think that my task is done. Can I go back to my office now? I still have other things to
do."
My tone was gentle as water but only god knew that how much pressure I was feeling inside.
A moment of silence crept away between us as I stood awkwardly near him. He turned around to face
and kept his ocean eyes glued over me.
I blinked profusely not getting the damn idea behind his cold gaze. His luscious lips suddenly curved up
into an evil smirk before raising up his eyes amusingly.
I swear that my heart stopped working for a moment before I averted my eyes awkwardly. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
He took a slow step near me as I shifted in my spot uncomfortably. Rather than stopping, his
domineering figure started circling me as I stood at the middle dumbstruck.
Taking each tortuous step, his paces were making me tensed up as I speculated his each movements
cautiously.
Cracking into a disbelief smile, he spoke still circling me,
" You have nearly impressed me, Miss Young. You claim yourself a tiny hacker but you have managed
to break the best security system in the state. Should I call you a master of hacking or.."
He paused in his words stopping ahead of me and continued in a deep voice,
" Or you have other names, Miss Young? "
I felt my bones turning frozen as I couldn't believe my own ears at all.
How did he find out so fast? Well, it was half truth. Indeed another third party made an attack except
me. I just needed to solve both problems. But obviously I didn't expect that he could find me out so
easily.
Rubbing my arms awkwardly, I tried to hide my awkwardness and sutured looking somewhere else,
" How.. how.. did you find it out so fast?"
I could feel his smile widened further into an evil smirk and informed me proudly,
" My team check on the history data of each employee's computer. In a word, your computer is being
monitored by us not only you but also each employers here."
My expression sank drastically as I slapped myself hard mentally.
How did you forget that you work under the nation of god, Xavier Gray??
I coughed dryly before burst into awkward laughter to hide my nervousness. Looking up at his face, I
admitted my wrongdoing reasonably,
" Well, I just thought of impressing you in a different way. Tell me, was it exciting enough to impress
you, Mr President?"
He looked down at me timidly and suddenly curled up his lips sarcastically. Gazing through the depth of
my eyes, he answered briefly,
" Not enough, Miss Young. This can be considered as child's play. "
My face sank immediately before retaining her firm determination. Arching up my head haughtily, I
stated confidently,
" Then I will work harder to impress you."
I gave my final words before turning to leave but his tongue interrupted me once again.
As I stepped two steps towards the transparent door, his tone interrupted my paces earning a confused
gaze from me,
" Wait!"
He ordered before taking a glance from the wall clock,
" It's lunch time. Join me."
What?? Is this considered a treat? Can't he even ask nicely?
My self esteem had been hurt again as I decided to teach him a little mannerism. Crossing my arms
over my chest, I stated looking through his eyes,
" Shouldn't you add a 'Please' inside your words, Mr President? After all, we aren't heading for a official
dinner."
His expression turned stiff before parting his lips open to give me a long prepared lecture. But I was
fast enough to cut off his words and added hurriedly,
" It's called simple manner. "
His expression turned black in rage probably but didn't continue the argument further. Straightening his
collar habitually, his aura changed into a completely different person as he stated again in a soft
tongue,
" Can we go for a lunch Miss Young? Please?"
I was stunned before watching at his face astonishingly.
Why did he sound like we are going for a date?
Without hearing my opinion, he walked ahead of me and pushed open the door as I interrupted,
" Didn't you tell me to stay away from you? Won't it bother you if I stay by your side when you eat?"
He paused before turning around and gazing deep at my eyes. I stood there confidently as I didn't
speak anything wrong.
His eyes dimmed alternating between anger and annoyance before giving me a bossy reply once
again,
" Miss Young, don't you think that you ask too much about my private matters even at the first day of
your work?"
My mouth immediately shut up like a stupid as I heard his next line,
" Follow me! Don't speak until I say so!"
I let out a gush of angry groan inwardly as I followed his footsteps briskly not having any damn idea
that where we were heading.
Coming down through the elevator, he walked over towards his black Maybeach as I trailed him off
closely. After hopping into the front seat, I heard his short instructions,
" The Restaurant !"
The driver nodded without asking further about the location and started the engine as I sighed looking
through the window outside.
Shortly after, the Maybeach was parked in front of a five star restaurant as I looked up at the familiar
signboard blankly.
This restaurant.. still exists....!
