She Prince

Chapter 49

Sitting on her knees on the bare cold ground her eyes never leaving the stone in which Henyu’s name is scarped on it. She never moves when she felt warmth of human skin on her right shoulder nor she looked up to see who it is as she knew who it will be.

“How long are you going to stay here?,” ChengLi asks softly, he lets out a low sigh when WanKe remains silent “It will snow soon,” he scouts down beside her.

“I want to be alone for a while,” she finally replies her voice soft, almost fragile, as if it and her heart would break at any minute. Perhaps her heart was already broken.

ChengLi glances at the grave and back at WanKe who’s eyes never left the spot, standing up he taps on her shoulder “Be quick,” he requests his voice breaking, passing her another glance he walks away worried about her.

The environment captures silence where only the sound of the harsh wind is playing in the background, she blinks her eyes when the cold air stung her face. She stares at the stone again not being able to digest the fact that he is gone. She couldn’t believe it nor accept it, the world around her seemed grey and all she has now are the colourful memories.

“Didn’t you say that we will stick together forever?” her voice starts off stern but it breaks down the very next moment. Her dry eyes didn’t let any tears out and still she believed that he would wake up from the grave and come back to her, she wished it to be a play, she wished him to appear behind all of a sudden and tell it was a prank even though she knew that her wishes will never be true.

The memories of HenYu flashes in hey mind making the situation more painful and the air around suffocates her when her mind doesn’t or couldn’t get rid of the days with him.

‘let’s be brothers from now on’

‘Good luck buddy’

‘Keke, that’s how I’m going to call you’

‘You’re my idol’

‘Do you really have nakedmanphobia’

‘You are the best’

‘If you were a girl I will marry you’

‘You are awake?’

‘I was worried’

‘I will always be your first buddy’

‘keke, my brother’

She stays there without moving an inch her eyes never looked away, the environment remains with the eerie silence of stillness the sun rays appear brighter when snow flutters down like confetti. Her memories keeps flowing without leaving a gap, her dry red eyes begins to flood up abruptly when tears begin to prick her eyes as every scene plays crystal clear in her head.

~A month before the exam~

“Keke,” ChengLi calls out, placing the book on the table she faces him. Henyu’s room mate went out so he called Wanke to study along with him.

“We will be going back to our states after two months,” HenYu leans forward “I wish I’ve known you earlier,” he smiles.

“What do you mean?,”

“I wish that we’ve known each other earlier, I know it’s impossible but it would be great if we have spent a long time together,”

“Do you think that our bond ends here?,”

“Nah,” he scratches the back of his neck “I will always visit you even if it is quite far,” he winks at her making Wanke to put up a disgusting expression.

“Do not go back on your word,” WanKe leans forward “I will visit you too,”

“Really? You are most welcomed, even though Long Kingdom is small there are many special things there, especially food,”

“I will surely visit,”

“You should, I want to introduce my brother to my mother,”

“You got to treat me well there then,”

“Sure,” moving behind he rests his palms on the floor leaning over his arms he looks up “It’s like we met yesterday,”

“Time flies,” WanKe blurts flipping the pages of the book.

“Yeah very quick, I want go back quickly It’s been along time,”

“Seeing your family?,”This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yes and seeing her,”

Wanke’s eyeballs slides up immediately to look at him, her eyes goes big watching Henyu’s expression “Her?,”

“Yes! Her,”

“You never told me about it,” she hits him on his arm playfully.

“You never asked about it,” he smiles crookedly rubbing the area where WanKe just punched him.

“Who is she?,” closing the book WanKe leans forward again her focus completely diverted from the book.

“My cousin and childhood sweetheart, we’ve been together for ages and our parents have decided about our marriage when we were eighteen,”

“Wow!,” Wanke claps her hands enthusiastically “I’m eager to know how she looks,”

“Pretty of course, I’m planning to get her some flowers when I go back,”

“I remember someone asking me for girls,” WanKe states rubbing her chin she acts like thinking hiding her smile.

HenYu stares at her for a moment taken back “Just for fun,” he smiles awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

“I’ll inform my sister about it when I visit,” she leans forward with a wide grin.

“No, you won’t,” he brushes off smiling confidentially.

“I will,” WanKe moves her head to the left and right in a rhythm.

“You won’t right?,” he asks the smile on his face disappearing.

Sitting back WanKe opens her book again “I will,” she blurts and begins to study trying to hold back her laughter.

“Will you invite me if I’m going to tell her,” WanKe breaks the silence all of sudden beginning the conversation again.

“Of course I will, I don’t care about anything as long as we stick together,” his smile widens.

“You are the first close friend of mine,”

“And the best,” he completes smiling cheekily.

Layer of white blanket forms on the high land trees heavy with snow on it’s tips, the snow falls slowly landing on her hair and body, clenching her palms she squeezes her eyelids shut hoping her tears which welled up without her control to stop but her choppy breathing and watery eyes remained for sometime and she sat there unmoving.

“I’ll avenge for you,” her voice breaks even though it’s steady, inhaling a deep breath in she lets it out creating mist in her view “Blood for blood,” she utters looking straight, hot tears streams down her face as she couldn’t hold back anymore.

“I’… m… s.. o.. rr.. y,” her words broke and all she could say are stuttering sounds as her lips begin to tremble, moving her numb body she lowers her upper body her forehead landing on the cold ground “S.. o.. rry,” she apologizes again bowing down in front of his grave, wet spots making the ice melt lightly, she has so much in her mind currently but cannot put it out in words as it’s difficult for her to speak, she stays there in the same position letting her tears melt the snow not caring about her surrounding, her silent sobs disappears in the wind as she cannot accept the fact that he is gone.
