Chapter 30 - Before the Celebration
As we're leaving for Huesca the next day, Honey and Jada decide to drop by the mall. They're planning to shop for what they need and the pinks joined them. While in the car, the pinks talked nonstop. They start telling stories about boys, then their topic changes to outfits, then entertainment and everything else. "But in all fairness, byotch, Daniel seems serious about you," Ada stated.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
"Byotch please, he's just bored. Of course, he's far from his family and he doesn't have lots of friends here in our country," Jada retorted.
"Wow! If all men get bored like that, dating and giving random gifts, then we girls would have been very happy," Bambi squealed.
Honey and Jada laughed. Jada suddenly recalled how they were before and she missed it. Back then, they all seemed to be problem free. But in reality, they have issues they can't even tell each other. The gossiping and the laughter stopped when they got to the mall. After parking her car, Jada and her friends went straight to the department store to look for outfits they could wear at the beach. "Sis, you think you can wear this at Huesca?" Honey asked, showing her a neon green two-piece swimsuit.
"Why not?"
"Seriously? I don't think I can. Even if I modeled before, I don't think I can wear something as skimpy as this." Honey even shook her head at Jada.
"Really Ja? You can wear that?" Ada asked again.
Creasing her forehead, she turned to him, "How much is your bet?"
"Two hundred if you can really wear that! No cover-ups!" he responded.
Jada nodded and gave him a thumbs-up as she placed the swimsuit in her basket. All three of them glanced at each other, still in disbelief at what she did.
After two hours of shopping, Bambi complained that he's hungry. Instead of going home, they decided to look for a place to eat.
On their way in, Jada noticed someone familiar in the nearby coffee shop. He's with a woman so she stopped on her track to make sure. it was indeed Lyken.
She stopped on her track to look again, it was indeed Lyken. He's inside a nearby coffee shop with a woman.
She saw how she wiped his mouth and laughed at each other while eating and conversing. But that's not what she's interested in.
What really caught her attention was the very familiar woman Lyken's with. All of a sudden, unwanted memories come flashing back to her mind.
Scenes from that dreadful night started replaying before Jada's eyes. She suddenly felt goosebumps creeping all over her.
Cold sweats started breaking from her forehead down to her neck. Jada's stomach felt like it's being squeezed and she wanted to throw up.
"Ja, are you ok?" Ada asked when he noticed that she didn't follow them. Jada nodded and averted her eyes so Ada won't see where she's looking. "Let's just go home. I suddenly feel unwell," she told them.
Jada was thankful that they didn't ask anymore. They noticed that she's pale and in discomfort, so they just agreed with her.
When they're inside the car, everyone remained quiet. Not one of them was talking and Jada just kept on letting out sighs. She's feeling tense.
Honey, however, noticed something was wrong. She wanted to ask Jada about it, but she couldn't find the courage to do so.
When they reached her condo, she headed straight to her room. She didn't bother telling them, scared that they might ask.
As soon as he sat down on her bed, her tears started streaming. Tears that she's been trying to hide since they left the mall. Tears that she wouldn't want her friends to see. 'Why is he with that woman? What's with them? Did they do it again?'
Random questions started popping inside her head. Questions that she can't even ask anyone. Questions that she wouldn't want to hear the answers to.
She kept crying until she fell asleep. But Jada was woken up by people arguing. She forced herself up and got out of the room.
"Why didn't you even text me? I went to the mall thinking you guys were there, I waited for two hours only to find out that you're already home!" It was Kobe and he sounded mad.
Honey looked irritated as well, she even crossed her arms over her chest before facing her boyfriend, "What do you want us to do? I told you, we panicked, okay? Jada was suddenly feeling unwell and wanted to go home. We don't even know what happened to her and until now, she hasn't even come out of her room!"
Jada wanted to laugh at her, as she still sounded sweet despite her irritation. Watching the two, she let out a heavy sigh and went to the living room
What she didn't expect were the visitors quietly watching the show. Steve, Ada, Bambi, Robin, and Lyken were all seated on her couch.
"Kobe," Jada interrupted. "It was my fault. Sorry!"
He, too, let out a sigh, combing his hair with his fingers, he plopped on the couch. They all remained quiet even after that.
Jada went to the kitchen, poured water into a glass, and drank from it. Then she headed back to the living room and sat on the couch with the rest of them.
I had to stick with my story that I wasn't feeling well earlier and now I'm fine. I did that so that they won't ask any more questions.
"Let's just drink, to make up for you guys!" smiling faintly, she looked at each one of them, waiting for their reaction but they were still quiet until Ada stood up and grabbed Jada's car key.

"I'll buy the drinks. Bambi, come with me!" tapping our friend as he heads to the door.
Jada kept herself busy by looking at her phone though she wasn't really checking anything. She didn't notice that Lyken moved next to her.
She wanted to stand and leave, but she had to keep herself calm. This is not the right time for her drama, her two best friends just argued.
"Are you okay?" Lyken asked and she nodded in response. She didn't even bother to spend some energy to look at him.
From her peripheral view, he saw Lyken nod, lean back and everything's quiet again. After a while, the pinks came and they placed the bottles of vodka on the coffee table.
"I got tequila for you," Bambi told her, "Even if you don't say it, I know you need that right now," he whispered.
She looked at Bambi and smiled faintly at him. He's right. Jada needs a good drink to help her forget what she saw at the mall.
Everyone was still quiet even when they started drinking. She noticed Kobe and Honey whispering at one another, they seem to be okay now. She heard Kobe apologizing to Honey for his outburst. After two bottles of vodka, Ada's machine started. Meanwhile, Jada remained quiet while having a staring contest with her bottle of tequila.
They're leaving for Huesca the next day. Jada told herself that she needs to maintain her composure and not bring any negative vibes along with her.
They will be celebrating her birthday and her friends prepared for it. She doesn't want to ruint it and waste all their efforts. She has to keep herself calm. 'This will soon be over Jada. In the meantime, try to forget everything you saw earlier.'
