“Miss Marshall, for starters. I think she just wanders around all day. If she can’t contribute anything useful, then let her go. And you and Kinsey are relatives. Only one of you should stay in the company to oversee everything. There’s no need for both of you here, draining the payroll. If we fire people like this, we could cut the staff by half. Before Conroy could respond, there was a knock on the office door, and Bryan entered with Gabriela in his arms.

Bryan glanced at Eileen and then turned to Conroy.

“Mr. Finch, how much longer will you need my employee?”

Eileen said, “Mr. Dawson, the VQ Group is on the brink of collapse. You—”

Once in Bryan’s office, Eileen said, “He lied to me, saying VQ Group was nearing collapse and asked me to find a solution. I just played along to have some fun.” There was no real progress.
