Chapter 29 Marry Me
“Wake up, Moo. You have a walk today, don’t you?” Kian’s soft voice woke me up.
My eyelids are heavy- I still want to sleep. If I hadn’t given up, Kian wouldn’t have stopped me all night. He never tires of claiming me. Then the pain in my body especially in my womanhood, that I felt was torn apart. I adjusted the blanket wrapped around my body as I sat up in bed.
“I made us breakfast,” he said before placing the tray containing the breakfast he had prepared for us on my thigh.
“Pain is all over my body. I feel so heavy,” I complained as I frowned at him.
He grinned and scratched his head.
“I’m asking you if you can still do it, you said yes.”
I frowned even more. He pinched my nose and laughed.
“As if you didn’t enjoy it. You keep on screaming my name the whole night. You’re even asking me to move faster on top of you.” He laughed out loud when I hit him with a pillow. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
“I was just joking, Moo. I’m sorry if you’re tired. I just missed you so badly.” He pinched both my cheeks.
“Let’s eat. I’ll come with and take you where you’re going.”
I ate very little but we stayed longer because of Kian’s meanness and jokes. He has changed nothing. Just like the old days, when we were just married.
They say we are too young and rushed into our decisions. True. But I have no regrets. If you wake up every day, the face of the man who first caught your attention is what you can see every day until old age, I have no regrets at all.
“What time will you finish your appointment?” he asked as he stopped his car outside the mall.
“Afternoon, maybe.”
“Okay. I’ll pick you up later.” He kissed me on the lips and he himself removed my seatbelt.
“Take care, Moo. I love you.”
“I love you too. Go ahead. You might be late,” I shooed him away before I got out of his car. I have a meeting today with the interior designer who will fix my shop.
I was an hour early not like we talked about so I went to the coffee shop and will wait there.
I haven’t posted a job hiring yet and I haven’t created a social media page either! It disappeared from my mind last night.
Never mind that. Atleast I have nothing more to worry about Kian and me. And we’re okay now. Very happy again with each other. I feel like I missed him right now. I will finish my appointments early so that I could be with him later. I smile at my thought.
It’s afternoon and I’ve finished everything I’m going to do today. Kian has not yet sent me a message if he has been out of work.
I’m in a Chinese restaurant right now and waiting for Macy. She said she was going to get me here. I frowned when Raul arrived but not with Macy and Barbara. They went straight to my table so I raised an eyebrow. I didn’t say anything.
They scratched their heads and hesitantly greeted me. I think I know this. I pointed to the chair opposite to me and they immediately sat down.
“You’re probably wondering why we’re here,” Raul began.
“We just want to apologize for what happened back then.”
I knew it. I didn’t say anything and just let them speak. I don’t feel bad for them anymore. Time taught me to forgive and forget everything that has upset me in the past. And one more thing, I know that they are not to be blamed for what happened the night before our graduation.
As for their lies to me, I don’t have it anymore.
“It doesn’t matter anymore to me,” I casually reply. They even added explanations to me even though I said I was not angry with them. I felt bad then. That’s a natural reaction if you’re disappointed.
“Thank you, Beth. We’re glad you and Kian settled down. Our friend will finally be happy again,” they added. I smiled.
“Thank you also for reaching out to me even if it’s not necessary. That was a long time ago and I forgot about it too. Good luck in your relationships with my friends.”
I shooked my head. Not again!
“I swear, it’s okay this time,” they convinced me.
“Just make sure.”
“We’re just scared of your husband and your friends.”
We left the restaurant because they said we were going somewhere. It was a surprise. I’m feeling nervous. I remember the last Kian made a surprise like this again.
I was blindfolded while riding in Raul’s car. When the car stopped at our destination they helped me get out of the car. We’ve been walking a few steps but we still haven’t reached the destination.
I was about to complain when they stopped and said we were here. They removed the blindfold from my eyes. The surroundings are dark and only LED lights in the corridor provide lights.
Did they plan on ghost hunting here and didn’t even think to turn on the lights? We were here at my school when I was in elementary. A few steps from here was our classroom then.
I started to step forward and the two just followed me. My palms were sweating as I reach the doorknob. It’s good and the light is on inside.
What the!
Here are some of our classmates. I first looked for Kian and saw him sitting in his usual seat. They replaced the chairs with monobloc chairs because they could no longer fit there. He smiled at me. My eyes went back to where a handsome, tall man was standing at the teacher’s desk.
It took a few minutes before I realized who he was especially when he smiled at me. Gone is the little boy he used to be before. A few years have also passed. What’s up? He clearest his throat before picking up the paper on the desk.
“It was summer when I got to see the most lovely girl I have ever seen,” he began. I laughed softly and rolled my eyes slightly. Our former classmates shouted, imitating what happened that day.
Really?
I looked at Kian who was holding back a smile as he sat in his chair.
Copy cat!
“I secretly peeked at her through the window of my room every morning. She was always quiet. She looked serious even at her young age. But when she smiled. My hearts melt.”
“Because I was young at that time, I was embarrassed when everyone found out that she liked me in front of our classmates. I walked out. And after that day, she became distant to me.” Alden smiled just like before.
“She doesn’t pay attention to me anymore and when we stepped into high school she liked someone else. I feel so frustrated. So I threatened all those who wanted to court her.”
I was now nailed in where I was standing and covered my face.
Really, Kian?
“Ayiiieh!” Everyone screamed.
“It’s enviable!”
“You really want me to read this? You’re not too young to send me your love letter,” Alden said to Kian who made us all laugh.
Alden handed me the letter before he went to his former seat. Kian stood up and walked over to me.
“When we were young. I always imagine my future with you. And it did come true when blackmailing you lead us into an unexpected marriage.”
We laughed. We looked at each other. Both had smiles on our lips.
“I love you so much, Bethany Cristobal Montelibano.”
He slowly knelt down and pulled out of his pocket a ring with a large diamond on it.
“Marry me again, Moo. This time in the presence of the Lord and witnesses who know and love us.”
He took my hand. Kissed it before looking up at me. I don’t know why I’m crying because after all, we’re married. I nodded and laughed.
“Marry me,” he said again while staring at me.
“Yes. I will marry you.”
The size of the smile on his lips was beyond measurement. He immediately put the ring on my finger. He stood up then and immediately kissed me before hugging me tightly.
“I love you so much, Moo,” Kian whispered in the middle of our hug.
“I love you so much, too,” I replied and kissed him again.
