Chapter 85
It’s “D Day,” and Emerald stood before the large mirror, staring intently at her reflection. She couldn’t believe that today was the day of her wedding to the man she loved the most. At first, it was only a dream, but now, in just a few moments, she would be walking down the aisle to meet the only man who had ever captured her heart.
They were already married, but for Emerald, this day was different. She thought that if they had a wedding ceremony before, it might not have been as special as today, with her real parents and loved ones present and Jace’s parents and families.
“Mom,” Emerald said as she saw her mother, Ember, get in and stand behind her, smiling.
“The stylist is here to get you ready. Are you prepared?” her mother asked with a smile, which Emerald returned with a sweet smile and several nods. “You don’t seem excited at all, do you?” Ember teased.
“I can’t help but be excited, Mommy.” Emerald’s eyes were shining brightly like stars in the sky at night.
“That’s exactly how you should feel, my child,” Ember replied, understanding the unexplainable happiness many had told her. Even though she and Mr. Landers loved each other very much, they had never had a wedding ceremony.
Emerald wanted to have a double wedding, but her father didn’t agree. He said he wanted her mother to experience what they called ‘the wedding of the century,’ which made the whole family laugh. But in truth, Emerald’s parents just wanted her to enjoy and cherish her special day.
Soon, Emerald’s stylist entered the room, along with Elise, who seemed even more excited than the bride. Elise loved these events and was full of energy when it came to organizing and preparing for such occasions. However, Jace hired a wedding planner and organizer. He didn’t want to keep Emerald’s friends busy during the occasion because, for him, they were all part of his wife’s life.
“Make her the most beautiful bride you ever did, okay?” Elise said to the stylist, making Ember and Emerald laugh. “Why? Even if Jace said he would marry you in every church, that doesn’t mean we should take this first time lightly. Every wedding of yours should be more beautiful than the last.”
“You really believe that?” Emerald asked, laughing. “Where have you ever seen a couple get married repeatedly?”
“My dear, with your husband’s wealth, it wouldn’t be surprising if he did just that,” Ember said, agreeing with Elise. Her mother sees how much Jace loves and favors her daughter.
“See? Even your mom agrees with me.” They all laughed, including the stylist, at Elise’s comment. Then, the stylist began preparing Emerald, Elise, her mother, and some bridesmaids after the two women left the room to give the bride and stylist time and space.
They were in a large, well-known hotel in L. A. that Jace had reserved for their wedding. Everyone was invited, even those in the lowest positions at both young Higginson’s and Emerald’s companies, and friends of Mr. Ferguson and Mr. Landers, who had traveled from Italy, were there.
“Let me see my daughter,” said Mr. Landers as he entered the room with Ember. Emerald smiled at them as they approached. “My daughter is so beautiful; she looks just like me.”
The mother and daughter couldn’t help but laugh at the head of the family’s comment. “Oh, Harry, how long will you brag about how much you and our daughter look alike?” Ember said happily.
The couple approached their daughter, looking her over intently. They couldn’t believe that the day had come when they would see their daughter get married or that their family would be whole again.
“I’m so happy, my child, that this moment has come.” Ember was close to tears as she looked at her husband and daughter. Emerald stood up to hug the two people who were why she was in this world.
“Mom, thank you for all your efforts to be with me, even when you didn’t know what to do. I felt your love so deeply that I never once felt like I didn’t have a mother. I want you to know that even when I thought of you as just a nanny, you perfectly fulfilled the role of a mother to me.”
Emerald’s words filled Ember with overwhelming joy. She never imagined that her daughter had loved her so much all along. The family embraced, and the stylist retouched Emerald’s makeup because of her tears.
“Come on, or your husband might start throwing a fit from waiting for you too long,” Mr. Landers said. The mother and daughter nodded, and hand in hand, they left the room, heading to the hotel pavilion where the formal wedding ceremony and reception would occur.
The family stood at the entrance to the closed pavilion doors, with Emerald between her parents. The legendary wedding march began to play, and the large, tall doors opened.
As Shane Filan’s “Beautiful In White” played, the wedding coordinator who organized the event started guiding Emerald down the aisle.
As she walked, Emerald looked like a vision of elegance and grace. Her wedding dress is a breathtaking creation, a perfect blend of classic and modern design made by an international wedding gown designer. It is made of delicate lace, with intricate floral patterns that trail down the bodice and flow into the soft, ethereal tulle of the skirt. The dress hugs Emerald’s figure beautifully, accentuating her silhouette before cascading into a long, flowing train that trails behind her with every step.
The veil is sheer and light, draped over Emerald’s shoulders, with a subtle shimmer that catches the light as she moves. Her hair is styled in loose waves, with a few soft curls framing her face, and a delicate tiara rests atop her head, adding a touch of regal elegance to her look.
Emerald’s eyes are bright with emotion, a mix of joy, anticipation, and love as she takes each step closer to her groom. Her smile is radiant, a reflection of the happiness she feels in this moment. The aisle is adorned with soft petals and the beautiful voice of the singer, creating a magical atmosphere.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
At the end of the aisle, Jace waits for her, his eyes locked on hers, filled with love and admiration. As Emerald approaches, the world seems to fade away, leaving just the two of them in this perfect moment.
Jace couldn’t believe he was again with his wife he had wronged. So he made a vow to himself that he would never hurt her again. He would dedicate his entire life to making Emerald happy until his last breath.
When Emerald finally reached him, Jace, with tears in his eyes, extended his hand, which his wife took after shaking hands with Emerald’s parents. The couple then faced the officiating priest, and the ceremony began.
“You may now kiss the bride.” The newlyweds faced each other, eager to kiss. They were met with loud applause from friends, relatives, family members, and employees who witnessed the event.
Jace and Emerald faced the guests, and the reception began. Everyone celebrated and had a great time.
