“You want to tell me what happened at the office?” Yegor asked as they were having their breakfast in the dining room overlooking the pool.

He hadn’t touched the matter knowing she was upset about it, but he was hopeful that when morning came she would be willing to talk to him.

She was already dressed for work and he couldn’t stop looking, admiring her beautiful posture in her simple working suit ensemble.

“Same bad stuff as always,” she backed away from her meal as if his question make her lose her appetite.

“Okay.”

He didn’t push forward, but he listens when she started her words.

“My stupid boss enrolled me in a cross-training agency program.”

“So?”

Yegor smiled at her, thinking that she was considering him to be that someone that she would leave behind. He was feeling warm on the inside, but then groaned when she continues her words.

“I can’t leave my Gus alone here, what if he misses me? what if in those six months you’re busted, or dead? who’s going to take care of my furry ball of cuteness?”

His face can not hide his annoyance, and she took his hand and rubbed his knuckles, and told him the details about her training program.

“You will be transferred for an abroad training for six months?”

“Yeah! out of the country! do you realize the paperwork hassle of sending a cat overseas?”

“He can go on my jet my people will take care of his paperwork, but seriously aren’t you even going to miss me?”

She knows he would easily go to her whenever he wanted to, it was her that was worried that she would miss him. Just like the one year, he was on the run, the one year she was miserable without him and make the biggest mistake of her life.

She laughed softly and sits on his lap, she was toying with him, teasing him with her only missing GusGus.

“My bad tattooed mafia boss and his insecurities, you’re too darn cute for your own good.”

She kissed him chastely and let her hands circle his shoulder, he kissed her back and wrapped his arms to her body as they lazily have their sweet morning kisses.

“Thank you for your offer to send Gus on your private jet, that cat is seriously being spoiled rotten. I might take you up on that offer.”

“So, you will be leaving?”

“Not if I can help it, I want to get that Albanian boss. I kept on being pushed every time I was getting close to catching you guys. You know someday I will get tired of this game and just retire early. But until that day came, I’m going to go with the flow. That means if I have to get transferred to stay at the Agency then that means I need to do as I’m instructed.”

“I wish you would do as I instructed.” His hand trail to her neck and he possessively holds her and their kisses were deeper and more passionate, up until someone clears her throat signaling that they have company.

“Margot, I’m sorry… but this man needs constant attention. Your toast is superb as always.”

Karla stands up from his lap and back to her chair while she tugged her lips showing her playful smile to Yegor. It was one of those mornings and Margot has been an addition to their little family along with GusGus who was circling the older woman’s feet waiting for his morning feed.

“That boy never shows his loyalty to anyone, he would latch himself to people who will give him food.”

Karla mumbled as she drinks her coffee while scrolling through her phone.

“He’s actually showing good adaptability, he knows what it takes to get his next meal. To sustain himself…”

She rolled her eyes and takes another sip of her coffee, while Margo smiles and shook her head looking at the young couple in front of her.

“You talk like he’s one of your men. Anyway, talking about your adorable minion… who’s taking me today? I need to go now.”

“Darko will take you, he will go on an errand after dropping you off.”

“Yeah? what errand?” she looked at him squinting her eyes being her usual nosy agent self.

“Karla…” he reminded her about the issues that should remain untouched between them.

“See this… you expect me to tell you about my work but then when I try to make conversation about your work, you cut me off. This is not how couples do things.”

“So, we’re a couple now?” he actually grins at her making the beautiful agent laugh too loud for their quiet morning meal.

Margot had excused herself to do her morning errand and they were left in the privacy of his spacious dining area.

“I’m going to let you decide when I’m privileged to know your side of the business, then we can be those couples who share everything.”

She finishes her coffee and gets her leather satchel and said goodbye to GusGus then kissed her mob boss’s delectable lips.

Never would she imagined that she would go to work from a mob boss mansion. But that was exactly was she was doing and she couldn’t care less. She knows deep down she was feeling things for him, but she decided time and time again to put the feeling aside realizing that their relationship is a ticking time bomb.

“I love you, baby. Play nice with the other boys.”

She laughed and exits the dining area, leaving her two boys finishing off on their breakfast.

But her cheerfulness died when she arrived at her office, she was greeted by a memo stick to her door, instructing her to see her superior.

Karla groaned and put her bag on her chair and get the small notebook that she always carries to scribble stuff while she should have taken notes on his words.

“Agent Federova, how are you today?”

Again, with the freaking small talk.

She thought to herself while telling him that she’s good. A short, choppy reply but that was all she could think of.

He laughed and shook his head, but continue to tell her to take a seat and gave her some forms.

“These are the forms, you’re one of our best agents. I’m sure you know about this already. Your current work will be passed on to another agent, but you don’t have to worry about that. I am aware of your progress and will put him up to speed with your files. You are scheduled for next month. I’m sure that’s enough time for you to set everything in motion. It will only be for six months, I will email your details to your handler there.”

“Yes, sir.”

“And your accommodation has been taken care of, but you are free to seek another place and reimburse the cost as per our budget. It’s all there on the forms, take it back to your office. Read it and fill it out.”

“Yes, sir. Thank you, sir.”

That was all she said, she knows she had to play by the rules. If she was to be transferred then she has to do it. There’s no choice, but at least she would have Luka there.

She smiled at the thought of seeing her childhood friend.
