The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate

Chapter 23

"What?" The whole crowd exclaimed as Savannah refused to obey the Alpha's order and heal Clara.

"Why? Why don't you want to save her?" Killian asked her, while Savannah let out a

bitter laugh.

"Because I don't want to." She replied and sat comfortably on her seat, gently sipping the wine placed in front of her.

"What do you mean by you don't want to? She is your Luna!" Killian screamed at her and she received no response from Savannah.

"Okay...okay. I, Killian, Alpha of the blue moon pack, hereby order you to cure my Luna." Killian ordered, and everyone flung their gazes at Savannah, thinking she had no choice but to cure Sara. To their utmost surprise, she rejected the Alpha's order.

"How dare you disobey the alpha?" One of the elders asked. He was so angered by Savannah's rude behavior towards the alpha.

Meanwhile, both Clara and Lydia enjoyed the show from the side of the hall.

"It's about to go down." Lydia chuckled while Clara smiled.

"Because I have the power to reject it." Savannah yelled back at the elder. She stood up from the chair and pulled a plaque off her skirt.noveldrama

"You remember this, right? I will use it now." Savannah continued and Killian's eyes widened in shock.

The plaque Savannah held was bestowed unto her family by the previous Alpha due to her late father's meritorious deeds.

As a general that her late father was, the plaque could be used to turn down the Alpha's orders in critical moments, especially during a war, whereby the Alpha's orders couldn't be followed due to some solid reasons. But Savannah chose to use it at this moment.

"But you know that only your Ocean moon liquid could save her." The moon priestess said, and Savannah smiled further.

"More of a reason why I don't want to save her. I can't waste my precious medicine on someone I don't like. It took me about ten years to make just five drops of it." She answered with an air of pride.

While her father was a valiant general, her mother was from a family that excelled in medicine. Savannah had gotten most of her medical knowledge from her mother and is currently the best physician in the whole pack.

The ocean moon liquid was a potent medicine passed down by their forefathers and had a rumor of being able to revive the dead within twenty-four hours of the person's death.

Sara made a loud groan and Killian rushed to her side. He lifted her head and wrapped his hand around her. She had gone pale and one could tell that there was a minimal quantity of blood left in her. She was only hanging on by the Luna's power in her.

"I am here, don't be afraid," Killian muttered while he patted her head gently.

"I...am in pain. Am...I...going...to...die?" Sara muttered weakly, and Killian hurriedly shook his head.

"No, you won't. I will save you, I will do everything possible to save you." Killian answered. He was a bit happy that Sara could still talk. Her voice seemed to warm his heart a bit.

While everyone persuaded Savannah to retract her decision and heal Sara. The moon priestess inspected the food served to Sara.

"This is her food, right?" She asked while Killian turned his head in her direction. "Yes, it is." He replied.

"But..." he swallowed hard.

"She had not touched the food; it's the wine; she only drank the wine." he continued, and the moon priestess nodded her head.

She took out a silver needle and dipped it inside the wine. She removed the needle, and the tip had turned black. Everyone's face widened in shock.

"Who could be so audacious to poison the Luna's wine? Right in my ceremony?" The moon priestess roared, and everyone shook in fear.

"Where's the maid that served the food?" The moon priestess asked, and the maid rushed to her.

"I...am here, great one." The maid fretted as she knelt before the moon priestess. "How dare you poison the Luna of our pack?" The moon priestess flung her agonized look at her, and the maid shrunk under her gaze.

"I am innocent; I know nothing about it; please spare me." The maid pleaded while tears streamed down her cheeks. She knew that she could be sentenced to death if she was convicted of the crime, especially when she wasn't a criminal.

The moon priestess rolled her eyes all over her, and she caught hold of something in the maid's blouse.

She gently picked up the item, which turned out to be a pill, and showed it to everyone to see.

The maid was dumbfounded; she felt as if she was going crazy; she wondered how the pill had gotten into her blouse. Only then did she realize that she had been framed.

Clara and Lydia smiled greatly as their plan had worked out. They had found a scapegoat for themselves, and they could now be at ease.

"How, then, do you explain this?" The moon priestess screamed and then dropped the pill into a liquid before inserting another silver needle into it. The tip of the needle turned black and everyone gasped.

"I am innocent; I was framed; I know nothing about it." The maid screamed, but no one listened to her pleas.

"Guards, drag her out!" One of the elders commanded, and the maid was carried out, crying hard as she pleaded for her innocence.

Killian sighed. The moon priestess turned to Savannah and sat beside her.

"What do you want before you can heal the Luna?" The moon priestess wisely asked, and Savannah smiled to herself.

"Now it's the time." She muttered silently and sprang up from her seat.

"Alpha, I can cure her, but you have to do something in return." She said, and Killian instantly agreed.

"Tell me, I will do anything," Killian said in a hurry while Savannah smiled again.

"You are our Alpha, and I don't want to make it hard on you. That's why I will give you two choices." Savannah said while everyone gasped. It shocked them at how audacious Savannah could be to give the alpha choices.

"What are they?" Killian asked her.

"Break your mate bond with Sara, and marry Lydia as your mate, or stab deep into your own heart, and of course, your wolf's heart won't be excluded."
