Chapter 236 Old Habits Die Hard
Something that you experience as a two-hundred-eighty-year-old Vampire on a rather regular basis. However, I do say that more often since I have had Anastasia in my life. To take the countless number of scorned lovers that have surfaced as an example.
Further taken into account is the endless trouble that Anastasia has also gotten herself into repeatedly over the just more than a year that we have been together. So, needless to say, that nothing amazes me anymore when it does come to my beloved.
Now right next to me, I have a man that has a rather big smile upon his face, and I do so wish to slap it right off for him. Yet, I need to stand in my own moment and take the situation in. I do wish that it could bring the same smile to my face that Jacobh is currently experiencing, but in fact, I am near goddamn terrified.
The question does be now.
Do I even approach the scene that is unfolding in front of me? I can clearly remember the last time that I had to come face to face with this Anastasia. Dare I even say that one of us nearly did not make it that time. But in my own defense, I have not done anything to deserve being slapped around.
So as I look over at our dear Vampire Hunter, I can only speak with a trembling voice which I do not particularly care to hide at this time, “Please tell me that you have a solid plan on how to approach this situation?”
“Well,” he only smirks as he chuckles rather annoyingly, “Let us hope that you have not pissed her off lately.”
“At least we are in luck there,” yet the moment that those words leave my mouth, I do recall one little detail of what I possibly could have done wrong to her in the past few days. So swallowing rather uncomfortably as Jacobh only raises his eyebrow at me, I am yet to make my confession, “Perhaps I did to a slight hint of wrong to her.”
He only but bursts out in a fit of uncontrollable laughter, nearly landing his ass into a puddle of mud, then, “Well, I guess that you should not approach her then.”
“Then, my dear friend, you are going to have to be the one that tells her to calm down.”
“Now, Sebastian, you are aware of what has happened to her, then I am more than likely…”
“Please spare me the reminder,” with a hand waving him off, I watch as Connor, and the rest of the group come running up from behind. He has not even reached me, and I am already waving him off in the same breath, “Please, I do not wish to hear anything such as I told you so.”
With that, Connor looks over my shoulder in the same direction that I am pointing in, “Ya, I told you so.”
Not even hesitating for a moment, the back of my hand reaches the rather thick skull of his with such an impact that his head snaps to the front. “So, who is going to go to her.”
“Well, have you pissed her off?”
I only but grunt on my teeth as I stare Connor down, “Perhaps, maybe.”
Conner, who has not taken his eyes off Anastasia for one minute, taking in quite the spectacular show, finally turns to me with a smile that he is finding very hard to hide, “Now, which one is it? Perhaps or maybe?”
Not wanting to get the attention of the rest of the group, slowly turning my body to the side, I call for Connor’s attention again, “I sort of moved that little experiment of hers beyond her knowledge.”
“Ah, so you pissed the mother off by taking her child away.” Not nearly able to keep in his laughter anymore, he only but smacks a head that nearly spins into the other direction, then with another big rumble from his chest, “She is going to kill you. This time, please don’t push the woman into a pole.”
And with that, it is decided.
I shall be the one that will approach Anastasia.
Now at the present moment, she is making good progress at ripping the Bloodluster apart. And the very mention of the thought, she could have made this battle so much easier than it has played out. But I am not the one who will point out very obvious situations at her this present moment. My only concern is to get her to transform into her normal Anastasia self.
Yes, Connor was indeed correct.
My beloved has never outlived the curse of an Ancient.
Which means very much, and do I even need to remind myself that her destined mate, the Vampire Hunter, shall find that his true calling will be revealed one day as well.
But regardless, do I feel that this is my prophecy?
Having a wife that is an Ancient, a child that was born in a tube who possibly could be half human and half Vampire, and then there is me? What am I turning into?
Though that shall be a thought that will riddle my mind later as I am now approached those final steps that shall take me to Anastasia that is securely ripping the throat of this poor animal apart.
So taking one step forward after the other, I slowly find the right words to say, for from what I have learned, you do not tell a woman to calm down.
And yet I am, though, not knowing what else to say, “Anastasia, my beloved, I think the… Well, I think that Bloodluster is dead.”
In an instant, she snaps her head towards me with those razor-sharp row of fangs that I can, at this present moment, feel slicing into the delicate skin of my wrist. The very thought of that day comes rolling over me like a cold wind that freezes down my spine.
So with a quick glance around me, I am satisfied that should there be a battle that I will not be shoving her into a pole and let us hope that she does not shove me into any other object either.
But, the mention of objects finds Anastasia crawling up to where I find myself rather trembling in my shoes. With sounds coming from her beautiful lips that drowns out the rain in complete horror, she hisses and snaps her teeth with the firm confirmation that currently, she has no idea who I am. Or perhaps, maybe, she does fully know and intend on teaching me a lesson for my betrayal.
As she finally makes her way up close to only but one step away from me, I can see that she has fully turned and that no matter what, I try and attempt to speak to her will be utterly futile. So with her full majestic glory, claws extended by her side, teeth unmistakably sharp and exposed, I stand unmoving in front of her and stare her into her beautiful sparkling eyes. Yet the beast has taken over; my beloved still very much lives in them.
And…
BANG
She has got me gripped by the throat and slowly lifting my feet inch by inch from the ground. With the flick of her fingers, she is slowly snapping her hand tighter around my neck and starting to squeeze the very essence from me.
Yes…
Déjà vu…
I have found myself in this position before.
Though there is something different this time…
In an instant, I flip my fingers one by one as my claw is brought to life; with one flick of the wrist, I gently start pulling her fingers one by one away until her hand is falling back to her side. I immediately drop to the floor, remaining very firm on the ground.
Then…
In as little as the breath of one… two…
She steps one leap forward and smashes both her hands into my chest, sending me right back into a rather filthy dustbin that my observation had missed.
Well, the chances of a dustbin killing us are nill.
So shuffling my feet together in a giant slide toward her, I grab hold of her chest and find the soft centers of her eyes.
“My beloved, please, I do not wish to hurt you.”
Yet, she crunches her claws into my shirt, and in one rather swift movement, she has it ripped from my body in complete shreds. Slowly she starts dragging only but one nail down the ripples of my abs that are being drenched in the rain. Mixing blood and water as it runs down to a puddle at my feet.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
With great difficulty, I try to rip the hold from my body away, but not being able to be gently in both our current states of being completely battle-ready, I, without truly trying to, but my nail draws a long gash across her arm.
She lets out an incredible raw as the pain echoes through her body, and as my gaze meets hers once more, I know that it was the only catalyst that she needed.
Anastasia is very much present, and she is about to make me pay
