Kane turned and walked toward the closet, his broad back facing her. He opened the door and began rummaging through his clothes. "Let me take a shower first,” he said, his voice casual. "Then I'll join everyone downstairs."

Selene's gaze lingered on him, taking in the sight of his strong, muscular frame. He looked as powerful as ever, but she noticed a slight change-he'd lost weight. The realization made her heart ache.
