Chapter 24
Charlie saw Macy's hand tremble, and her eyes blinked repeatedly. Her lips quivered as she asked, “I did not know you had a girlfriend, Taylor."
Taylor reached out to Charlie and pulled her closer to him. He said, "Yeah, Charlie's My Girl."noveldrama
At that point, Taylor had already put on a shirt. Charlie was relieved because Macy was clearly on a mission here, judging by what she was wearing. She looked really sexy, wearing a halter top, and her boobs looked like they were ready to spill.
"Oh, well, have some snacks," Macy suggested, her expression sour.
Carl ate first. While enjoying his snack, Macy suddenly picked up a cookie and said, "Hey, Taylor, try this cookie. It's really yummy."
Taylor was still drinking his water. He stopped and said, "It's okay. I can pick up the cookie myself."
'Girl, if you can't take a hint, I'll slap you!' someone or something-said in Charlie's head. A second personality, maybe?
Of course, Charlie would never admit to thinking this herself! When she saw the frown on Macy's face, Charlie rejoiced inside. "Sex, huh? You were just making up stories about Taylor!'
Charlie then cleared her throat. She picked up a cookie and turned to Taylor, saying, “But what about me, Babe? Can I pick up a cookie and feed you?"
Taylor raised a brow, clearly taken aback, but very quickly, he smirked and answered, "Of course, Babe."
At first, Charlie fed Taylor carefully, but soon, she started cramming more cookies into his mouth than he could handle. Struggling to chew, he gave her a look and mumbled, "Babe?"
With his mouth completely full, he leaned closer to Charlie. His words were barely recognizable, but Charlie understood what he said. "Babe, let's share the cookies."
"Share the cookies in your mouth?" She ended up pushing Taylor's face away, and Carl laughed at them. Only Macy remained unamused.
Taylor and Charlie lingered a bit at Carl's house but left right after finishing their cookie snack. Charlie assumed they were heading home, but Taylor had other plans. "That was just a warm-up. I'm starving," he announced. "There's a great shrimp food truck at the park. Let's go! I got paid today. It's my treat."
"Okay." Charlie agreed. "Do we walk?"
"No, I have a ride," Taylor said, pointing to a BMW parked across the street.
Minutes later, they were at the park, eating shrimp at a food truck. Charlie was over the moon, moaning in her every bite.
"Mmm. So good! I love seafood!" Charlie exclaimed. "I haven't eaten this carelessly in years!"
Taylor chuckled while peeling his shrimp. He said, "I can see that."
"I can eat shrimp all day," both Taylor and Charlie said at the same time. Then,
they stared at each other and began laughing.
"You know, Taylor, I noticed that while Carl seems really smart. There is
something different about him," Charlie commented. "I don't mean anything bad. I just noticed."
Taylor smiled, pausing before saying, "It's fine. Awareness is always the first step in these
vel
matters, Carl has autism. He's socially awkward but highly functional. Despite looking younger, he's already twelve. He loves basketball, but being underweight and uncoordinated makes it challenging for him. That's where I come in-I help him improve physically."
He continued, agreed to train him. mainly because he's special. I have a soft spot for those on the spectrum since my younger brother also has mild autism. My brother is in his second year of college, studying computer engineering. His name is Tristan."
"Really?" Charlie asked in surprise. "He must be really techy."
"Very. Tristan talks about excessive details about gadgets and computers," Taylor admitted. "The only problem is that when he starts talking, he doesn't stop and would literally bother you with an info dump."
"Those on the spectrum lack social cues. They don't realize that you are getting bored with their talk, or annoyed, etc. Because of this, people like Carl and Tristan get bullied a lot and.... I fucking hate it," Taylor remarked.
Charlie felt teary-eyed. She was really touched by what Taylor had said.
"Why are you fucking crying?" Taylor asked, laughing.
Charlie laughed too. She wiped her tears and replied, "I don't know. I was touched by how you described your brother. I can feel that you really care about him." She smiled brightly and suggested, "Anyway, I'd
like to meet Tristan."
BUT
Taylor turned to Charlie. He smiled again and said, "Actually, you might have already met him."
Hearing that, Charlie's eyes widened. She asked, "What? When? Where?"
What do you think?
