Chapter 420
Chapter 420
Sadie was sizing herself up in the mirror. She’d shed a ton of weight for this role, but it still wasn’t
enough to squeeze into the smallest size of the dress.
Taking a deep breath and holding it in, she was interrupted by her agent’s voice, which made her frown.
She looked at Emma and said, “Let him wait, I’ll be there in a jiffy.”
Emma seemed a bit on edge, “Sadie, it’s been two hours already. It’s getting dark. If we don’t hurry up,
it’ll be really inappropriate. Mr. Simonds and the rest of the cast are waiting for us.”
Sadie gave her agent a glance, “Just let them wait. He’s just an assistant director. What’s a few
minutes to him?”
Emma sighed, watching Sadie trying on clothes. She couldn’t comprehend Sadie’s attitude. Even
though she was Sadie’s agent, she was only an executive agent, just a notch above an assistant.
The head agent was Sidney from the company. Even though Sidney was no Patty, she had her ways of
getting resources,
This production was funded by Epic Entertainment and handed over to Patty, who then passed it to
Sidney. Because Sadie was easy–going and fit the audition image, she got the role.
The filming was already halfway done. Emma was powerless, and all she could do was handle the calls
from the assistant director.
Sadie was not caring about being late at all; Emma sighed again and asked carefully, “Sadie, if you like
this dress, let’s buy it and get to the set pronto.”
Sadie looked annoyed, “Emma, you’re just an executive agent. Since when do you get to boss me
around?”
Emma replied, “Sadie, we can’t keep stalling. Mr. Simonds has been with Cathy for years. He has
connections and he’s tough. He hates tardy actors the most. Last time an actress was late for shooting,
and he lambasted her on the spot. It was all over the news and her reputation took a hit.”
Sadie retorted, “I’m the lead actress for this show, how can you compare me with some internet
celebrity? Emma, if you don’t want this job, just say it. Don’t beat around the bush. There’s a long line
of people waiting to be my executive agent. I won’t change because of
you.”
Emma was taken aback. She was just looking out for Sadie, but Sadie didn’t appreciate it. Fine, she’d
keep her mouth shut. Let Sadie do whatever she wanted. If any news about her being negligent got
out, it would affect Sadie herself. But she was just an executive agent. She couldn’t control these
things. The one whose reputation would be ruined was Sadie herself.
On the set.
Mr. Sears came over, “Just letting you all know, we’re wrapping up for the night, no more shooting.”
Mr. Simonds yawned, “I thought we were waiting for Sadie?”
Mr. Sears whispered, “Mr. Lindberg is here.”
Mr. Simonds just woke up and was a bit confused, “Who?”
Mr. Sears gestured and Mr. Simonds perked up, “Lucian?”
Mr. Sears nodded.
Mr. Simonds’s expression changed, looking puzzled, “Why would he show up? The CEO of Lindberg
Corporation has time to spare? Don’t tell me he’s here to supervise the work.”
Mr. Sears found it strange too but didn’t dare to ask more, “I don’t know. I was startled too. Anyway,
let’s call it a day.”
Mr. Simonds looked around and didn’t see anyone. He began to suspect that Mr. Sears was lying to get
off work early. After all, why would someone like Lucian show up at a film set?
“Mr. Sears, you’re not pulling my leg, are you?”
Mr. Sears, Of course not. I was shocked too when I got the call.”
Mr. Simonds gave Mr. Sears a look, “Alright, even if you’re telling the truth, let’s put this aside for now. I
just want to tell you one thing. If Sadie is late again, I’ll just cut her scenes.”
Mr. Sears knew Mr. Simonds’s character, “Okay, I’ll handle Sadie’s side.” This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
Allison stepped out of Mia’s trailer, and her phone suddenly buzzed. She looked down. Lucian had sent
a message.
