The Billionaire’s Maid Bride (Flanagan and Allison)

Chapter 457

Chapter 457

Even though Allison wasn’t sure what Penelope was up to, she wasn’t scared now that she was here.

When she pushed open the door to the ward, there was Penelope. She was sitting on the bed, and her

makeup looked perfect as if she was trying to show off her determination.

Grace was worried that Allison and Penelope might butt heads, so she stepped in between them and

said, “Penelope, these are flowers Allie brought for you. Get well soon, okay?”

Upon seeing the carnations, Penelope’s face seemed to change. Weren’t these flowers normally given

on special occasions? And the wrapping looked old and tacky. But Penelope didn’t seem pissed off,

“Ms. Grace, have a seat. I’ve asked the butler to prepare some fruit salad.”

Penelope had never been this polite and warm to Grace before. Today was different.

Allison was taken aback. What was Penelope playing at?

“Allison, I know I was a jerk to you before. I was young and reckless, and I treated you badly. I hope

you’re not mad and can forget all the unpleasant stuff.” Penelope said.

Allison was stunned. She looked at Penelope, not understanding why she was suddenly apologizing. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

Grace, seeing Penelope taking the initiative to apologize, was naturally delighted. She had always felt

guilty for favoring Penelope over Allison. It was a mistake which happened in her youth that had

caused a lot of trouble and now seemed impossible to fix. Her health had been deteriorating, and her

greatest wish was to see Penelope and Allison reconcile.

She knew Allison was kind and forgiving, while Penelope was spoiled and had always bullied Allison.

But now that Penelope was apologizing, she turned to Allison and said, “Allie, let bygones be bygones.

You and Penelope have grown up together, and you look so much alike. It’s fate. You should be like

sisters and forget all the unpleasant past

Allison looked at her mother. If this were before, she would’ve scoffed and left, not giving a damn about

Penelope. But now, seeing the hope and excitement in Grace’s eyes, she couldn’t say no.

Allison knew Grace always hoped for things between her and Penelope to improve. She didn’t want

Grace to worry, so she nodded and said, “Mom, you don’t need to worry about us.”

Asking her to forget the past was impossible. Everything Penelope had done to her, she would

remember for the rest of her life.

“If you say so, then I’ll take it as a yes.” Grace smiled, holding Allison’s hand with one hand and

Penelope’s with the other, stacking their hands together tightly.

Allison’s other hand clenched into a fist behind her back, then relaxed. She had worn a bracelet today.

Not many people might know its worth, but Penelope, who was always in high-class circles and knew

luxury like the back of her hand, definitely would.

Penelope’s eyes fell on the fair wrist, and she was hooked. The bracelet, made of yellow sapphires and

diamonds, was very valuable. Its designer was a famous British jeweler, and it was named “Sunset

Feather”. Three months ago, this bracelet appeared in an underground auction in Northfield. Penelope

wanted it, and asked Lucian to bid for it. However, it disappeared later. And now, it was on Allison’s

wrist.

Her expression changed instantly.

Allison, ever the sharp one, caught the change in Penelope’s face. Penelope unclasped a jade

necklace from her neck and handed it over, saying, “Allison, this is a necklace I’ve been wearing. It’s

very precious to me. Twant to give it to you as a symbol of our friendship. Can we exchange gifts?

Would you give me your bracelet?”

Allison chuckled. So that was it. She wanted her bracelet?

This bracelet was a gift from Lucian. Though Allison didn’t know the exact price, she knew its worth.

Even if Penelope had a hundred necklaces, they wouldn’t be worth a single chip on her bracelet.
