The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel)

MISTAKE 22

Chapter 22: Announcing their divorce.

Ryan sent his brother a dirty look for spying, but Daniel just as Ryan were both interested in this conversation. They noticed as the conversation paused and a silence washed by. They watched Anya stare at the phone expectantly till Lena answered from ” ther end.

“I will send you an account to send it to,” Lena answered and a cold so slowly spread across. Anya’s face as she walked over and ended the call

When Daniel saw that smile from the monitor, a frown filled his face.

Not long after, Lena’s message came in. Anya smiled as she forwarded the message to Mary. Mary immediately called Anya.

“Anya, what is with all the messages?” Mary asked the moment she answered the call, “An account number?” Mary asked.

“I don’t know, I am in a hurry. I have forwarded the account Lena sent over. I wanted to send this to my account manager, but he had refused to transfer the money last time I asked. He said I should ask Lena first. Please, check it for me. Make sure he transfers it,” Anya pleaded.

“I thought that was your account? Why do you need Lena’s permission?” Mary asked.

“You think it is odd, right? I am definitely making a report after this,” Anya answered.

“Alright, I will look into it for you,” Mary assured and before Anya could end the call, Daniel entered the room.

“What is going on?” Daniel could no longer help himself and emerged from the inner room to ask her. She spun around sharply, making sure to spill the files on the floor.

When it came to a crime, or at least the judging of a crime, one needed a guilty party as much. as they needed an innocent one. Anya did not think she was the brightest tool in the shed, but there was one thing she knew for sure; The Shaw family were dangerous people.

When they dealt with people, they were swift and direct. Her husband, Daniel Shaw was infamous for his ruthless means. There was even a saying, It was easier for one to enter the hands of Daniel Shaw, than it was for one to leave. Daniel was dangerous. No matter what happened, whoever the guilty party ended up being, Anya was determined to be the innocent.

one.

“What is all this talk about money?” Daniel asked and she immediately started picking up the

documents.

“Do you need anything?” Anya asked him, avoiding the question. She had always known he was in that room. She had wanted him to hear and watch their conversation. Daniel was not

stupid, he would easily be suspicious if she let out some information.

Anya knew that she would have to explain herself sometime soon. And she preferred if this

explanation was before the party, or else she would be at a disadvantage when they

came

Daniel bent down to help her pick the documents and as he picked, he noticed his name on the file. A quick glance and he could tell it seemed to be his account.

“What is this?” he asked and she hurriedly tried to grab the papers fr his grasp, but he was quicker.

“Anya!” he scolded, “Explain this! Why is my name here?”

“Hand it over!” she screamed and he swayed out of the way when she jumped and she fell into the edge of a table, hurting her side. Anya yelped in pain, but he was too angry to notice. He walked over to grab the papers in her hand. Seeing him come over, she ignored her pain and tilted away, only causing more pain to shoot down her side.

“Daniel calm down! Can’t you see she is hurt?” Ryan walked over to help Anya up. Anya took that moment to end the call with Mary. She had not ended the call on purpose.

As far as she was concerned, she had placed enough suspicion on Lena. Her acting was done. But she was in too much pain. Her eyes watered slightly from the immense pain. When Daniel saw her tear up, his anger disappeared and made him step towards her when she exploded.

“Fine! I opened an account through Lena’s recommendation and they made it a joint account, okay?” Anya shouted. She grabbed the document from Daniel’s and started picking up the rest, ignoring her pain.

“Why would we suddenly have a joint account? Where was my information and I’d gotten to

it?” Daniel was slightly bothered by her answer.

open

“How about you ask Lena. No. You are a big and powerful CEO with means, right? Why don’t you ask the bank how they got it. I don’t even know your shirt size, how would I know? I found out Lena has been using it, now I want to close it” she threw the document in the fire and watched them all go up in flames. Only then did she turn to the slightly confused Daniel and

snort.

“There is no need to look at me for an answer. Even if you turn the world upside–down, I would not know how they got your information,” Anya said

“Where is your father, please?” she asked Ryan who at that point was not sure if he should still stay and listen to their argument.

“He was in the second living room on the third floor last I saw him,” Ryan answered and Anya stormed out of the room.

“Where are you going?” Daniel asked, hurrying after her. He was worried about her injury.

“To dispose of trash,” she answered and kept walking.

Ryan saw that she was going to find their father and joined them. He had a feeling something

was about to happen. Maybe it was his mother’s blood in his veins at work, but he did not want to miss the drama.

Anya Ignored Daniel and walked the full length of the ship to the other end. It was a massive ship and she was already tired, but she did not stop. She barged into the living room to find Mr. and Mrs. Shaw seated there snacking.

“I had handed a gift to Mr. Shaw to keep when I got married. I reme

ena saying “you

keep it on this ship, can I have it back?” Anya asked the moment she walked in, causing the older couple to pause and look between each other.

“You want it back? You had said it was a token from your mother,” Michael Shaw, Daniel’s

father could not help but ask.

“Yes, could you have someone bring it to me?” she asked. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Why would you take back a marriage token?” Mrs. Shaw asked and Daniel’s heart skipped a

beat.

“It was a gift sent to the family from my mother in law. But that will no longer be necessary. Daniel and I are getting a divorce,” she announced and Mrs. Shaw choked on her water melon, going into a coughing fit. Daniel looked as though he had lost his soul for a second, before anger filled him.

Mr. Shaw sent Daniel a disapproving look, So did Ryan.

“Sister–in–law, Is it because of what Just happened? We will make him apologize,” Ryan said.

“What did he do?” Mr. Shaw asked with a deep frown. He knew that Daniel did not like his wife, but he had a feeling she was the one who initiated the divorce.

“He got angry trying to get something from her. She may have injured herself when she slammed into the table,” Ryan summarized.

“Are you alright?” Mrs. Shaw asked Anya.

“I am fine, thank you. But that is not it. We had agreed to divorce long before grandpa died,” Anya answered and looked towards the corridor for passing staff and called them. “Come over and help me carry some things from Mr. Shaw’s room to mine,” she instructed.
