Chapter 36
Chapter 36
Leopold’s voice was as cold as a winter breeze, sending shivers down Aurelia’s spine, almost causing
her to jump out of her chair in surprise.
“Mr. Leopold. When did you get here?”
For a man of his stature, he moved eerily silent, like a ghost!
Leopold stretched out his hand, covering her head. “You draw well.”
She was imaginative, and her creativity seemed to manifest in her dreams.
Aurelia took it as a compliment. After all, she hailed from one of the most renowned art schools in the
nation, which landed her this job.
“Mr. Leopold, why are you here so late?”
Leopold poured himself a glass of water.
He didn’t know what got into him lately.
Usually, he enjoyed solitude. He would retreat to his villa after work to relish the silence.
But these past few days, he felt increasingly bored. He took drives aimlessly, and somehow, he ended
up here.
He took a sip of water, his expression as cold as ice. “It’s my place. I can come and go as I please.”
Aurelia was dumbfounded. She was a living human being, not the air for him to breeze through. His
casual comings and goings were disrupting.
“Suit yourself.”
She turned back to her drawing, adding a small rabbit.
Leopold frowned. What kind of rabbit had a mechanical leg? Was this some strange rabbit?
“Why does the rabbit have a mechanical leg?”
“I just felt like it. Artists are free spirits. We draw whatever comes to mind,” Aurelia stuck out her tongue
playfully.
“Really?” Leopold raised an eyebrow, “And what about this couple here? They just popped into your
mind
too?”
“Um. Yes!” Aurelia nodded hastily, feeling a strange knot in her stomach as if she had been caught
red–handed.
Leopold put down his glass, stood up, and slowly walked over to her. He cupped her chin in his hand, “I
feel like I recognize the man’s silhouette.”
Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat. Her hand trembled, leaving a discordant line on the paper.
Did he have hawk–like eyes? Could he recognize it just from that?
“I was just going with the flow. The characters aren’t important. The overall theme is.”
Leopold’s lips curled into a sardonic smile. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
He had caught her uneasy reaction. He wanted to see how she would explain herself.
“I couldn’t discern any theme, all I see are some fantastical delusions.”

His tone was mocking, but Aurelia was used to his scoffs.
“Sir, I’m a designer. If I don’t fantasize, how will I come up with ideas?”
Whatever wild ideas she came up with had nothing to do with him, unless she fancied becoming an ice
sculpture.
Leopold tilted her chin up, his handsome face nearing hers. “Thinking too much can lead to ment*l
exhaustion. Know your limits.”
His breath, laden with a potent mix of masculinity, lingered around her lips. It was like an indirect kiss,
causing her to almost forget to breathe.
Feeling weak–kneed, she staggered backward, but a strong arm swiftly wrapped around her slender
waist.
“You sure know how to seize opportunities.”
His gaze drifted to the plunging neckline of her dress, the sight stirring a surge of heat in him.
He was certain it was intentional.
She had pulled this trick several times.
But damn it, he still found himself affected, as if his immunity had waned.
Aurelia blushed and quickly adjusted her dress. “I need to sleep. Pregnant women shouldn’t stay up
late.”
She flirted with him and then ran away. Was she playing hard to get?
He was annoyed, both at her cunning and his own loss of control.
“You don’t need to be so coy. I’ve seen it all before. Even if you stripped naked, I wouldn’t be interested
in your underdeveloped body.”
Devastatingly insulting!
