The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 180

Chapter 180

Cordelia totally ignored Samantha and quickly picked out two belts with Brooklyn, one black and the

other brown. Both felt pretty good, not exactly designer brands, but the quality was definitely up there.

She hoped Ronan would dig it.

The total came to 1790, and Samantha issued the receipt.

As Cordelia was about to pay and bounce, another woman sauntered in. "Well, isn't this a

coincidence," Cordelia thought. Deanna, all elegance and poise, walked up to Cordelia, carrying a bag.

After hanging around Ronan for so long, Cordelia had picked up a thing or two about brands, and she

knew the one Deanna was carrying was Patek Philippe.

"What are you buying, Ms. Haselwood?" Deanna asked, looking like she was ready for some juicy

gossip.

"A belt for Ronan."

"What brand?" Deanna glanced at the store name. "Never heard of it, you think Ronan's gonna like

something so cheap? Good luck with that."

Without acknowledging Deanna, Cordelia just walked out with Brooklyn.

"Talk about bad luck, running into those two," Cordelia grumbled.

"What if Deanna tries to stir things up in front of Mr. Evans? Don't you wanna come up with a game

plan?"

"Deal with problems as they come. I don't wanna think too much this time." Cordelia was already

feeling irked.

She thought, “What's mine, no one can snatch away, and what's not mine, no matter what, will never

be mine.”

Deanna was bound to stir the pot at Ronan's birthday. She had to find a way to keep Deanna in check.

After Cordelia left, Samantha gave Deanna a few more looks. This woman seemed to be the famous

Deanna, and seemed to have some beef with Cordelia, probably a rival. Samantha was intrigued and

was thinking about sucking up to her because being an assistant to a celebrity certainly paid more than

being a saleswoman.

"Miss, would you like to pick a belt?" Samantha tried to seize the opportunity, being extra attentive to

Deanna.

Deanna clearly wasn't impressed with the store's merchandise.

"I know someone of your status, Ms. Deanna, might not fancy our belts’ quality standard, but maybe

you could buy some for your driver or security guard, a little emotional investment." Samantha

whispered to Deanna, "The lady just now picked this brown and this black one." Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Deanna didn't really care, but hearing that, she was struck with an idea. Ronan's birthday was coming

up. No doubt Cordelia was shopping for Ronan, so why not...

"I'll take two of the same. Wrap them up for me."

"Of course, Ms. Deanna." Samantha was extremely respectful. She even kneeled down to dust off

Deanna's dress. "There's some dust on your dress, Ms. Deanna. It doesn't suit your noble status. Let

me take care of it. Here's my card."

Samantha handed Deanna the belts and her card respectfully.

"Also, Ms. Deanna, I've watched all your TV shows. Your character in 'My Dear Dr. Rowland' was

absolutely stunning and so smart, I'm a huge fan. My mom adores you too. You're so beautiful and

clever. Could you please give me an autograph?" Samantha gushed.

Flattery could get you everywhere. After signing for Samantha, Deanna left, cheerfully saying, "You've

got potential."

Samantha thought to herself, “I bet Deanna's also buying Ronan the same gifts. Wonder how

Cordelia's gonna handle this...”
