The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 184

Chapter 184

Spring had sprung and the days were getting longer. Even at five in the afternoon, the sky was still

bright.

Thanks to Ronan's arrangement, Cordelia got an extra hour of "after-school tutoring."

After work, Cordelia went to Ronan's office for tutoring as instructed. This time, Cordelia planned to

watch closely whether Ronan really read her diary. She intentionally put a strand of hair in today's diary

entry. If he read it, the hair would fall or change position, and Cordelia would find out.

After handing in her diary, Cordelia started her class. Ronan's assessment was not wrong, Emerson

was a great teacher who explained complex concepts in simple terms. However, the course on

financial cost management was a piece of cake for Cordelia. As a result, she often drifted away,

straightening up every time to see what Ronan was really up to.

Ronan was always busy with his own stuff or had a secretary come over for his signature. Cordelia's

diary was always sitting steadily on his desk. Until she straightened up for the 5th time to peep at

Ronan, Emerson followed her gaze. "He's minding his own business, nothing fishy. Why are you

always staring at him?"

Busted, Cordelia felt totally embarrassed.

Ronan cast a glance over. "If you're not focused, I'll add more hours." Cordelia could only reluctantly

shift her attention back to the textbook.

Ronan took a call, and his response was, "Grant? Where? Radiant Star Hotel? Okay." He stood up,

ready to leave.

The name Grant rang a bell for Cordelia, but she couldn’t put a finger on it. Because of his earlier

warning about "adding hours for not focusing," Cordelia was now glued to the book, not daring to look

at him.

"Aren't you going to hold me back?" he asked.

Emerson stopped the lecture.

Once confirmed Ronan was talking to her, Cordelia lifted her eyes. "Where're you going?" she asked

cautiously, curious yet afraid to ask, her eyes unusually bright.

"I have to attend a social event. I might come home late tonight."

"Oh, do come back early." Cordelia's eyelashes fluttered slightly. This was his first time going out for

social activities in a while.

"Okay, you go home first, I'll have the driver take you." Ronan was looking at his phone, ready to make

a call.

"There's still half an hour left for the class," Cordelia said.

"We'll skip it for now."

Emerson smirked, thinking, “Ronan is such a tightwad, and afraid that tutoring Cordelia alone would

lead to trouble.”

"Your husband is very responsible. You need to get used to it," Emerson said to Cordelia.

"Mind your own business!" Ronan was clearly not pleased with Emerson.

"Oh." Cordelia was packing her bag, taking another look at the diary on the desk, no change.

Just as she was about to leave, her mom called. "Della, are you free tonight? If so, come home, I made Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

soup for you, and invite Ronan too?" Shelley told Cordelia.

"Mom, he's got some social activities to attend and might come home late. I'll come alone." Cordelia

told her mom with a smile.

Cordelia was so happy simply because tonight she didn’t have to stay alone in the empty house. She

had had that experience, and it felt like falling into a bottomless abyss.

Ronan glanced at the cheerful Cordelia. "Going back to your mom's makes you so happy?"

Cordelia could only lower her head. "Take care of yourself, and don't drink too much."

Cordelia recalled his birthday when he drank a lot. The sexy aura that came off him made her feel all

warm and fuzzy, it was hard to resist.

"No drinking when driving."

"Ah? Oh." Cordelia appeared disappointed.

"What's with that face? Do you want your husband to get drunk and pass out to make you happy?"

Ronan asked her, frowning.

"No, not at all."

Cordelia just hoped he could have a little, smell of alcohol on him. She liked the scent of liquor on him.
