The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 219

Chapter 219

After Samantha left, Cordelia suddenly felt weak all over.

The mop in her hand dropped to the floor, and she collapsed.

Turns out, Adrian's mess really was Ronan's doing. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

If he hadn't messed with Adrian, then Adrian wouldn't have had to look for a new place to live. Shelley

wouldn't have had to go house hunting, and she wouldn't have lost her life for nothing.

Even though Adrian had it coming, Ronan was definitely out to get him.

From the get-go, Cordelia felt something was off. She was uneasy because there were signs.

Adrian was the son of Ronan’s lifesaver.

Why would he treat Adrian like this now, when he had given him the house and money in the first

place?

Sure, he might have given Adrian the money reluctantly because Deanna was there, but what about

the house?

Maybe he didn't want to pay for Adrian anymore.

Or, because Adrian was a bit disrespectful to him on their engagement day, but was that necessary?

Cordelia started crying.

She knew that going to the police now would be pointless. After all, Ronan had a solid background. He

would never let Cordelia find out anything. It would be like throwing an egg against a rock.

The power difference between them was just too big.

The only thing Cordelia could do was to make herself as strong as him.

But that was too difficult.

She didn't have his cunning or scheming mind.

Cordelia washed her face in the bathroom and sat on the sofa in the living room. She needed to have a

serious talk with Ronan.

The sound of the door lock rang out. Ronan was back.

As soon as he walked in, Ronan saw her sitting on the couch.

"Didn't feel like going out?" He asked.

"Let's get a divorce." She said.

She didn't want to live with him any longer.

Who knows, one day he might just get an idea and kill her.

And he didn't even need to get his hands dirty. It wouldn't be traced back to him at all.

He had dealt with Shelley's case in just two or three days.

"Oh? Thinking about divorce now? Barney's still alive and kicking." Ronan smirked, like he had

expected Cordelia's words.

"It's not that I don't want to be with you. I can't. Whenever I see you, I think of how Shelley died. I can't

be indifferent. Also, I'm afraid of you." Cordelia said, hugging her own knees.

"What's there to be afraid of?" He lit a cigarette.

"Why don't you ask around, see how many people are afraid of you?" Cordelia retorted.

"Planning to change jobs after the divorce? Going to PrimeNumbers Accounting?" He asked.

He knew that Brenda had approached her a while ago to invite her to PrimeNumbers Accounting.

"I haven't thought about work." Cordelia said.

"I can agree to anything but divorce." He said.

"Fine, send me abroad! I want to go to school. And after that, I don't want to see you anymore." She

looked up at him, her gaze cold.

Ronan lit a cigarette, squinting at her, "Which country?"

"The best place to study accounting is North America. I want to go there." Cordelia said.

Ronan smirked, "You want to go to the United States, don't you?"

Cordelia didn't respond. She didn't care about the location, as long as she could get away from him.

"Let's go to Canada. Olen and Amanda are there, and we could..." Ronan said.

"I'm not going!" Just the mention of Canada made Cordelia think of Olen. She guessed that it was

probably Olen who mistook Shelley for Shayla and pushed her down the stairs, but Ronan turned a

blind eye to it, insisting that Shelley's death was just an accident. She couldn't accept Olen.

"How about Cuba?" Ronan asked.

"No, I want to go to the United States. If you won't let me go, then we're getting a divorce! Agree or

disagree?" Cordelia suddenly raised her voice, covering her ears. She kept thinking back to the

gruesome scene of Shelley's death with blood everywhere.

And being around Ronan every day, she was worried she wouldn't be able to control her emotions.

"Since you've decided on it, I'll take care of the paperwork." Ronan said and left.

Cordelia didn't know where he went, and she didn't care.

Divorce and going abroad, those were the two strategies Cordelia had thought of beforehand.

Divorce was the best choice. If she couldn't get a divorce, then she would go abroad to study and strive

to become stronger as soon as possible.

Only by becoming stronger, she wouldn't be the weak one anymore. She could have a say in things.

She wouldn't need to tread on eggshells around Ronan for every little thing.
