Chapter 369
Chapter 369
Upon hearing this, Ronan sneered, wondering to himself, “Who did she learn that from?”
"Ronan, are you or are you not going to let the kid acknowledge me as his uncle?" Adrian was starting
to throw his weight around.
"So what if he doesn't?" Ronan replied indifferently, showing that he had no interest in engaging with
Adrian.
"Fine, whatever. Just wait and see." With that, Adrian turned and stomped off.
Tabitha had been trailing behind Adrian. At the doorstep, she glanced back at Ronan. Just as Ronan
raised his eyebrows, he caught her gaze.
The next day, upon finishing work, Ronan ran into Tabitha again at the entrance of the office building.
Ronan lightly furrowed his brows. "What is it?" He asked Tabitha.
“Oh, Mr. Evans,” Tabitha stammered upon seeing Ronan, nervously wringing her hands in front of her.
“Actually, what Adrian said yesterday was a lie. I’m not his girlfriend, and I had no intention of
confirming his status as your child’s uncle. I was just there to pick up my car—you know, my car broke
down the other day. I saw him watching a video by the car dealership, and when I went over to take a
look, he claimed that the child was his nephew. He insisted on taking me along to prove it. Mr. Evans,
I’m really not his girlfriend."
"Hmm," he replied. "There's no need to explain to me." With that, he walked away.
Tabitha stood there, watching Ronan's retreating figure.
Just then, Samantha happened to pass by. She had just received a call to audition for a role in a
renowned show, The Grand Hotel. Given the urgency, a car was sent to pick her up, an unprecedented
privilege in her acting career. As she passed by Lumos Enterprises, she happened to witness the
encounter between Ronan and Tabitha.
Samantha smugly snapped a photo and sent it to Cordelia, adding a caption. [Looks like Mr. Evans has
a type—women who are a bit naive, a bit stubborn, and, of course, young, and beautiful.]
When Cordelia woke up at 7 a.m., she found this message on her Messenger. She didn’t entirely trust
Samantha’s words. After all, it was merely a photo of Ronan talking to a young woman. Even if Ronan
were desperate, he wouldn’t be so audacious as to date another woman right after celebrating his
child’s christening. Moreover, this was at the entrance of his office building. Of all places, why would he
choose to have a clandestine rendezvous here?
Cordelia had been overseas for quite some time now, and was always on edge, yet those men in black
hadn't made a move. She even began to question whether they were still around. She needed to
uncover the truth, but that required them to make a move. If they didn’t act, how could she investigate? Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
Cordelia was in a state of agitation, torn between wanting to return to Millstone and fearing the
potentially irreversible consequences. She had a husband and a son to protect; she couldn't afford to
take risks.
A clear example was when Ronan lost ten million at Edwin's company. It was easy to be taken
advantage of when you were exposed.
She was caught in the awkward situation of waiting for the other shoe to drop. She dreaded its fall, yet
yearned for it, and in this struggle, time was the only thing passing.
Men's fickle hearts were a common phenomenon, and she intended to warn Ronan. What infuriated
her was that Ronan moved on so quickly! She sent Ronan a message on Messenger. [Ronan, if you
want to find a new wife, that's your business. But if you cause any harm to my son, I swear I'll make
you pay!]
When Ronan received the message, he was on his way to work. After reading it, he left his phone in
the car. The message clearly conveyed that she was getting desperate.
However, there was one thing Ronan didn't understand. He had only met Tabitha three times, and he
didn’t even leave his car the first time. How did Cordelia find out?
Did Janice tell her? He decided to ask Janice about it when he got home that night.
