The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 374

Chapter 374

Tabitha was left at a loss for words by Ronan's question. Her primary reason for coming here was to

create opportunities to spend time with Ronan.

What was an unspoken reality, now put into words by Ronan, left her feeling awkward.

"No, Mr. Evans, as long as you're not affected. I'll take my leave." With that, Tabitha wiped her eyes

with the back of her hand. Her gesture was simple, naive, and, in its own way, adorable.

As Tabitha turned to leave, she hoped that Ronan would call her back, but he didn't. He simply let her

go.

Emerson and Ronan were left in the office.

"There's something fishy about this. This woman is not as modest as she seems. Do you want me to

dig up some information?" Emerson asked Ronan.

Ronan, nonchalantly puffing on his cigar, let the smoke dissipate before his eyes. "No need."

"No need? This woman has a well-structured game plan. First, she pretends to bump into you, and

then she arranges for those compromising photos to be released. Now, when people in Millstone think

of her, they think of you, and vice versa. You two are tied together. Plus, this woman's actions all seem

to be mimicking Cordelia! She's an imitation of the type of woman you like!" Emerson said, obviously Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

irritated. He despised women who wore pretenses and mimicked others.

Ronan's hand got a little burn from the cigar ash. "Which type of woman do I like?" With a slight

withdrawal of his hand from the burn, Ronan flicked the ash into an ashtray, asking in a seemingly

indifferent tone.

"The Cordelia type, seemingly delicate but with a strong will, with her own thoughts. She was so

strong-willed that she wouldn't even heed your words, naturally beautiful without makeup, and with a

good temperament. This woman seems to have only learned some superficial traits, but she's miles

away in terms of temperament," Emerson said, his hand clenched.

"Speaking with such fervor, do you like her?" Ronan asked Emerson.

"Come on, that’s your woman, how can I go after her? But seriously, don’t you think we should do some

digging?” Emerson asked again. “She’s obviously scheming, there must be a plan.”

“No need,” Ronan replied calmly.

He had some inkling, it could’ve been Samantha’s work, or maybe they were working together.

They probably wanted money, but more likely, they wanted him. Or, even more likely, they wanted to

upset a certain woman across the Atlantic. If Cordelia would truly get upset, Ronan wouldn't stop it. In

fact, he would even fuel the fire. He wanted Cordelia, who was living across the Atlantic, to see his

intimate photos with another woman, get upset, fly back home, and fall into his arms.

"Let the press blow this out of proportion," Ronan told Emerson.

Emerson was speechless. "Can you explain your reasoning?" Emerson asked Ronan.

"I haven't thought much about it. Also, make sure Deanna knows about this. She'll handle it for me,"

Ronan replied.

Deanna's attention would shift from dealing with Cordelia to dealing with Tabitha, a perfect instance of

killing two birds with one stone.

"Okay." With that, Emerson left.

Even if Emerson hadn't ensured that Deanna found out, she would eventually find out anyway. After all,

it was a small world, especially with today's advanced technology.

Deanna finished her shooting task with Vernon and returned to Millstone.

After the last time Samantha exposed her, she had fallen to the bottom of the celebrity pyramid, hoping

to slowly make a comeback. But with Ronan's support withdrawn, she was now no different than a

regular person.

When she saw the news, she was instantly livid. She had feelings for Ronan, and currently, the only

one who could help her regain her status was Ronan. She had to win his favor.
