The Devil Wore A Brown Suit

Chapter 24: Part One Pedition

Chapter 24: Part One Pedition

As I approach the tree I can hear screaming. I am not sure if it is Camilla or one of the other

two. If Venus is here this definitely will be complicated. I know she is here. There is a small door next to NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

the tree. It looks to go nowhere. It is spelled I’m sure of that. I touch the knob and give it a turn. It opens

right up. This must be where I saw Daniel coming from. I take a deep breath and I walk in.

It looks like the inside of a house. The door must be visible but the house cloaked. As I walk in I

can smell Magnolia. She is here. I slowly walk through the first room. They probably know I am here

but just in case I am going to be smart about this.

I can hear Camilla Dawn speaking. It is not very clear. As I begin to follow her voice the gray-

haired girl appears behind me.

“I cloaked you now you can save her.” She says and disappears.

I am not sure how to save her. My pocket. She placed a knife and a small amount of powder in

my pocket. This will get us out of here. I put the knife back in my pocket. I hold the powder in my left

hand. If anyone comes close I can blow it in their face and paralyze them. It will not work on Venus, but

it should take Brooke and Sunnie out of the picture.

The house is like a maze. There is something familiar about this house. I have been here

before. Of course, I have and I cannot remember how to navigate it. I have to get Camilla Dawn out of

here. We can figure out what to do about our life tomorrow. Tonight I have to save her. It is time I

stepped up and became who I was born to be.

I am Perdition, daughter of Lucifer and Venus.

I can hear her screams. I can only imagine what they are doing to her. I know he wants her

babies. I do not understand why he would kill her now. I come to the end of a hall. The wallpaper is

orange. It’s tacky. My mother would never pick this. Could she be a prisoner too?

“Stop it! Are you both completely crazy?” Camilla Dawn yells.

I am standing outside a room. I cannot see inside. She is in there I have to help her. I grab the

doorknob and start to go in. I feel someone behind me.

“fuck!” I scream at him. It’s Daniel.

“Damnation what is your damage?” He grabs me and throws me into the room.

“Tie her to Camilla. We will kill all of them tonight in the garden. The apocalypse starts tonight.

I get as close to Camilla Dawn as I can. I have to save her and the babies.

“Izzy, I love you.” She says. “I do not want my babies to die. I have to hide them.” I don’t understand.

“What do you mean hide them?” I ask her. She reaches into my pocket and grabs the knife. “Make sure

no one is coming.” She says.

“Camilla Dawn please do not hurt yourself,” I tell her.

“Give me your hand.” She says. She takes the knife and cuts into my hand.

“Ouch! What are you doing?” I ask. She takes the knife to her hand and cuts into her hand.

“Hold my hand.” I hold her hand. She starts to recite a spell in Latin.

As we hold hands and are energies begin to dance together I can feel her passion, her thought

process, and her mindset. It is like we are one person for a brief second.

“P. I need to borrow some energy from you. Do not be afraid. It will only hurt for a second.” She tells

me.

I nod to let her know I am ready. I can feel a burst of energy coming from within me. Is that my power? I

have never been able to tap into my powers for real. Now I feel something amazing.

As she borrows energy from me to complete her spell and save her unborn babies she smiles at me. It

is so strange. She knows more than she is saying.

“Perdition, she gave you tea made from the Judas tree. You have an amazing power inside you. It will

help you find all the missing children that your brother has stolen. You have both the power of good and

evil inside you. You are the future of the topside. It is up to you to protect the humans. Do not let your

brother get my children or any of the children. They will be forever enslaved in his legion of darkness.”

She says to me as she stares into my eyes looking for my soul.

I am trying to understand her and her mindset. She is so desperate to save the tiny beings growing

inside. I want to save her and her children. There has to be a way to save them both.

My brother has turned into a self-destructing ancient evil. I cannot save him. It has never been my

intention to help him. I only wanted to return him to the underworld and seal him in the void. I had no

idea in my rough and sometimes perilous journey I would experience charming and exquisitely horrid

people along the way. In the same notion, I have come into contact with some of the most amazing

people on the topside. My love for topside is growing. My mission seems to grow with every person I

meet.

“Camilla I will save the damned. He will not succeed in his effort to reign over the topside.” I tell her as

a grip her cold hand.

“I will honor you and your sacrifice.” She is dying right in front of me. I can feel her life slipping in front

of me.

“Where did you place your children? I have to know if I am to save them.” She begins to cry.

“You will know soon. I can no longer feel them.” She says. “Perdition, You have to make a run for it.”

She begins to pull her light to free me. “Go to Sam. He can help you.”

Her light begins to shine in a way I have never seen before. She is expelling her life force to save me.

The ropes drop from my arms.

“I cannot leave you Camilla” As tears flow down my face I realize I have to run. I am the daughter of the

king of wickedness and yet I have to run.

I lean down and kiss her forehead. “Stay alive. I will be back with Sam to save you.” I tell her. I run out

the door and make my way down the hall. I have to find the door. I have to get out. I smell magnolias.

“Mother!” The young lady who carries my name is standing at the door.

“It is a distraction. You have to go.” She says as she opens the door for me. “Be careful on your journey

you have precious cargo.”

“Come with me, if you want,” I tell her. She looks back, staring down the hall.

“Okay.” She responds. She walks out the door behind me. “I know where there is a car.” She points to a

wooden building just past the sunflowers. “There is a car there.”

I know I can trust her. She gave me the tea to protect me. Why is she helping me?

“Who are you?” I ask as we make our way across the field. “My name is Key. I am Sunnies’ sister.” She

says. “Do not worry I hate her too.” I believe her.

“Can we save Camilla?” I ask. “No, but Sam can.” She responds. “You have no idea how powerful the

two of them are.”

She is right. I have no idea what they can do. I am just floating through the days trying to figure out my

place here. Sam loved Camilla once. I think he still does. I know he will help me save her.

“Why is no one following us?” I ask.

“They are looking but I have us cloaked. We can make it to the car before I run out of Magic. I am a

new witch. I am not that powerful, but I can get us to Sam.” She smiles and motions for me to keep

walking.

“Are you a descendant?” I ask. “Yes. We share the same father. Both my parents were descendants.

When my mother died, My father remarried and Sunnie was born. She wasn’t always bad?” she tells

me. “Sunnie was left out of a lot. Descendants are very ritualistic people. Well, We were until we got

trapped in the void. You got us out. You saved all of us with your light.”

“Key, I do not remember anything. I have fragments and that is it.” I reach for her. “I want to remember

everything.”

She turns around looks me in the eye “The only one that can help you remember is you. You have to

let go and let everything in. I know there is pain but we need you to be Perdition. We need you to save

us. I can help but first, we got to get to Sam.”
