The Divorce Prescription

Chapter 654

Celine nodded. "Yes. Everything in Kinthorne has been taken care of. We're

leaving tomorrow."

Adam stared at her, lost in thought. She had only just arrived, and now she was

already leaving. He had no reason to ask her to stay.

She had both her daughter and Perry. There was no place for him in her life

anymore.

He couldn't bring himself to disrupt her happiness.

Carly beamed. "Adam, Mrs. Alvarez should be here soon. Let's head to the VIP

room."

Celine reached out and picked Bella up. "Bella, let's go."

Bella waved her little hand at Adam. "Goodbye, Mr. Handsome."

Adam replied, "Goodbye."

Then, Celine left with Bella.

Adam stood there, watching as they disappeared from sight.

Just then, Grace arrived in her wheelchair. "Adam, Carly, why are you both

standing here?"

Carly quickly stepped forward, taking the wheelchair from a maid. "Mrs. Alvarez,

we were waiting for you."

"Adam, let's go in."

Adam, Carly, and Grace sat down in the VIP room.

Grace asked, "Carly, when is your father coming back?"

Carly replied, "He's on a business trip but should be back in a couple of days. He

said he hopes Adam and I can get married soon."

Grace said, "I've selected some possible dates for the wedding. Adam, take a look

and pick one."

A maid set a note beside Adam with the chosen dates written on it.

Adam glanced at it briefly before saying, "I'm not marrying Carly. I've said this

many times already."

As soon as he said that, both Grace and Carly stiffened.

Carly looked hurt as she turned to

Grace. "Mrs. Alvarez, look at Adam!

I've loved him with all my heart and

waited for him for three whole years.

Anyone else would have softened by

now, but he still treats me like this.

How could I not be heartbroken?"

Carly was smart. For the past three years, she had stayed close to Grace,

knowing how devoted Adam was to his mother.

Grace quickly reassured her. "Carly,

don't be upset. This marriage has

already been decided. Adam, you

need to choose a date today and

marry Carly!"

Her tone left no room for argument.noveldrama

Adam remained expressionless as he said, "I'm not getting married. If someone

else wants to, be my guest."

"You-" Grace's anger flared. "Adam,

you've always been a good son. Why

are you going against me on this?

Our families need this alliance!"

"Mom, I'll do anything else you ask-but not this."

"Adam, let me ask you again. Are you refusing to get married?"

Without hesitation, Adam nodded. "I won't get married."

Grace's anger boiled over. She grabbed the teacup beside her and hurled it at

Adam.

He didn't move. The cup struck his forehead, and blood immediately trickled

down.

Carly screamed as she immediately shot up from her seat. "Adam, you're

bleeding! You're hurt!"

She panicked and shouted, "Someone, bring the first aid kit, now!"

Carly rushed to Adam's side, wanting to tend to his wound.

Before she could touch him, Adam coldly pushed her away.

Carly froze. "Adam, I can't even touch you?"

Grace angrily said, "Adam, do you see how much Carly loves you? You're her

whole world! Why won't you marry her?"

Adam responded, "She loves me-that's her problem. If I had to marry everyone

who loved me, just how many daughter-in-laws would you have?"

Grace was speechless.
