The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 1903

The Martial Alliance branch manager's words left every martial artist present chuckling under their breaths, some out loud.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

Still, they promptly clasped their hands on their mouths when they noticed Phoenix's murderous glare and had to endure the pain of stifling laughter.

Either way, it was hilarious-Phoenix had looked so confident, even demanding the manager's presence and announcing to everyone she had the Martial Alliance's recommendation.

She did not expect not to receive the recommendation or her comeuppance so quickly.

Every molecule of her body felt humiliated, and everyone's stares were suddenly sharp blades piercing her fragile ego.

She hung her head, wanting nothing more than to hide.

And even if many of the martial artists present were afraid to laugh, most of them turned away, clasping their hands over their mouths to stop the awkwardness from spiraling out of control.

"Who has the recommendation?!"

Nheless, Phoenix soon snapped, seizing the Martial Alliance branch manager by the collar and demanding angrily, "You said someone was given the recommendation, which was why my application was denied, no?!"

"You see..."

The manager frowned as he nodded, explaining in annoyance, "I understand that it upsets you that your application was denied. But in the presence of so many other martial artists, you should watch yourself for the sake of Cloudnine Sect's reputation."

The various Martial Alliance branch managers each had ties to the government and were naturally immune to the influence of major sects or factions -especially a mere sect apprentice.

As such, while this Martial Alliance branch manager would have been respectful toward some major figure in martial arts, he was not at all polite toward Phoenix.

"Who has the recommendation?!"

Still, even as Phoenix released the manager's collar, she glared at the crowd around her as she bellowed furiously. "Who has the audacity to take away my recommendation?! Are you belittling Cloudnine Sect now?!"

Seeing that she was really furious now, the martial artists around Phoenix averted their eyes, reluctant to risk her wrath.

On the other hand, the manager

straightened her collar and said, "Please do not make a scene here, Ms. Ardron. The person who has the recommendation is a martial elite with the chief of the Martial Alliance's confidence. You just can't compete."

"What?!" Phoenix was furious-the manager's words were basically an insult!

"Martial elite, you say?! Then tell me who is this martial elite who has the chief of the Martial Alliance's recommendation?!"

While the room turned silent at

Phoenix's bellow, the manager

spoke calmly, "Please watch

yourself, Ms. Ardron. Do not cause a

scene here in the Zamri branch of the Martial Alliance. Otherwise would have to report this to the higher ups, and Cloudnine Sect might punish you for this. Burning bridges does nobody any good here."

That only drove Phoenix even madder. "You will tell me who has my recommendation, or I will make everyone here pay!"

She had never ever suffered any humiliation of this scale, so she was not about to let it rest!

"So you're insisting on making things difficult?" The manager narrowed his eyes.

"So what if I am?" Phoenix snorted. "Did you really think that Cloudnine Sect fears the Martial Alliance?!"

Frank breathed a quiet sigh, seeing how tense things were between Phoenix and the manager.

It was obvious that Frank was the one who took the recommendation, and as for why he was so sure, who else in Zamri was worthy of Silverbell's personal recommendation?
