Chapter 9 Unclear Identity
Chapter 9 Unclear Identity
Helen turned her head and look out the window, thinking about how to explain to Xia Yu. Passers-by all looked at Xia Yu’s car in either marvel or admiration.
She frowned. This was already the first-class villa area in C City. The people who could live here were wealthy and respectable people. But, they could be marveled at the car… This… She gulped.
When her mother was hospitalized a few years ago, she had heard from the young nurses in the hospital that Dr. Xia was from an extremely wealthy family. At that time, she thought it was just a rumor.
She couldn’t believe that it was actually the truth.
“I’m taking care of someone’s kid.” She didn’t want to say it at first, but she was in The Davis’ residence and it seemed a little difficult to explain.
“Taking care a child?” Xia Yu muttered to himself and frowned. After a while, he then reacted and said, “You mean you’re working as a babysitter at Antony Davis’ house?”
Although Xia Yu was from a well-off family, but he wasn’t interested in all the upper-class society since he was a child. So, he rarely showed up in public. But he knew Antony Davis, because he was his sister’s crush. There were a lot of Antony’s pictures in his sister’s room. Moreover, every time he met his sister, she would mentioned things about Antony to him. It was difficult for him to not know him.
But, to his surprise, Helen would actually go to Antony’s house working as a nanny.
He picked up the lemonade next to him and drank a lot of it, then the surprise in his heart calmed down.
Turning sideways, he stared at Helen. “Helen, I can help you find a suitable job. You’re so smart…” When her mother was hospitalized, he had ever seen her cleverness.
“There’s no need…” Helen refused, not waiting for him to finish his sentence. She lowered her head, not daring to look at Xia Yu.
Xia Yu sat there without moving for a long time, seeming to be digesting the sudden things that happened. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
After a long while, he unfastened his seatbelt and turned around. He put both of his hands on top of Helen’s shoulders, staring at her and said, “Are you in trouble? Say it, how much money do you need? I’ll give you. Just don’t do this anymore…”
“Xia Yu, don’t be like this…” Helen couldn’t deal with his urging. She tried to break free from his hold.
They were just friends. He had no right to interrogate her life.
“Be careful on your way back,” she said lightly as she held the handle. When she wanted to open the door, she was stopped by Xia Yu.
She saw him get out of the car, then quickly walked to the front passenger’s seat and pulled the door for her. Then he put his hand on the roof and carefully pulled her out of the car.
“You’re on your period, so don’t touch cold water, wear more clothes, don’t get cold.” He looked at Helen with gentle eyes. Then leaned over to tuck a few strands of her hair behind her ears. “I have to go back to W City for a few days. After I finish handling my matters there, I’ll come and see you again. Wait for me.”
After he said that, he smiled at Helen, then he turned around and got into his car.
From the car started until it had driven far away, Helen was shocked and was unable to recover.
What had happened this afternoon confused her a little.
Actually, Xia Yu took good care of her in the hospital in the past. But her mother seemed to have objection towards him. Every time she saw him getting close to her, she would purposely look for trouble to distract her.
So, it was the first time for him treated her well in this way.
Standing in front of the room’s window and looking at the scene in the door entrance, Antony’s eyes darkened slightly.
As soon as Helen returned to the house, a servant came over and said, “Helen, young master asked you to go to his study.”
As the autumn wind blew, she shivered. Helen nodded, but she panicked a little in the inside. She knew that this man wouldn’t let her go.
In the room, the man was leaning against the mahogany desk and his hands were turning his documents. Hearing the sound of door opening, he looked up and threw the folder in his hand aside. He stared at Helen with his arms folded.
“What’s your relationship with that man?” The man’s thick voice was low.
Liu Xu had already given him Xia Yu’s information just now. He didn’t expect that he was actually the third son of the Xia.
The Xia was a noble family who managed hospitals. They had thousands of noble hospitals around the world. Their doctors were all world-renowned medical staffs.
Even his medicines were from the Xia because it involved special industry. In the business world, everybody who was in trouble would basically yield to the Xia.
But, it was unexpected to him that the dignified Xia’s youngest son actually liked his house’s nanny.
He was unable to hold himself to look at the woman before him up and down. She, who was in front of him, might looked well worth for a second look. The present she was obviously much more pleasing to the eyes than her first arrival. But she was only pleasing to the eyes, so he still couldn’t see it and didn’t get it how a man like Xia Yu could like her.
Helen’s heart skipped. She pursed her lips and took a deep breath. “This is my personal business.”
“Do you think I’ll let an unclear identity person take care of Paddy?”
Unclear identity? Ha. Hadn’t he checked before she came here? Wasn’t she already recognized before? And now he said that her identity was unclear? Why? Just because she knew someone who was wealthy?
“In Mr. Davis’ world, what kind of person is their identity transparent? The one you can see or the one you hear? Between people, they’re not unclear just because you say so. You have to feel it with your heart. I’ve been here for a long time already and have tried my best for Paddy. I think, Mr. Davis, you can see it yourself. If you think I’m not suitable and want to fire me, then please give me a reason to leave, Mr. Davis.”
Helen said it in one breath and her head was tilted to one side. She felt her eyes were a little damp. She was angry for being accused wrongly. For so many years, she had suffered the unjust of her child, and was even provoked until mad by this man’s ‘disdain’.
Antony remained calm and composed looking at the woman before him. He didn’t say anything and do anything. He just stared at her.
Helen was a bit scared by his staring. Thinking about the words she just said, she suddenly felt a little regretful. How could she forget that this man wasn’t a good person?
“Mr. Davis, if there’s nothing else, I’m going back to my room,” she said and then turned around to escape.
“Leave. The Davis won’t keep a person with an unclear identity…” His face was expressionless. His eyes were cold and stared at the sharp-tongued woman before him. Growing up, there were no women who had dared to talk back at him. But this woman was his first.
