Chapter 818
Matthew felt so frustrated that he wanted to beat up Jay. No decent person would have done that.
Watching Tony cry, Matthew tried to comfort him, "If you can't take it anymore, just smack him when you run into him again."
Tony repeatedly nodded, clenching his teeth. "You're right. I'll beat him up next time I see him. I won't go easy on him."
The words that came out of his mouth were cold and filled with hatred. Anyone who didn't know the story would think he was swearing vengeance against a mortal enemy.
Twenty minutes later, a car arrived at the entrance of Serenity Oaks Community.
Serenity Oaks Community was an old villa neighborhood. The guard at the gate was playing games in his booth. As the car approached, the barrier went up on its
own.
Matthew drove into the community. With Tony guiding him, he stopped at the entrance of Villa 26.
The gate of the villa was locked. Looking through the bars, he could catch a view of the yard inside.
The yard was filled with flowers and plants, and there was even a rock garden with water trickling down. The sound of water flowing brought some liveliness to the yard.
Beyond that, there was a three-story house inside with its door shut.
Tony looked at everything in the yard with a complicated expression. Standing at the gate, he blankly gazed inside for a long time without saying a word.
Matthew turned to Tony. "Knock on the door."
Tony snapped back to reality and shouted into the yard, "Open the damn door, Jay. You punk!"
Matthew's mouth twitched as he listened. Tony was so mad that he had lost it, swearing up a storm even though he was Jay's older brother.
Getting no response, Tony kicked the gate in frustration, and a sharp clang rang out.
Tony kicked so hard that he stumbled back a couple of steps before regaining his balance, feeling even more frustrated. "You're a piece of trash, Jay! If you don't show yourself, I'm breaking the gate down."
He bellowed like a wild animal, spitting with every word.
The yard remained quiet, and not even a single window was open. Meanwhile, people from the houses next door had come out.
Colin Slater, a man in his 40s with slicked-back hair, shouted at Tony, "Why all the yelling? Don't you know people are trying to sleep?"
Jay didn't expect anyone to be sleeping at this hour. "Sorry, I'm just trying to wake up my younger brother. I'll be done soon."
Colin scowled. "Your younger brother? Are you kidding me? Look at what you're wearing. You look like a beggar.
"This is a luxury community. The family next door has three kids in Eastoria, earning Eastorian dollars and living a high life. They wouldn't have a relative as poor as you."
Seeing Tony's outfit, Colin thought he looked like a hobo. His clothes were ragged and filthy as if he had just crawled out of a dumpster.
Eastoria? High life?
Jay didn't mind being called the poor relative, but hearing those words made him lose his cool. "Just because they're in Eastoria, they think they're above everyone else? They're so ungrateful, wearing shame like it's a badge of honor. It makes me sick. I don't have any respect for them."
Colin snickered and disdainfully replied, "What do you know? My son's in Eastoria, making more money than you can imagine. You can't even make it here and are even forced to work your tail off, but you still look down on them? What are you to judge?"noveldrama
Tony was taken aback and at a loss for words. His expression hardened as he snapped, "I just don't think much of them. Do you have a problem with that?"
Watching Tony struggle to explain himself, Colin looked even more dismissive. "Are you aware of the perks they get to enjoy there? They treat them as the experts of traditional medicine with the status of a professor.
"They're making a ton and are well-respected on top of that. With the way you are, you're not even fit to show your face in front of them. Who are you to look down on them?"
Upon hearing that, Tony's anger flared up even more. "I taught them everything they know about medicine, and I'm their mentor. So, why can't I belittle them? They're nothing compared to me."
With a look of contempt, Colin shook his head. "Seriously? You? Have you looked in the mirror lately? Do you deserve to be their mentor?"
Right then, a wealthy woman in her 40s, dressed in luxury brands, walked over. She stood in front of Tony, staring at him in shock. "A-Are you, Dr. Carling? H- Have you recovered?"
What do you think?
