The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 820

An overwhelming stench filled the air as the maggots continued to squirm. Flies buzzed everywhere near the rotting corpse. The sight left everyone in shock.

Hannah couldn't handle it at first, bending over as she started to throw up. Her reaction seemed contagious as Colin began vomiting as well.

One of them bolted out of the room. The moment they stepped outside, they leaned down and started to vomit.

Matthew clenched his teeth, his expression contorting as he held back the urge to puke. Just a few steps out of the place, he couldn't hold it in and threw up. It felt like someone had reached inside his stomach, grabbing and twisting the muscle hard. The intense discomfort was unbearable.

After recovering a little, Matthew rested in the yard instead of going back inside. The neighbors were shaken up, talking among themselves.

"Oh my goodness! How did it get this bad without anyone noticing? Did the household staff murder him and run off?"

"After the household staff left, I saw Jay exercising the next day. It couldn't be them."

"It's too horrible. The body is full of maggots, and the smell is just... I can't even talk about it. It makes my stomach sick."

"Jay had two sons and a daughter. He had a complete family, but he died alone and rotting in his house without anyone knowing. It's just tragic."noveldrama

"All his kids went overseas. That's pretty impressive, but look how things ended for him. I was planning to send my son abroad too. But now, forget it. If my son even thinks about going overseas, I'll break his legs."

Hearing the chatters, Colin found his face turning pale.

Colin discreetly pulled out his phone and sent his son a voice message. "I'm having heart issues and need hospital treatment. Can you come back?"

Shortly after, Colin received a voice message. He played it, and his son's voice came through. "Didn't they say everything was fine in your health check-up last month?"

Colin furrowed his brows. "What do you mean? Are you doubting that I have a heart problem, or do you just not care about me at all?"

A moment later, his son responded with another voice message, "Ask Mom to take you to the hospital. If that's not enough, hire a caregiver. I have exams coming up and really don't have time to come back."

Colin's expression darkened. His son still relied on him financially, asking him for 3,000 dollars a month.

His son wasn't even fully independent yet, and he already didn't care about his health. If his son ended up settling down in Eastoria someday, wouldn't he end up like Jay?

The image of Jay's rotting, maggot-infested body surfaced in Colin's mind. He even recalled the overwhelming smell, which made his expression turn even grimmer.

Colin immediately replied, "If you don't come back, you can forget about your allowance for this month. I won't see you as my son anymore, so do what you want."

Standing nearby, Matthew took a deep breath of fresh hair. After hearing the conversation between Colin and his son, Matthew couldn't help but acknowledge how sharp Colin was.

Watching how things turned out for others made Colin reflect on himself right away. Plus, he was quick in taking action too. He made up a story about being sick just to get his son to come back.

The sound of crying suddenly caught Matthew's attention. It sounded like the noise was coming from the doorway.

Matthew weaved through the crowd and walked to the doorway, only to find Tony sitting on the ground and bawling his eyes out.

Tony scrunched up his wrinkled face as he cried, making the lines even more pronounced. His raspy voice made his sobbing sound like a hollow wail.

His tears gushed out uncontrollably, like a faucet left running. They poured down his chin.

Matthew felt a pang of sympathy. Tony had only come back to his senses today, only to go through something like this. He went over to console Tony, "He's gone now. Stay strong."

Tony started crying even harder. "Why did you have to go before me? I told you not to send your children to Eastoria. Why didn't you take my word for it? I told you not to send them to Eastoria. Why were you so stubborn? Now that you're dead, no one's around to take care of your body. What's the point of raising them? You made a serious mistake, Jay."
