Chapter 401 Targeted

Jade came to Nathan’s office. As soon as she came in, the whole room seemed to

shine brightly.

Nathan smiled when he saw her. “You’re always a busy woman, General Perkins.

Why are you here?”

Jade ignored Nathan and immediately turned to Wendy as soon as she saw her.

“Wendy, stop what you’re doing if you don’t want him dead.”

Wendy didn’t speak. She lowered her head and played with her nails as if she didn’t

hear what Jade had said.

Seeing that Jade had ignored him, Nathan shrugged, leaning lazily on the chair and

looking at her.

“Did you hear me?” Jade asked indifferently.

“Yes,” Wendy said, “But I don’t want to speak because your words are too boring.”

Jade’s face turned cold with a trace of impatience.

Wendy stood up, shook her head, and said, “Why should I listen to you? We didn’t

start it.”

“The Roarclaws Group wanted to crush us, and Natasha wanted to profit from it. That

was why we intervened.”

“You also wanted to profit from it. You invested two billion dollars in Natasha.”

“You bullied me at the beginning, and now you want me to stop because you’re

losing?”

“Why should I agree? I can’t let you go so easily!”

Maybe Jade’s temperament could suppress most people, but Wendy was not among

them. She was also as proud as a queen.

Jade looked at Wendy fiercely. “If Nathan dies, you won’t be able to live either!”

Nathan said, “Sorry, I won’t die! The bad guys will live forever. I know I’m evil, so how

could I die like this?”

Jade turned around and said coldly, “I’m not kidding. Will you listen to my words?”

Nathan said, “Why should I listen to you? Am I your subordinate or your husband?

You’re a bit ridiculous.”

Jade said coldly, “We all take a step back now, and I can guarantee that nothing

horrible will happen. But if you stick to it, things might be different.”

“General Perkins, we’re well–prepared. The game can go on as long as you wish.”

Wendy said determinedly.

“You will lose your two billion dollars. I’m sure of it.”

“And yes, we will also get all the money of the Porter Group alliance.”

Jade said calmly, “This is my last warning and your last opportunity. Are you sure you

don’t want it?”

Nathan was surprised. “You bullied us, so we fought back. And now you’re here to

threaten us because you’re losing. Why are you calling this an opportunity?”

Jade nodded and said, “Then I’ll see you in three days!”

Then, she turned around and left immediately.

Jade knew this fight would be inevitable if Nathan and Wendy refused to give in.

In fact, she was too proud to play this kind of trick. After all, asking for a truce when

losing a battle was too embarrassing.

She didn’t even really want Nathan to attend Natasha’s dinner party three days later. If

so, she didn’t have to take action.

Jade could do whatever she wanted, but the two billion was a huge pressure, and

several other forces also needed to be considered. If she couldn’t fight for the same

goal as the others did, even the Perkins family would suffer some unbearable losses.

This situation forced her to come to Nathan and Wendy and ask for a truce, and it also

forced her to show up and even take action three days later.

“I did underestimate you back then. Fine. Let me see if you have any more surprises

for me!” Jade said to herself as she clenched her fists lightly.

After Jade closed the door and left, Wendy said, “She doesn’t seem to want to fight

against us. Or, to be more precise, you.”

Nathan smiled. “Of course. She has her pride, and she’s willing to admit defeat. She

can afford to lose.”

“However, the other forces pushed her to do things she didn’t want to do.”

“Even if she is Jade, she can’t help herself.”

Wendy smiled and said, “You know her very well, and she seems to know you. When

she came in, she only spoke to me but didn’t say anything to you.”

Nathan didn’t want to admit that he knew Jade.

But he had to admit that Jade did know him very well in some respects.

“It’s lunchtime. Ms. Wendy, let’s go to the cafeteria and have a meal together.” Nathan

stood up.

“Okay!” Wendy agreed.

As expected of a workaholic, Wendy called the senior management of Poly Capital to

sit down at a table during lunchtime and assigned some tasks.

Nathan kept eating in silence. He didn’t want to participate in these work matters at

all.

Everyone could notice something in Wendy’s voice. The final battle had come.

“Come and train with me tomorrow morning as usual.” Before getting off work, Nathan

smiled and glanced at Gussie, who was hesitant to speak.

“Okay…” Gussie hurriedly nodded.

Gussie was afraid that Nathan had too many things to do recently, and he might not

be free to teach her and Julian..

Early the next morning, Nathan took the two of them to practice on Mountain

Almonube at five am.

After practicing, Nathan went back home and changed into his military uniform.

“Wow. You look sexy!” Hannah was wearing loose pajamas. She had just got up to

tidy up when she saw Nathan was ready to leave, so she couldn’t help but tease him.

“Come here and let me look at you.” She walked up to Nathan and touched him.

Nathan impatiently slapped her hand away and said with a smirk, “You’re good at

teasing, but you’re bad at bearing the consequence.”

Hannah laughed and touched Nathan’s shoulder. “You must be careful. The most

critical moment has come, and you can’t relax.”

Nathan felt slightly annoyed that too many people cared for him and asked him to take All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

care, but it was also a kind of happiness that he had never experienced.

After leaving Emperia City, nobody ever cared about his father and him..

While at the Devendill Prison, his father didn’t take care of him and even tortured him.

Fortunately, he was strong enough to survive and became even better.

“I’ll go to the S1st Division. You can go to work. Just contact me anytime if you need

anything.” Nathan hugged Hannah and kissed her before he said goodbye.

Soon, Nathan arrived at the 81st Division.

Barry came to find him and said in a low voice, “Someone came from the War

Department today and said they wanted to test the Sharp Knife Company.”

Nathan said, “Alright.”

Barry said, “They came here for you.”

“For me?” Nathan couldn’t help raising his brows, and his voice turned cold.
