Chapter 24: You Are the Wisest (1)
It was undeniable that she really wanted to sound him out so that she could know whether he didn't agree her to resign because of his special feeling. Anyway, she still held a trace of expectation, but dare not express it abruptly.
Nowadays, he had a fiancee.
That woman was an aggressive character.
"Since Miss Steele can't successfully persuade me, I hope Miss Steele will stop resigning from now on. Although you are outstanding, Miss Steele must have accumulated some experience in job hunting these days. It is not easy to find a better job than that you own now, no matter in terms of the position or the salary." Alan looked at her with his meaningful eyes.
Olive was stunned. How did he know that it was not smooth for her to find a job? Did he interfere that?
She dared not think deeply, but she couldn't help being curious. "Originally, I have the chance to get the offer from two companies. Don't tell me that it was you who obstructed me and made me lose the chance."
Alan showed a rare smile, "Miss Steele thinks so highly of me. Luo city is not my territory."
It was true he had thought about that, but someone else had done that for him. Why didn't he gladly look on the results he wanted?
Olive looked at him quietly as if she was trying to tell whether his words were true or not. He called her "Miss Steele" all the time, which was polite and alienated. Perhaps, those so-called ambiguities, was only her own illusions, because she did not forget the beautiful memory related to them.
As for his appearance in Luo city, maybe it was just a coincidence. It was not surprising that a person like he flew from place to place.
"If Mr. Hoyle has no other orders, can you give me back my desk?" It was late. If she decided to continue to work here, she would try her best t finish her work.
Knowing that he took over Hengdu Company, She was not unwilling to stay here, but she was too afraid to stay here.
Now working under his leadership made her feel like walking on thin ice.
Alan gave up the position, "I am just taking over the company. There are many things to be dealt with. I'm in the office. If there are any problems, you can come to me anytime." © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Leaving this sentence behind, he went into the office and never came out again.
So hard? But Olive always felt strange but she couldn't speak out what was strange.
There was a lot of work to be dealt with and there wasn't much time to think about it. Perhaps, because there was one more individual separated by a wall, she had less fear of the darkness around and felt much steady.
She was busy with working until 4 p.m.. She pounded her waist and shoulder to loosen up.
Once she was relaxed, Olive just felt sleepy. After checking the data to make sure there were no mistakes with her eyes keeping closing from exhaustion, she printed more than a dozen copies, bound into a book, and put them on the table.
After finishing that, Olive stood up and saw some lights still shining through the door of his office. Was he still busy? Presumably, behind the his glorious appearance, he needed to suffer more hardships than that ordinary people could imagine.
Walking to the door, Olive raised her hand, but finally put down and sighed softly. Even though she knocked the door and opened it, what should she talk to him?
Turning around quietly, she went into the staff lounge, where there were sofa benches. She wanted to have a rest here for a few hours.
Probably she was really tired because of taking care of Chloe last night and only sleeping for two or three hours, so that she went asleep quickly without any dream, as soon as she laid on the sofa.
Sabrina woke her up, "Olive, why do you sleep here? You are not afraid to catch cold in such cold weather."
Olive rubbed her eyes and took her cell phone to watch the time. Finding that it had been work hours, she immediately didn't feel sleepy. Didn't she set the alarm for her cell phone? She didn't even hear it.
She slept too well.
"Are my eyes dark?"
"A little." Sabrina told the truth.
"I have to wash my face and have a meeting later." Olive rushed into the bathroom quickly. She washed her face with the cold water to make herself sober. Then she smoothed her hair and tied it up with a leather band.
Returning to her office, she felt cold in her heart, as if the temperature in her heart was lower than that in the winter.
The workplace had always been a battlefield where the smoke was invisible. She knew that her position as the assistant president had made many people jealous, but she didn't expect that she would be framed by others so quickly.
The printed conference materials had disappeared, and even the archives in the computer were destroyed. Both the analysis manuscripts and the original data were cleared up, and even the recycling bin was cleaned up.
It seemed that this person was really intentional. Olive sneered and then calmly walked to the shredder at the front office.
Sure enough, there was a pile of new paper scraps.
Glancing at that, Olive silently returned to her seat, leaned back against the chair and closed her eyes. She needed time to suppress her anger.
As for that person, she would ferret him or her out.
The sound of the high-heeled shoes approached and the familiar perfume came into her nose. Without opening her eyes, Olive knew that the visitor was Susie.
"Well, what's wrong? You look so grim in the early morning. Didn't you sleep well last night? The meeting was coming. Why is Assistant Steele still stunned here?
