The Killer Queen (Noella Briony)

Chapter 368

Chapter 368

The large screen behind them displayed several handwritten letters, causing an audible murmur of surprise among the audience. To everyone's astonishment, they were love letters Merrick had written to Freya! No wonder they had never been made public. Written with a fountain pen, each letter was filled with profound affection. Though not a single word explicitly mentioned missing one another, the depth of love between the elderly couple was palpably felt.

Freya blushed slightly. "Why bring these out now..." she muttered, slightly embarrassed Oran, with a chuckle, said, "My dear lady. Merrick plans to publish these as a gift to you!”

Back in their younger days, both were incredibly busy, with Freya spending most of her time in the lab. It was Merrick who had raised their daughter Sienna almost single-handedly! In those highly confidential settings where communication was restricted, they had resorted to letters.

Noella's gaze fell on Kent, who seemed quite uneasy amidst the crowd. "This gentleman can't exactly be accused of plagiarism, more like ‘inspiration’. But such obvious borrowing hardly seems fitting for display here, does it?”

Spotting the name signed on those letters and standing next to Merrick, Oriana suddenly realized... This was none other than the literary giant, Mr. Merrick! Her righteous indignation moments ago now felt awkwardly misplaced

Kent, who worked in ancient text research and was more of an amateur essayist. was visibly embarrassed by the call-out. He turned to Oriana, "This is your fault. Why would you say that here? Don't you know how to pick your moments? Is this the place to embarrass yourself?"

Oriana was deeply hurt. Little did she know, Kent's essays were mere compilations from various sources..

Seeing the letters displayed, Freya's eyes welled up with tears. "I never imagined you kept all these."

"How could I throw them away? Even if the letters are gone, the love remains," Merrick responded warmly.

Noella asked, "Grandpa, if these were your private correspondences with Grandma, how did someone else manage to use them as inspiration?"

Merrick waved his hand dismissively. "Years ago, some of my writing was used as study material at their institute. Kent, being into ancient and rural literature, probably came across them then. It's no big deal."

To Merrick, these matters were trivial. At their stage in life, fame and rivalry held little importance. Freya teased, “Don't be fooled by this old man's calm demeanor now. If it were about you guys, his temper flares up in an instant!"

When Elara was bullied at the research institute, Merrick immediately donned his award ceremony suit, brandishing all his medals, to confront the institute in defense of his granddaughter.

The couple was soon called away by familiar researchers.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Facing Linneas bewildered gaze, both were shocked. Linnea hurriedly explained, ie I didn't mean for this to happen.<° “Her explanation only < added to ihe chaos. Initially, shehad intended to approach Noella with theddice but ended up spilliag iton Elara's dress after an unseen nudge from behind.

Linnea, nearly in tears, tried to clean the stain with tissues to no avail. Elara sighed, "Let's not fuss over it. I believe you didn't do it on purpose. Noella, let's go change."

Shocked, Linnea offered, "Let me accompany you."

In the guest suite upstairs, Elara lamented, “It's a pity. This dress was made by Noella for me... I wanted to wear it to meet my idol.” The doorbell rang, and Annie appeared, carrying several dresses. "Mr. Pollack sent me with these."

The summit’s hosting hotel belonged to the Pollack Group!

Annie winked at Noella, "Mr. Pollack is aware of the incident and will join you shortly.”

Despite his busy schedule, Palmer made time for video calls with Noella, often working together. Their unique way of ‘dating’ impressed Annie, who admired Noella as the perfect match for Mr. Pollack.

Annie, daydreaming about her upcoming vacation, knew how rare it was for Palmer to make time for such events, highlighting the importance of Noella in his life.

Annie whispered, "Helen and Lucian made it too, they're over in the main hall, along with Mr. Pollack and all your folks, and a couple of the Schnabel brothers showed up as well.”

By Noella's folks, she obviously meant those thrill-seekers from Polaris Star who never miss a chance for some drama. It wasn't surprising that the Schnabel clan showed up to support Elara’s exhibit in the main hall.

As Noella bent down to adjust Elara's dress, adding a unique touch with just a few simple safety pins, she responded. “Alright. I'll head over in a bit." Staring at the completely transformed gown in Noella's hands, Linnea exclaimed, "Ms. Schnabel, your style reminds me so much of Master Azure!"

Elara had a moment of realization as well. “That's right. Noella, the brooch you gave me last time, it looks like it could be part of Master Azure's new collection? It seems like a design that's not even released yet!”
