Trapped
Chapter 41 Trapped
“I will do what you’ve asked, but please just leave my father alone.” Raven said.
“Now, that’s a good girl. I knew that to get you to do what I want, all I had to do was threaten to hurt your father. I mean it works everytime.” Ramos said.
Raven looked at Ramos with anger in her eyes. She felt like taking anything she could see and use it to kill him.
“I know that right now you must be thinking of how to kill me, but i know you can’t.
No you won’t and you know why? Because, you are worried what my men would do to your father if anything happens to me for I gave them an order that if any harm comes to me, they should kill your father.” He said.
“You… are… a monster…” Raven said, clenching her fist in anger.
“Mark my words Ramos, I’ll kill you and I will make sure I kill you slowly.”
“Hahahaha! I know you have a feisty personality and honestly, I like it! Call me whatever you want,” Ramos said with a shrug.
“At the end of the day, I’m the one who holds all the power here. Your fate, and your father’s, are in my hands. So, if I were you, I’d think very carefully about my next move.”
Raven’s mind raced as she tried to think of a way out of this impossible situation. If she refused to do as Ramos asked, her father would pay the price. But if she went along with it, she would be complicit in his crimes.
She felt trapped, like a mouse in a maze with no way out. She thought of her father’s kind, gentle face, and she knew she couldn’t let anything happen to him. She had to do what Ramos wanted, even if it meant violating her own sense of justice.
“Fine,” she said through gritted teeth. “I’ll do what you want. But you have to promise that my father will be safe.”
“I promise nothing,” Ramos said with a sly grin. “I’m not a man of my word. You should know that by now.”
Raven was filled with a sense of dread, knowing she had no choice but to comply with Ramos’ demands. She could only hope that somehow, some way, she would be able to find a way out of this nightmare and save her father.
But for now, she had to play the game, to keep up the appearance of cooperation while she secretly plotted her next move.
“Good,” Ramos said, seemingly satisfied with her answer. “You’re learning. Now, let’s get down to business. I need you to go with my men to the location I would send to you and the order is to kill everyone except their boss.
I mean kill every last one of them but bring their boss to me alive.” He ordered.
“I guess taking people’s life seems normal to you and you have no issues with it.” Raven said.
Ramos just laughed in response. “To me, it’s just business. The world is a harsh place, my dear, and I’m not the one who made the rules. I’m just playing the game by the rules that exist. I’m not the one who decided that violence is a part of life.
But I’m not going to let myself be destroyed by it either. I’m going to win, no matter what it takes.”
Raven felt like she was in a nightmare, and she wanted to wake up. But there was no waking up from this.
“You know, I think you might have the potential to be as good at this game as I am,” Ramos said, his eyes shining with a cruel kind of amusement.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“You have a sharp mind, and you’re not afraid to play dirty when you have to. With the right training, you could be a formidable opponent.”
His words made Raven’s skin crawl. She didn’t want to be like him, didn’t want to become someone who took pleasure in manipulating and destroying others.
She wanted to find a way out of this situation, but she had no idea how to do it.
Ramos continued, “I’m going to give you a test. If you pass, I’ll know that you’re worth investing in. If you fail, well… let’s just say you won’t like the consequences.”
Raven’s heart pounded in her chest, and she felt a wave of panic wash over her. What kind of test could he possibly have in mind? And what would happen if she failed?
“What’s the test?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“You’ll find out soon enough.” He said.
Just then, one of his men walked in to make a report.
“Everything is ready sir.” He said.
“Good… Now make sure you leave no one alive except the boss. I have great plans for him.”
He said, a sly grin on his face.
He looked at Raven and ordered her to follow them and leave no lose ends.
“You’re coming with us,” Ramos said, his voice cold and commanding. “There can be no witnesses to what we’re about to do.”
“No!” Raven protested, panic and fear rising up in her chest. “I can’t do this. I won’t kill innocent people.”
“You will do as I say,” Ramos replied, his voice low and dangerous. “Or else.”
