Chapter 2503 Maritime Development Acceleration
Chapter 2503 Maritime Development Acceleration
Two days into the Beast Incursion, and human civilization had already been altered beyond recognition. Much of human civilization in the central parts of the Panama Continent had already been wiped out. Too many nations and other polities and human establishments simply didn't have the power to protect their people.
The seemingly endless wave of monsters and beasts that emerged from the depths of the Beast Domain overwhelmed their paltry defenses, wiping out much of the human establishments in the surroundings of the Beast Domain.
Despite this, there were powers that still managed to hold out despite facing a never ending flood and beasts ravaging their nation. Once the Britannian Empire regained its Sages, they gained the power to withstand the onslaught of the Beast Incursion. Yet, their battle was much more intense and taxing than that of the Kandrian Empire, for they faced a much denser wave of beasts and monsters that was not dispersed over waves.
The strategic outlook for the other two Sage-level powerhouses in East Panama was better, but it wasn't the best. The Republic of Gorteau had lost its peak Sage to Damian in battle, while the Sekigahara Confederate had lost most of its Masters in the war against the Kandrian Empire.
The Kandrian Empire, on the other hand, was beaming with success. It could even afford to set up a generous number of shifts and even deploy Martial Artists to the aid of other nations, mainly its allies, to aid with the strategic situation.
With extraordinary Martial Artists leading each Realm, it was completely able to weather and suppress the beast tides that threatened to destroy the nation and all the people that lived there. This was something that was envied by all powers in the world. Not even the Panamic Martial Federation was as equipped to deal with the beast tide.
Once the beast tide swept over all of human civilization, those that survived were those that were truly equipped with immense Martial power or powerful siege weapons. Once their ability to defend against the incoming beast tides were done, they faced their next largest crisis: supply chains disruptions.
"I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship, Emperor Rael," Guildmaster Bradt spoke with a hint of friendliness. "As do I, Guildmaster." The Emperor of Harmony smiled. "With this we have established the Bradt-Kandria Distribution Network."
In the span of two days, Emperor Rael rigorously got to work to set up a powerful solution to the supply chain disruptions that hurt much of human civilization. Behind them, an immensely vast port town that had been in construction well under way in the war was ready to immediately get to work. This was part of the efforts of the two parties to begin their seafaring distribution and trading.
"We need to begin operations immediately," Emperor Rael commented with a calm expression. "The Kandrian Empire is in urgent need of potions and other strategic resources. On top of that, much of human civilization is in a similar spot. We need to ensure that we are able to meet their needs as well. That includes nations that may have previously been enemies."
Guildmaster Bradt raised an eyebrow in surprise. "I thought that you said you would not be inclined to help them with Martial aid in your recent emergency summit."
Emperor Rael shook his head. "Martial aid is a much, much higher form of aid. I cannot give my enemies Martial aid, but I am not unwilling to conduct trade and commerce with them. This is not out of benevolence, but out of self-interest. If the Britannian Empire falls, then all nations in East Panama will suffer deeply, especially the Kandrian Empire. The loss of the Britannian Empire will mean the loss of the first Sage-level powerhouse, which does not bode well for human civilization."
Emperor Rael had a personal dislike of the Britannian Empire and its prime minister. However, he didn't let his feelings interfere in making what was the best decision for the Kandrian Empire. Because it was positioned between the Beast Domain and the Kandrian Empire, it was a shield that protected the Kandrian Empire. If it was destroyed, then the Kandrian Empire would directly face more pressure.
Thus, he needed the Britannian Empire to survive so that they could continue serving as a shield for the Kandrian Empire. Of course, he didn't mind if the Britannian Empire suffered a lot and was battered and bruised as a result of the Beast Incursion. He didn't mind trading with them just enough to ensure that they could survive and continue serving as a shield.
And thus, very rapidly, the web of human connectivity that was destroyed by the Beast Incursion was slowly restored as the Kandrian Empire put a year's worth of preparation into work, mobilizing every ounce of seafaring power that it had prepared for the war.
The rest of human civilization followed suit, immediately redirecting seafaring power exclusively towards the most important and necessary goods and services. Those that shared a border with the Great Nam Ocean instantly became flooded with countless inquiries, requests, and pleas for their seafaring capital.
Many coastal nations immediately began going all out with the manufacturing of more ports, harbors, and ships, desperately hoping that they could last long enough to get all of it up and running. It normally took at least a year to make any progress with such development projects.
Thus, in order to encourage investment in development infrastructure, they often received massive support, aid, and protection from Sage-level powerhouses—not unlike what the Kandrian Empire had done for the Bradt Distribution Services—as well as resources and technical aid to commence and accelerate construction of powerful seafaring channels through which goods and services could be traded through the Great Nam Ocean.
Princess Ranea, who had been appointed as the Minister of Maritime Affairs, could not be any happier at all these developments. After losing the Kandrian Throne War to Rui, she could have never imagined the series of events that had eventually led to her dream of an age of sailors coming true.
