Chapter Thirteen
Emma
My heart swells in deep pain as I watch them take me away, the whole place both outside the office was being filled up with tons of guards in corporate attire. Even though I was tempted to reveal the hidden secret of our pack members, considering the pain I endured at the cold hands of Ava and Vincenzo, who may be off enjoying their honeymoon without a care for my well-being, but yet I decided against it because of Alpha Matteo Salvatore.
Despite his tough exterior, Alpha Matteo Salvatore has proven time and again that he’s a good man. He’s always had the best interests of our pack at heart, and I’ll never forget the time he once saved me from drowning when I was just a child. It wouldn’t be fair to expose him in front of our enemies.
“But his son broke you!” My subconscious is giving me a stern look, causing me to instinctively close my eyes. But gulping hard, I gather my courage and open them again. I can’t help but wonder if he would support Vincenzo if he knew what happened between us earlier that day. I try to convince myself that there’s a chance he could, despite Vincenzo being his son.
“Hmmm…. You wish,” the voice came again, haunting my thoughts as those beasts pulled me harshly heading to God knows where. “What if he supports his son, remember you were a mere omega. Let out the news and save yourself from this torture,”
I clenched my teeth, trying to hold back the sobs threatening to escape my lips as memories flooded my mind, but I fought against them, refusing to let them break me. These beasts had no mercy, and telling them anything would still only lead to my demise. Besides, even if Alpha Matteo supported his son due to my low status as an omega, that wasn’t my concern right now. Repaying his kindness mattered more to me. I took a deep breath, pushing away the doubts and fears that plagued my thoughts. I knew I had to stay strong, to resist the tricks and traps that were being thrown my way.
Nonetheless, the moment was filled with anxiety as we walked past countless stairs, eventually coming to a halt in front of a heavy iron door nestled in an underground chamber. The grip of the men holding me remained firm, and I couldn’t help but wonder what lay behind that mysterious door. As we stood there, a distinct sound of shoe clicks echoed against the cold tiles, growing louder with each step. My heart raced with curiosity, knowing that someone was approaching the space that had been created between the other men who were also standing around there. The person stopped right beside me, and when I turned around, behold, it was the exact gray-eyed man.
I could feel anger surging through me and without hesitation, I snarled at him, shooting him a fierce glare. My eagerness to bounce on him is evident. As our eyes met, he smirked and nodded in response. It was as if he knew what was going on through my mind. Stepping forward, he smoothly slid a key inside the iron door. I heard a rusty click, and with a strong push, the door swung open. The guards, with no regard for my well-being, roughly shoved me inside. “Ah!” I groaned, completely losing my balance and landing flat on my butt on the rough tiles. Slowly getting back up, I could hear the echoing sound of the iron door slamming shut, leaving me trapped inside the dark shadows of the room.

Days have passed, and yet I find myself still trapped in this place, with no food or water. Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder if they’ve forgotten about me, leaving me here to wither away. My body aches from constantly sleeping on the cold, rough tiles in this prison room.
The little reflecting rays of light from outside that stones inside do give me hope but as time goes on my assumption grows wider; they left me here to die.
However, being stuck inside with nothing to do is driving me crazy. I’ve been pacing around for days, trying to come up with a way to break free, but I’m drawing a blank. That iron door seems impenetrable. Despite seeming all rusty but yet it seems like the strongest metal in the world. I’ve attempted to break through it multiple times, but it feels like a hopeless mission. There are only two openings in the room, the door and a small window above the ceiling, so it’s tough to find a way out. Climbing seems impossible since the ceiling is so high up, around thirty meters above.
Every corner of this prison room where I was locked in was incredibly dark. The only area that received any light was the center of the room, while the rest remained engulfed in shadows. It felt like being surrounded by the darkness of night. It was a daunting situation, but I held onto hope, knowing that even in the darkest moments, there’s always a glimmer of light.
But honestly, it is frightening to me at times. I have been sitting at the center of the room, my eyes fixated on the iron door that stood as the only barrier between me and freedom. I desperately wished for a way to break through it. With determination in my heart, I stood up and approached the door. I reached out to pull the handle, hoping that it would give way, but to my disappointment, it was locked up tight. It felt like a setback, but I wasn’t about to give up just yet.
I quickly scanned the room, desperately searching for any kind of weapon or metal object that could help me break free. But all I found was darkness, casting its shadow over everything. I let out a frustrated hiss, feeling the weight of my confinement. In a burst of anger and desperation, I started banging my fists against the door, screaming at the top of my lungs to make them aware that I was still trapped inside.
“Ah….!!”

“Someone should open this damn open!!!”
“Let me out of this life-suffocating dungeon!!”
“OPEN!!”
I screamed loudly several times until no words could come out again, except for my silent sobs. It’s hard to fathom how some people can be so cruel. My assumption turned out to be true, and I continued banging my fists until I couldn’t even lift a finger. All the strength I had seemed to vanish. Slowly, I slipped to the ground, with uncontrollable silent sobs trembling from my lips. My stomach grumbled, and my throat felt incredibly dry.
Staring into the empty thin air, silent tears trailed down my cheeks as I came to accept my fate that I was left in here to perish to death because there was no way you were going to tell me that nobody heard my screams and the loud banging earlier. I sat down wallowing in deep anguish till my eyelids started getting heavier. I fought hard to stay awake, but the darkness closing in felt inevitable. After one final struggle, I couldn’t help but surrender to the deepest shadows of the night.
